I also agree it was a nostalgia grab but I did like the the show. I felt the show first half of the season was subpar and almost didn't watch it but when the show became darker i was hooked. But it did catch me off guard when the first episode Jean Grey was pregnant. So i had to watch more how they did sunspot was interesting i couldn't remember how he was in the comics but I am assuming he was written the same way as the comics. It was exciting to me to see some of my favorite chracters like Cable, Bishop. Although i felt they could of made those characters more bad ass my personal opinion. I also agree with what you said about taking Rogue out of the battle for his child. But because she is so powerful i can also understand why he would want her to protect Jean because his child is in her. My problems was how Forge and Storm fell in love so quickly but maybe they could of just said like in text 3 weeks later or something just my opinion. I still think the show was done really well and am excited about the next season...very excited especially if they write it how they did the second half of the season. I definitely understand why Rogue would act that way and why she would have feelings for Magneto someone she can actually touch but I agree i wasn't sold on her voice acting maybe it is just me but felt her accent and dialogue was forced. One of the things i did really like is you could feel the pain of those characters when the Genosha event happened. Magneto's saddness and how he snapped it is almost like Xavier don't you get it. X-men was a comic i read a lot as a child and i think the story i could relate to as a child. I think it was one of the main appeals of the series. We'll i said enough but the last thing is one of my most memorable visions in all animation is from the X-men 96 is Gladiator flying in to earth with the music and comes and just takes out Juggernaught like nothing. And if you watched the whole season you know who is coming. Yes it had some flaws but it is one of the best American animation adult themed story in a long time. Let's hope they go more the route of the second half of the season but even more causing the stakes to feel higher. Something like an anime or Invincible.

They missed a perfect opportunity to send Cyclops off and have Storm be the de-powered X-men leader like she was in the comics. They F'd up IMO. The de-powered Storm leading the X-men is her best arc. She would never run away, doesn't shitcan the series, but I do feel they are lacking in execution and creativity at times. Still giving season 2 a go, and I'm glad they did the Storm and Forge in another dimension. But this is a clear rushed job. Cyclops should have left the team and made Storm the de-powered leader like in the comics. The Clairmont X-men are the only real x-men for me, until someone comes back and writes them with that spirit. Clairmont has shown he's not capable anymore, unfortunately. They let him do a book "starting where he left off" and it was a terrible mess, it was like he just changed things and did things because he's still bitter about the 90's BS.
