Wayalife The drains make so much sense, my mats are always pooled up in the winter! btw I'm not sure if you noticed - but it looks like the Rear passenger (drivers side) mat slides into notches on the passenger side before being pressed down in the middle.

Love these floor mats too. The drain plugs are a nice touch. FYI, there are tabs on the center portion in the driver side rear that tuck into the passenger side... just in case you want it to lie flush. -Fellow JL'er

Well, thank you for another great video that I came across having just installed one in a 2023 Sahara. Your video cleared up what those 'things' were and my concern over the hole in an all weather liner. I see a lot of commendations but am I missing something here as I do wonder though if this floor plug is not more like a solution looking for a problem. Isn't there a greater risk of ingress over time with failing seals on a vehicle designed for fording? I guess I am wondering if it's not better to just remove the liner for cleaning rather than having a drain plug on a fording vehicle. 🤷♂

From what I can tell, the mats are the first style like this, the improved ones have a plastic bar in the middle to try act as a catch in case the plug is out and you drop something. Also how is the seal on these version of the mats. From my understanding the seal on both these and the newer version of the mats don't seal tight and water can get in between the carpet and the floor pan. One improvement I saw was to put some of the 3M tacky windshield adhesive ribbon around the drain plug after you remove the foam gasket on the mat and when you press down it will make a seal. If you pull the mats up you most likely will have to remove and put a new strip of the adhesive ribbon on.
love the front mats they look awesome, I wish the rear were one long continues piece but they look bad ass. If the Mopar ones for the JK's looked similar Id by a set for mine. Great videos by the way keep them coming.
I saw other TH-cam regarding driver side mat's drain hole isn't sealed properly from under the vehicle. If you drive on water, it will penetrates into the car. Experience with all weather floor mat???

Will these fit the 2021 sahara unlimited? Amazon says they will not. Of course amazon does not have a mopar floor mat that fits jeep. Which i find odd.
If you install the rear seat recline kit, the rear floormats won't fit *quite* right. With all doors off, they will flap. Still trying to solve that in our JL.
Jon LaBarge I know it was a problem on the JK but I didn’t know people were unhappy with the JL rear seats. I think they’re surprisingly comfortable right from the factory. But, that’s just me.
I’ve read of people who have the drain port funnel of the mat not sealing tightly to the hole in the floor board causing leaking up through the floor drain holes when water fording. Anyone care to add their experiences/thoughts?
Eddie, how have these held up? I’ve seen other videos describing a less than stellar seal and water soaks the bottom of the carpet. Any issues with yours?
So far, mine have held up well and we have done some deep water crossing as well. I should note that it does take some effort to ensure the drain ports are seated securely and I could totally see how some people may miss this.
anyone else have issues with rear mats not staying connected? always have to reconnect it but recently when driving with top/doors off on highway it was flapping in the wind! i used some adhesive velcro, put 2 strips on carpet & 2 on bottom of mat. but it still wants to come apart. shouldve been one piece from the start
I noticed your jeep has cupholders in the back near the floor mine does not have cupholders in the back near the floor it has cupholders in the armrest in the backseat

If you do not cut the carpet it leaves a large raised section on the floor mat. Looks awkward and doesn’t fit correctly. I have had multiple customers not want the carpet cut. And that was the result. Plus it allows dirt and debris to get down in the hole and make a dirty spot on your carpet. If you get these mats they defiantly need to be installed the correct way.
Jeep Informant oh. I think I will just get a couple extra plugs and plug them on the top of the floor mats. I don’t want to cut the carpet. I emailed FCA and told them they need to make a more durable drain port plug made out of metal or something. Rubber? Really.
@@BrandonHaneline my carpet wasn't cut, had an awkward raise on the mats so watched quadratecs install video. I dont want more road noise and this is a gimmick for lazy people because I wont be pouring water in my Jeep to cause more rust. I am selling these mats to get 3Dmaxpider mats to avoid cutting carpet, but this was a nice idea.

@@wayalife actually I ordered mine from the dealer who ordered them from Mopar. Even Mopar website is not clearly identifying the ones that would fit Rubicon 4XE. I think it has to do with the Lithium batteries under the rear seats. I returning those tomorrow to the dealer.
@@Azantys I am having this same problem. MOPAR gives us the green light to order them by saying they will fit the 4xe JL, however, the back mats will not fit due to the second all-electric engine/battery setup under the seat. I am going to see if taking the panels off will allow the mats to slide under then put the panels back on, but even Wayalife's cupholder setup looks different in the video so they probably will not fit.
@@Huneidu don’t take the panels off. Mopar do have the right mats. They put the wrong skus# and info on their website. The Jeep dealer here is a close friend of mine. I returned mine to the dealer and the week after I got the right ones. They perfectly fit and the red pattern on black is very nice ( our 4xe is Red). Mopar apologized for the mistake and they told the dealer that they now have the right part number on their website.
That is a terrible design by whoever engineered that feature. It will just promote rusting around those holes since all of the salt and sand will be collected right there. Should have been just 2 inches longer rubbery spout that fits snugly into place.
These are the coolest and most functional mats ever- well done JEEP engineers!

I'm torn between these and Weathertech. The Weathertech mats have higher sides to protect more of the carpet.

We've done deep water crossing with our mats installed and didn't seem to have any problems. Maybe what you saw was installer error.

If installed correctly, as in, the drain port on the mat is fitted securely in the drain hole on the floor, it should not allow water to come in.
This new wrangler is great, but they've reduced the space in the cabin. I don't fit anymore, sad thing is i have more room in Renegade

I assume you have the leather group. If so, your cup holders are in the fold down section of the rear seat.

Significantly better than the sound system in my 2012 and light years ahead of our 2007.

Yes. You only get the fold down cup holders in the rear seat if you get leather.

Those won’t fit the Jeep Rubicon or Sahara 4xe. The front will but the rear are too big
