If there is one constant in sim-racing, it is that Racerooms December updates never disappoint. :D
I love playing raceroom I’d love it more if it had a night cycle
Really looking forward to this update. This has been my go-to sim for many years.
Mee too! It's been long awaited.
Question... is it worth as a main sim? i played it quite a lot this summer and it was very fun to play, but i'm worried about the amount of people that play in weekdays (at like european night time we could say). Is it easy to find races, and what content do you suggest? thank you lots
@@avsten if you want every content in RR I suggest you buy 100.000 virtual race points for 65€ from the raceroom store (not the ingame shop). This should be enough for the premium pack which includes every content that is currently available.
@@avsten I'm in the US so I can't comment on availability of races on Euro servers. Also, I rarely race online. I prefer to avoid the headaches and race mostly with AI, which I think is pretty solid, but not perfect. I like a lot of the content and I own most, but not all, of it. GT3 and GT4. Group 5. WTCC or WTCR (any year). BMW M1 ProCar. Praga. 1992 DTM. Also, any modern DTM cars. Formula RaceRoom 2. These are my favorites but I have much more content than this.
I'm in two camps about this. I LOVE Raceroom and usually their physics updates knock it out of the park, but as someone who has played since launch and owns 100% content, it feels like groundhog day. Every 2-3 years they announce a major physics change to remind you that RaceRoom exists. I wish there was better TLC and an actual game around it. For example, there's something fundamentally wrong with the IndyCar AI; they burn fuel at half the rate of the player, so their pitting strategy is all messed up. There's also nothing interesting like a career mode or anything of that sort.
I'm 100% with you on that. Have premium version, few hundreds of hours, I really did enjoyed playing it but it got stale. No new features were added only recycled DLCs with cars which can't even have accurate dashboards.
Well said! The AI should have been recalibrated long, long ago.
Would love them to add day / night cycles, driver swaps and maybe weather?
I love Raceroom and have raced in a league for the past 7 years, just wish the player count would come back as ACC has taken a few players
I last drove RaceRoom at a sim centre at Brandshatch back in 2018 or 19. Really must install it and give it a skid. Good video Jo. 💪🏻
Just tried this around Donington. It is SO much more fun!!!! Awesome change :D :D
I like RaceRoom more than all other sim titles and I'm thrilled that it'll soon have even better tires physics. As I personally don't drive GT3 cars, I'm hoping we don't have to wait too long before these improvements trickle out to other classes.
the simulator is perfect, I love it, we do championships in it, but I think it needs updating to be able to make skins and also night simulation, but it doesn't let me down for any simulator, I'm extremely passionate about it, but our community in Brazil is still a small community. We need to do some work in this regard, but if an update to the skins came, it would help a lot.
Amazing physics right now. The tires update improve the game to another level! 🎉
I love me a physics update, especially since this seems to fix the one issue I have with it, but this game needs more than this.
With rain coming to iRacing (soon tm) they need to work on that, the track list has some really cool tracks but it needs more well known tracks like Le Mans or Barcelona, the car list has a lot of diversity but it's lacking modern cars, the GT3 class is missing two manufacturers and the GTE class only has one car, I don't care much about graphics but I can understand where people are coming from.
The game is amazing and it's the simulator I keep coming back to for sheer driving pleasure, but it needs more. Hopefully the buzz around the physics update brings more people in and makes them add more stuff to it.
Please let us know when the graphics are upgraded.....then many of us will come back.
Ahh using real data! Unlike all the other sim studios who put the real data in the shredder! :D
R3e is my Homesim and I would Love to See the Game becoming big again
If RaceRooom would update their graphics to the latest gen (ambient occlusion/GI, higher poly count, HDR, VR, etc...), this Sim would easily become top 3 for most people. The selection of cars (GT1, Group C, OpenWheelers,), amazing unique tracks, best sounds, best physics/FFB, AI pricing, best car setup interface/UI, etc.. They check a lot of boxes, except graphics.
Please no, because I just got a laptop That can actually handle the full spec of race room so if they update their graphic settings. That means I can't play no more, so no.
@@Knuckles_approves Just keep playing the old version... or turn down the settings.
@@youngyingyang oh its great now. My laptop can run DCS at full spec 😬
Using reshade it’s quite beautiful now.
Were you able to feel the ABS braking in the force Feedback? Looking very much forward to this update.
Looking forward to this, Not a fan of GT3 but if the physics affect other cars in a good way I will be happy. I can see Raceroom and rFactor2 being my two sims of choice for the next few years as long as the online servers keep busy.
