Dear Bruce, Many thanks for the comprehensive review; this watch is very good as an overall Sports and Dressy watch that fits for all occasions, however; I belive adding a screw down crown with a little larger hour arm will make it a legend in its category at this price.
Great piece. Own this one. High value- You could almost pass this off as a dress watch with a different strap
Great video! Very detailed analysis of the watch, caught everything I noticed as well! Also, cool fact - the black stripe on the indices are actually lumed too! They are faint, but if you charge it, you can see the lume.

Excellent review, probably the best video on the PR516GL. The only thing I would add is you mention the blue and black are truest of the original design, however the original 1960's production had the same 4 colors of blue black silver and gold, google images you can see many images of vintage silver and gold ones.

I have a real one. Golden with a bordeaux background. My father gave it to my grandfather in the 70's or 80's and he gave it to me when he passed in 2014. Cool.watch.
Cool watch. I actually just picked up a PRS 516. Very similar dial but this has a much more vintage case style which looks awesome. Great vid👍

Cool watch, I have a similar vintage PR516 manual wind from 1970 that is a fun watch to wear. Smart of Tissot to bring these back.

I bought my Blue PR516 in HongKong in 1970 for $30USD. Back home in Canada it was $110 at the time. I'm still using it! Serviced recently for about what I originally paid for it...Graham in Vancouver BC

Got the silver sunburst..I love the retro theme including the bracelet. It gets more compliments and notice than my rolexes,ling, tudors, tag, etc from non wus especially the ladies..also killer with NATO. Wish it had plexi though.
I own the blue one with bracelet. Awesome watch. Also, it was hard to find and buy, that's true.
I have same watch with original bracelet being interchanged almost all the time with straps, i.e., a black Hirsch Robby Sailcloth and a black racing leather straps and a mint green canvass strap.
I just got the gold one. Very minimalistic. And as a Swede I of course fell for that.

Oops, just seen this video is three years old, and most Tissot are using the C07. ... movements, a retrograde step imho.

I have the blue version on a Staib mesh and I really think it is an exceptional design. Mine is not very accurate though at +20 sec a day.

Io l'ho comprato con il quadrante di colore Blue cobalto e bracciale in metallo forato.
Questo con il quadrante nero e bracciale in cuoio mi piace moltissimo.

at first glance a breathtaking watch and I love that style of chapter rings, BUT it suffers from a serious SHS* problem!!
*SHS - Short Hands Syndrome
it's a shame as even the original that you showed in the catalog picture has a normally sized minute hand so it makes it a mystery why they chose such a short minute hand for this reissue

The Watch should have screw in crown to ensure tight water resistance at 100 m and the arms are short and look very thick and should have a stainless steel original bracelet. Overall very good Sports and dress watch for every day use at this price range.
I like it aside from the hands. Hands are supposed to point.
Cool watch probably I will get this one, but I am only seeing the gold version online which I don't like.
Black and Blue versions are very hard to find

I own this one and actually it does have room in the indices you just have to put a flashlight on it and they almost disappeared just about instantly I'm going to sell mine here shortly just because it is very close to my black Bay

trickystravels yes it's been discontinued. Only place to find it now is old stock from a Greymarket or pre owned. I got mine pre owned in excellent condition

I use my iphone 6 for everything. I have a little plug in shotgun mic (it kinda sucks though) and a clip on attachment for a 10 dollar macro lens. I would love to get a Cannon 70D and Rode Mic someday though

I wouldn't call it retro, this watch looks still pretty modern. Maybe you can call 40s or 50's homage is retro, this is more like "modern retro".
