Its my first time cooking calamari and I used your recipe.. I made it for my husband coze I dont like seafood so I dont know the taste of it but he liked it soooooo much, he said that this is way better than the one he ate at restaurants and by the way I added garlic powder and a tiny a mount of paprika and mustard powder into the flour and bread crumbs.. Thank you for sharing your recipe
Made this twice, once as a tapa as per your instructional video and another time as a meal, Portuguese-ifying it by laying the fried squid on halved boiled and seasoned new potatoes and covering them with a paprika infused onion escabeche. Both methods were deliciouss
I love this demo…wonderful voice and instructions, but I would like to know the best frying temperature to cook them…an amateur like me cannot go on heat on medium for x minutes…
i mean you said that... we dont want to overcook them, otherwise its gonna be rubbery like and hard to bite? so uhm.. how do i know when is the right time to get them, thankyouuu
i love to eat this and have always wondered what the difference is between the cheap and the expensive calamares. now i know. i think your channel is really cool! every time i watch, i find something i'm going to try - i originally thought spanish cuisine wasn't for me at all, but now i can't even decide what to try next.
Those are called calamares a la andaluza, there are many places in spain that do flour and egg, called calamares a la romana :) either way, they are all good! much love
I laugh every time I hear someone say calamari. From my home town in Newfoundland Canada we always called them squid and I caught tons and tons of them to sell as bait food for the Cod fishery. Also we eat them, but only 2 ways to cook them either very short time or a very long time other wise they get tough, my favorite was when mom would stuff them and let them cook all night until the next day in a low oven with a sauce she would make...lol Bring back memories for sure... thx... Didn't know they called them Calamari until I left home and started to travel to other countries.....lol lol always a SQUID to me ...lol lol
@@jasminerivera7386 Not sure of the ingredients she used right now. Mom passed away years ago and I don't live in NL now. When I talk to my sister, again I will ask her if she has the recipe and post it if she has it.

LOVE fried Calamari! My store doesn't carry squid. I will see if the Asian store has it. :)
smart! It probably will! In Canada (atleast in Alberta) we have TnT!
Is there any special way of preparing the squid before dipping them? Like soaking them in vinegar or preboil?
You're best brother
Thank you :) Much love

That looks yummy❤ but in spain we pass the calamari only through flour😊 but thats what i love about cooking, that you can twist any recipe❤

I understand why you are switching the hands now while coating egg wash.
Looks nice. But I like put sass me seeds on them
Can i freeze that ?
Absolutely, then just re-fry to heat them up and give that crispy texture :)
Thanks. 😊
Welp, I must say that today was my first time trying and my last. It was ok but nothing I’ll ever eat again.
Como Madrileño; te sugiero que metas esos magnificos calamares que te has currado entre 2 panes, un saludo.
nada mejor que un bocata de calamares! saludos :)
This is a dish suitable for food inttrolence
Avoid Canola oil!
Use Lard better.
Damn you really shoveled that in!

Looked real good. I’m not a fan of using mayo in sauces tho. We gotta stop using mayo it’s basically plastic food

Interesting slow cooking, what did your mom stuffed the squid with?

Thank you :) Much love!
Nobody in Spain breads the calamari. They're usually fried with just flour, with egg and flour or battered, but never breaded.
NO SQUIDAWRD!

You need to put more oil😂
Yes
Kenapa i buat tak jadi pun😏
I hope your mom didn't see you stuff that whole ring in......
lol....thanks for the comment :) much love
Too thick look like onion rings
This is not Spanish at all more of what you get at a cheap slimy diner
Too much talking, annoying