I hope the braking tweaks were also done to the Mazda DPi. I always felt like the braking distances were way too long
hopefully this fixes things i gotta say the open ranked races on wednesdays where this was no signup were the best but then they removed it so disappointing
What most sims don't get is that losing grip is a rather dramatic, violent event IRL, yet even in my favourite AC it feels like tyres just switching from tarmac to ice back and forth...
Finally!!! Geezus!
Love RR but being in the US it’s so hard to find broadcasted leagues to join
Moin! - Greetz Cracky
When you choose the assists on time attack events the user is rewarded if it chooses "get real" or doesn't matter?
Because the leaderboards are mixed I don't understand.
raceroom é bom demais!
Still feels like driving on ice.
Looking to buy some packs just wondering which is the most played series other then gt3
As much as I enjoy raceroom, i always found the online lobbies empty, or maybe its because of my timezone in Australia ?
They need to update the games popularity!
They fixed the thing that needed fixing the least, instead of improving the game where it lags behind the most. This won't change anything.
Family Guy plotting Roach meme...
"Good. GOOD!"
Seriously looking forward to this one. I always felt there was one small detail holding Raceroom's physics back. Looks like the developers felt the same. December 18th can't come fast enough. 😂
Only a few more days!!!
My CSL Elite V1 pedals are cowering in fear. Enjoy the light braking in FM, loadcell. Come Monday we're going back to R3E! Mark your time!
(All your FFB, are belong to us!)
I've spent a lot of time with the new Forza Motorsport, and while it showed me my setup is crap in 2023, I enjoyed playing it. Hearing that Raceroom is getting it's new tires on Monday, I fired my old favorite up for some hotlapping. As it stands now, before the tire update Forza has got nothing for Raceroom. Driving, physics, sounds and immersion in Raceroom is just more coheasive than FM. I don't know why I put so much time into Turn 10's game, where R3E gives me everything that matters in a racing title w/o issues or bugs messing things up.
After my session with Raceroom I wanted to compare the Audi R8 LMS Evo between the two titles. I jump into the R8 in Forza... And after 1 lap of Road America, I immediately turn the game off. Yeah-No! I can't do it. Raceroom ruined Forza for me.
Not a bad thing though. My junky rig is more at home running R3E than running Forza Motorsport. I'll be main-ing R3E until I get some new bits for my PC (CPU and GPU) or until R3E's graphics update tells me I can no longer play.
Why did you deliberately drive into that car multiple times???
And why was the line on!!!????
😅
I had an issue here with installing the sim here. But it was a matter of my VRS pedals being plugged into a different USB port then it all came together. 3:00 The feedback I worked with all day for hours using my Fanalab and Fanatec software to the game's settings in FFB. Having not much Dampening effect within the center of my steering to then get some Dampening avout 3/4s way in an apex is not working for me. This causes me to over steer and not feel the car thus losing control. After hours of experimenting with this I then jumped back into ACC and the strength and force with Dampening was so much nicer. Even in rFactor 2 I have some nice strong strength and torque with solid Dampening and tire effect on the road surface. RaceRoom has a beautiful sound and it's a fast fun ride, but this feedback in the FFB department is really not working for me. And if I adjust it to where it doesn't do this then I almost have no FFB. It's too easy to handle in the center and I can't feel shit, then into a radius of a turn I then get hit with Dampening. It also feels like the wheel has no grip in the center of my steering radius and the wheel wants to force itself to the right or left. A weird feeling!! Not good for me, maybe not for you, but for me this sucks at any higher speed. I've tried to reconfigure it all with adjustments and it's either too strong where my wheel base feels clipy or sloppy or hardly no FFB at all. Bummer. They need to fix this. So the Feedback is strong but smooth, sensitive to the road's surface and dampening at a given level all across the steering spectrum.
Well... I just started pondering this again cause I do like Raceroom. I clicked on FFB and Inverted within the game. And not it's sold Dampening and grip from center to full steering spectrum?! I thought I tried that yesterday. But now were getting someplace!! Fun! Most of all my Sim problems are self inflicted I think anyway. 😉😉🏁🏁🏆🏆
it runs pike a dog in vr w a 4090.
track rubber, 24 hours cycle, graphics also will be great
I just tried it and all my setting have disappeared. So disappointing.
I bought a gaming PC a few months ago. Then I bought all imaginable racing sims. AMS1, rFactor, rFactor2, AMS2, subscribed to iRacing... everything. But I just go back to Assetto Corsa. It has pretty crap ai but then so does rF2. But nothing beats the actual driving feel of the original AC. I'm sure ACC is the best simulator but it's doing just one thing. Never tried Raceroom. I guess it's 100% online game, not offline right?
Biggest OGs remember Race 07. It is sad that you have to pay for every content in RaceRoom.. like iracing :/ But still this is
Race 07 is actually very nice. I just hate that the settings are kind of messed up for wheel players.
