    I noticed you did not put silicone greas on the secondary o - ring. I removed my secondary o-ring and greased it and it just does not stay in place when I tried to replace it. Has anyone that you know had simular problem?

    Do you need the vacuum pump for general water use or is that just for diving?

    Nice video. Very informative. I have one coming for a Sony HX90 but guess it won`t need as much attention as this model.

    In the video you did the vacuum pump > then submerged to test without the camera. Would you then place the camera in the housing and do the vacuum pump again and test again?

    I didn't get why do you test the camera underwater without the valve even if you used the valve no the previous step?

    I bought one for my Fujifilm XT3 and have opened it to get familiar. After I removed my XT3 it started beeping. How do I turn off the alarm that is beeping now? Also a red light.

    Hello I have a housing for the Fujifilm x100t. Does the dome port unscrew? I cannot seem to remove it to grease the dome o ring.

    Does the exterior of the lens need any treatment as you would a diving mask. Like an anti-fogging spray or something.

    I have the Sony A7RV Housing and when the camera is in, the housing doesn’t close properly. Before inserting the camera, the housing passes the vacuum pump test easily and after the camera is in the housing doesn’t close properly in the bottom left corner. Any suggestions or is this a construction error?

    How many time I have to make this procedure? Only for the first use?

    • @seafrogswaterproofhousings
      @seafrogswaterproofhousings  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes before the first use, and then you need to continue to maintain the housing, clean O-rings and grooves from sand and dirt after 5 use of housing if needed. Very important! to not stretch the O-rings during the cleaning process. Also please watch this video: th-cam.com/video/LRPIkPvOOtw/w-d-xo.html

  • @Fakano

    Hi, can I use the vacuum pump underwater to keep the camera bouyancy in check? oor is there some way to take the air out of the case and keep it sealed?

    • @seafrogswaterproofhousings
      @seafrogswaterproofhousings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, it is not advisable to use VPS-100 valve in the water as per manufacturer instructions. So after checking the unit please remove it and replace it with the port cap. If you want to control buoyancy, add weights to your setup to make it as close to neutral as possible.

    Hello.
    I have used seafrogs on all my camera models, from old Canon, to my Olympus TG5 and TG6, and also for my sony rx100 iV and Vii, sony a6300, sony a6500, sony A7 Ii, and now sony A9. They are super durable if we don't skip proper care. I also have tons of expansion ports, domes, etc and the vacuum pump for leak detection. Super!
    One question, if you know: on my a9 housing, as well on that model you showing for the a7 R III, there is a small button wheel on the front, right above the port.
    I am trying hard to understand what that is for... the cameras have no buttons there... the focus ring don't seem to touch it (I have the old hard plastic ones but now there are some rubber more soft ones...). I thought it was to help get them aligned withe the cogwheel down by the base but I don't think its that either.. any ideas?
    Thanks.

    • @igorshtorm71
      @igorshtorm71 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thats a zoom gear locking pin, so it won't slide backwards (not that it does imho), but I assume jsut a precaution in case it does.

    • @Histogramas
      @Histogramas 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@igorshtorm71 yeap it is, thanks! Actually it works well. Depending on the lens used (and there are many lenses compatible with several focus/zoo rings) the ring tends tonoscilate a little. This helps keep it straight so the gear knob don't miss the dents. Thanks.

    I have a sony a7 iii. Bit confused on what housing I should get. The one for a7Riii or the one for a7Riv? Which one also fits a7 iii?

    • @seafrogswaterproofhousings
      @seafrogswaterproofhousings  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Enea. Housing for a7Riii compatible with both a7iii and a7R iii cameras. Housing for a7Riv is not compatible with a7 iii camera.

    Are the normal Sea Frogs ports compatible with Salted Line cases? The Salted Line and the Seafrogs 6" dry domeports (67mm / 80mm) look exactly the same. (even the same pictures online) Thanks!

    • @seafrogswaterproofhousings
      @seafrogswaterproofhousings  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Andres. No, ports for regular Sea Frogs housings are not compatible with Salted Line housings as the diameter of the lens entrance is different, 90mm Sea Frogs vs 80mm Salted Line
