  • Hey Gang! We've been working HARD this past week getting this bathroom completed. We can easily say that this is without a doubt the CHEAPEST and FASTEST bathroom we've ever done, and we're pretty happy with the results! Definitely a much nicer bathroom, and it'll get us clean until the StudPack house is complete. Remember, lot's of things left out in this video and it was purely a challenge for us to test our abilities and product knowledge. Thanks for watching and we'll see ya in the next one!

    Remember Gang, this was for ENTERTAINMENT purposes. We've spent the last 3 years filming and putting out "How To" videos on everything we touched in this video and more!
    We know we went real fast on a lot of these steps, and if you know us you know that was a hard thing to do! The goal of this challenge was to really see if in today's market you can save up a bit of cash and stretch it far enough to have a modern and functional bathroom. We're pretty pleased with the results! We really hope this can help a few people out there, and based on emails we get, we know it will. Thanks for watching guys! Now about this Mold.... 🤔

      I've been doing refirbs long enough to say it looks like someone invested in that house to look the way it did before demo...
      That's fresh thin set, the vanity was touched up with paint, the light switch and cut out was fresh...
      That grey paint is months old at most... 👀 But what do I know, lol there's just so many purposely made mistakes it's not funny, but hey I can't hate how you pay the bills... Lol to me it's the easiest demo ever 🤭

    Paul, I want to congratulate you for the tremendous success in your life. Anyone who has ever worked in the trades knows it’s not an easy road. All those years of blood, sweat and tears are paying off. Your knowledge, skills, experience, patience and ethics are visible in everything you do. Not only professionally but also in your personal and family life. You’re obviously a wonderful father and raised a fine, respectful son. Jordan I hope you realize how fortunate you are to have a father and mentor like your dad. I hope you continue to learn from him and appreciate all the frustrating and potentially painful mistakes he suffered so you won’t have to. You seem to be on track. Thanks for another great video and for sharing your lives. It may be a life changing inspiration for someone else. By the way, nothing you guys do is “substandard” even if it is temporary. Let’s call it “Studpack Lite”. Wishing you continued success in the New Year and many years to come.

    It took a crooked contractor 4 months to remodel my master bath into an ADA compliant bathroom. It cost me 25 plus thousand dollars. His crew even took (stole) some of my tools. How many days did it take to complete this bathroom rebuild? It is so awesome, wow.

    • @StudPack
      @StudPack  ปีที่แล้ว +36

      This took us about 7 days Mike. Sorry to hear about your situation, it's all too common

    • @Titantitan001
      @Titantitan001 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Brother I woulda done that dirt cheap for you. If you needed to make it ADA for personal reasons that’s when you do the person a favor. It also wouldn’t have taken me 4 months alone. That seems insane. Depending how big? It varies but I’ve never spent 4 months.
      I think the problem with most contractors is they stretch themselves too thin. They disappear constantly. Look for people who do one project at a time. Usually your best bet is finding an actual union tile guy. We usually do it all. Sometimes I’d hire out counter tops just cause I don’t have the means to moving it around. But if its light? Yeah no thanks.
      Sorry to hear that though mate. Its always a shame when I hear these stories. Goes to show the state of our society. Godlessness.

      Way too much time spent on a tear down. Although it's a great video and these guys are the real deal as far as workmanship, it would have been time/materials/$$$ better spent on the foundation that seems they still don't have. I think being more efficient with the above would be more "Cool", seeing them rough it in the old bath or just painting over the entire thing with epoxy. Living out of tent in a reality survival situation - yeah, it would suck but they might be more motivated to get it done faster.

Me and my brother always get a kick out of people tying heavy or unwieldy loads with string, or having big pieces of wood and drywall hanging out of an SUV with the door bungee corded halfway closed lol. Just be thankful you don’t own a boat. After launching ours, me and my grandpa used to sit at the marina launch ramp and watch guys try to launch their boats. We’ve seen people smash into docks, smash into other boats, fall off the trailer into the water, forget their plugs and sink the boat, even seen a few guys forget to use chocks, and have their fancy new 4x4 trucks go in the drink. I highly recommend the pastime, it’s a guaranteed good time lol.

    Not bad for $1100. Gives people some great ideas to make a really nice bathroom remodel and save a TON of money. I also really love the tile combination. Obviously finding all these products on the sales you got won’t fit for everyone but… it still looks really good for super cheap. It’d make the people at MadCity here in Wisconsin go out of business with their shotty work. The ONLY thing that bugs me is mismatched fixture colors. But again, everybody say it with me, “It’s only temporary” another great stud pack job! (Even if it is temporary)

      They could have saved on $$ with slightly cheaper materials (12x12 tile can be found for less than 1$ versus 1.39$ per hexagon) and perhaps a DIY vanity, there is like 45$ worth of particle board and some staples on this 200$+ Vanity.

    Good videos.
    C. 1980 I worked for an old time tile and marble installation company. We built old school shower stalls with tar paper backed metal lathe screwed to the wooden studs. Applied a scratch coat of mortar to the lathe, scratch it with a small piece of lathe while mortar is setting up so it was very rough. Next work day install a lighter weight mortar 1.5 inches thick by setting two oiled furring strips on each wall plum, square, and level. The strips plumed, squared, and leveled in vertical beds of mortar about 1.25 inches thick. After lunch use the set strips and a straight edge to fill between the strips. If memory serves we removed the furring strips the following work day and then filled those voids with same mortar and purlight (huge bags of little styrofoam balls) mix. Tile would go up the following day. For a house we would work on two or three bathrooms each day.
    I still see some of those old shower stalls from the 1960's and 1970's in homes. Some have never been caulked and the grout still has no cracks in the corners or floor edges. When I see one I'll inspect it closely. I have seen some old ones that did crack but that is likely due to the house settling or termites eating the studs. Some of those old bathrooms have pink, yellow, or green tiles. The tiles did not have nibs (tiles with built in spacers) way back then. All the floor tiles were one inch square for safety. Some day I may build one using that old method. I'd wager that Stud Pack has removed some of those old lathe and mortar shower walls.

    Well done guys, this one was quite important when thought about because it just shows for those on a tight budget you can get a nice job done. So thanks for letting people know you don't have to spend a fortune to get a great looking room. As long as when a bathroom is concerned you take drainage for serious & sealing everything up.

    Nice work. Great point about having the bathroom be a clean place to get clean. As to the dirty tile, I'd rake that old grout out, steam clean the tile, and regrout. Make it 200% better.

    Imagine being so good/quick/efficient at doing this type of work that you can “throw” something together that is nicer than 95% of the bathrooms out there just to rip it up and throw it in a landfill in a few months. I paid a lot of money to have my tile work done and I am not 100% satisfied with what was done. Especially my kitchen. It needs a hammer taken to it and done correctly. Maybe one day I can get to learning how to properly do this type of work and redo it myself. I have redone everything else myself that I paid a ton of money to incompetent “contractors/plumbers/electricians” . The people that work in these fields are generally not worth anything and that is if you can even get them to show up. Stud Pack sets a very high bar that frankly very few can even begin to approach. Keep up the good work guys 👍👍