@@Knuckles_approves I played only two racing games - Race 07 and AC and I am glad to have experience in both games. Sadly RaceRoom is not for me as there is no option for modding/skinning.
bro raceroom is free iracing is a paid subscription how yu gon compare the two? how yu wannt official cars for free when the game is already free
@@myashamoore5239 bruh... Sorry that I compare totally different scenarios. I am saying with AC/raceroom you buy and go. With iracing you have to pay every month. Thats okay I have money but I dont need to pay every single month to race like 3-4 races per week. So sorry that I offend you jeez.
@@aliasxavikronic did you download the championship mod? It had almost 30+ gbs of 30+tracks, God I can't count the cars. It was more than 100+, skins, and series'.
It crashes all the time and the Radeon drivers are not working after I reset the PC.
I uninstalled the game and the PC fixed itself somehow
Raceroom desperately needs a graphics update
who cares about graphics when tyres physics is broken? hopefully this update is is big as it sounds
@@yanushkowalsky1402 if you look at the poll on racedepartment you will find the majority care about graphics :)
Its is very important, think 90% of potential players it will be THE argument. Eyecandy is an very important immersion factor, as most of the gamers never did drive a race-car nor a real street legal sports car, like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche etc.
Iracing is one of the most played and high rated sim in the wold and graphicly is not the big thing, I wouldn't say is really necessary a graphic update in raceroom there's a bunch of other improvements that can be made instead😊
But is this a sim like AC and iracing or is it arcade?
Raceroom is build on the same physics platform as rFactor and the first Automobilista. Of course by now there had been many changes on rFactor2 / LeMans Ultimate and Raceroom etc. so it is not like they are identical, but the base has been the same. - Rene
i would actually like to play the game, but the amount of paid stuff is scaring me off lol
Like many of you - I've sunk too much money into RRE. I've reached my limit with this package. It's been my least played SIM for years. It's been a cash cow for too long.
It's nice they're planning to do HUGE amounts of work to correct the flawed package - but until I see a new GFX engine I won't install this on my new PC. I won't buy any DLC for now either. I own almost all content. I'm tired of lapping with dated day/dry scenarios. They need to update it all to get the standards higher. The physics/tyre changes are overdue. Nice to see it getting some love. Plus, it can be ported across to a new GFX engine.
But for me, this update won't be enough to install the title. I'll wait for them to finally polish the game in other areas to make it modern. I've had the least value from this game than anything else. So, no new GFX engine, no install for me. I hope they conclude GFX work in 2024 - when AC2 could see light of day. Because when iRacing and AC2 bring their newest updates, this for me will make RRE more dated. Good luck KW Studios.
The physics and graphics should have been updated without excuses 2 years ago. But it was easier to keep milking fans of the platform and hold off the most important developments. I'll return when RRE gets proper passion from the DEVS, but not before.
in the past im driving real karts and graphics not its all in simulator.
@@Luksredut Agreed, RRE is a very dated platform showing it's poor performance and age for years. It needs bringing up to modern standards in physics, suspension, tyres, weather, day/night - to make it more real to life. Well said...
I think that they ruined the sound...
The 25 people who play it daily will be pleased.
They know its still a better use of time than wasting it on iRacing
upgrade the directX already!
it needs new graphics, not new physics
Bro, are you really putting graphics over gameplay?
@@Knuckles_approves the only thing keeping it back to me. After this many years it is. There where many physics update over the years and no graphics. Even rf2 got gfx updates, makes a huge deal for immersion.
Go play Forza, great graphics...
ngl I had the lowest end cp while playing this. And what I have now, it's not bad.
@@viktorianasthat's what fanboys say. This Sim looks terrible no matter how good it feels. Also the physics in RF2 are a 1000times better and they upgraded the graphics.
Raceroom is dead to the mass majority because it looks so bad. Not liking the graphics doesn't mean you should go play Forza.
Iracing graphics are not good either but still better than RRE. Look at the in car dashes half them you can't read or it's blurry low res text.
Iracing is king of all aspects of sim racing from ffb too multiplayer experience and day/night cycles and Rain coming by December so not sure why I'm here.
Have a great time on this "massive update" when we all know they said this every couple of years but it doesn't change anything
This is a simulator but it's able to tell you the tire wear in %? 😂
I think it's a pragmatic statistical approximation. I don't mind it. Works for me. An alternative is to memorise the variation of tyre temp, calculate average lap times vs deltas and/or analyse grip telemetry whilst racing.
In any case, the car tells (yells at) you when it's time to switch them.
Genuinely interested as I don't know that much: what would you suggest?
Do you know the exact tire wear percentage in real racing? no you feel it when you drive the car.
They should remove it completly. It's not realistic
