I play Raceroom almost every days. Best sim for me. Best online races, the content is huge, the physics is so good ! Without night and rain, everything is predictable, that makes focus on the driving skills, no fake winner there ! The new tires model is not a revolution, just a good improvement, feels even more realistic to me. Thanks for that great video.
2:35 There is a ranked schedule which is usually posted biweekly, but for the holidays they rotated the tracks after each race. There are official Ranked Championships too. The current season is on hold until after the holidays, then the final round for each series will take place. They also host esports championships for DTM etc.
@@ARIE.23 going back to earlier this year, they did have rookie servers that rotated through the tracks from the Starter Pack, and the featured race servers were biweekly. They've been tweaking their schedule format for a while.
R3E is now my favourite -always come back to it - however it flew under my radar for so long. It just does does not have much exposure so I didn't even made an effort to look into it. Now I'm glad I did. The adaptive AI is very decent. The graphics are not eye candy yet they do the job. The physics and the audio is what does it for me and the new tyre update really has made it my go-to. It is just an enjoyable and challenging experience. Not a lot of ranked races though.
Just a correction on the game cost for all content to this point @ARIE... You say it costs around 100 Euro, but in fact it doesn't cost more than 60 euro,IF you buy a vRp pack of 10.000 points (R3E currency)
any chance you go a video on that custom dash :D Mine looks basic LOL and that one you had in first clip is what I am looking for. Just tried this game and it is the best!
I recently decided to give raceroom a go after loving the Clio and TCR series in iRacing and seeing raceroom has a much better selection of TCR cars and circuits. After a few hours racing the ai in the Lada TCR on the free tracks I decided to just buy the full content library. Hopefully there are some leagues going - definitely an underrated game.
RaceRoom is truly a great sim and I do love it. Unfortunately, the biggest issue is they tend to make updates long after they were needed. Sadly this has dwindled down the user base to low numbers. Also it still drastically needs a graphics overhaul to compete with current gen racing sims. And I'm sure they will at some point but the question remains, will it be too late? I genuinely love the new tire model. It feels great and I hope it attracts lots of new users but we'll have to wait and see. Great Video! Glad to see you've found the hidden gem of RaceRoom and thank you for giving it more exposure!
Hey, thanks for the kind words! 100% Agreed on the graphics overhaul, I didn't even mention it in my video (I think) but that could buy them more time for sure. I listened to Traxxion-podcast where they interviewed the Raceroom studio lead a while back, I would recommend it: th-cam.com/video/-JOdPkyoHH8/w-d-xo.html (Also dropped a sub on your channel, keep up the good work!)
One thing that always bothered me about raceroom is that there is an incredible amount of on throttle understeer. Barely touching the throttle makes the front end push hard. Other than that though, I love raceroom
The only thing I don't like is that other cars don't seem to be equivalent like I've seen cars that are like bullets compared to others. Also the graphics could be a little better.
Nice video, thanks for giving some attention to my absolute favourite sim. I am no expert and that is very subjective of course, but for me Raceroom just gives the best experience of all racing sims I have tried so far. Just in case, are you maybe interested in racing with a friendly and respectful community, hosting weekly races (SCB community, EU based, mostly Raceroom, competitive but not too serious, no obligations)?
I was a huge raceroom fan but it’s a game on life support. Since the big new update the cars drive beautifully BUT the big update destroyed the AI they are completely broken, online numbers have dropped off a cliff, the two weekly rotation has always been a terrible idea and until they create a new graphics engine that has day and night time progression as a minimum this games player base will continue to shrink and shrink which is very sad for me to type because this was the sim I played the most fours years ago. But with each year that passes I play it less and less.
Yeah, that's a bit of a shame for sure. If the could somehow 2x or even 3x the amount of players it would be so much better. Easier said than done probably.
The only reason i sont play raceroom is because of the poor vr compatebillity. Its genuinely unplayable because of constant stuttering, while even acc which also isnt vr optimised runs just fine on my pc.
watched your content for quite a while now, gonna sub as its consistently good stuff rr is really good but everyone cries over basic stuff like graphics or accuracy which really takes away from great titles like this one even though it does its job great and arguably better than others *cough* iracing paid content *COUGH* - bad throat sorry
I’d kill to play race room. But it has the worst / no triple monitor support and I just can not abide single screen racing in 2024. It’s the one and only sim you can not run without using garbage nvidia surround.
sorry but I totally disagree with you... Raceroom is terrible if you play offline... no career mode, no mods, very limited customization AI drivers and teams, poorly balanced AI difficulty for different tracks. So if you play only online maybe you would like Raceroom but for offline racing there is nothing to do here
I definitely agree with you in the balance of the AI drivers, that seems a bit odd. All the other arguments you bring up are valid for sure, but those didn’t grind my gears. I feel like the simplicity of the single player I also a strength. Thanks for sharing!
The career modes in other sims are terrible. AC has awful AI and the career mode in ACC is very poor. AMS2 isn't really a realistic sim, as it's far too forgiving, and has no career mode (yet). Introducing a career mode in RR would be practically impossible, due to the way content is released; everyone has different car/track combinations. The only 'sim' to offer a decent career mode was PCars.
I definitely disagree with this comment. Racing the Ai and creating your own championship is part of the sim racing charm. Configuring Ai in any sim can be a headache.
Another great video Arie! Keep it up!!

online races is maybe good but RaceRoom offline experience is awful. for this reason I deleted this sim

Ah ok, didnt know that. I kinda liked the rotating schedule like this though! Thanks for your input

100% agree. Trying to find a lobby in N.A. with good ping and a I'd want to join, has been hard. A good sim that doesn't get the love it deserves.
I'm over 2000 hours in to this game.

@@deangelis777 I now agree with you, something did change. Hopefully they'll get it fixed in the next update.
Raceroom is one of my two favorite sims. In the competition mode, you can participate to get a shot at some free VRP.
THATS DOPE
I don‘t know if it was mentioned before, but If you buy the total package by VRP, you only have to spend 70€ for all content in raceroom, not 100€.
100% Raceroom is my favourite sim, hope more player will join after the last major update, come oon :))))
That GT4 Lotus is really fun to drive once you turn the TC to minimum (TC6), then it comes alive :)

I tried it when I first got my Gpro but couldnt get it to work .Im downloading it again now .Graphics look better than i racing to me btw

Lada TCR is such a wagon. Even on Gridfinder there are not a lot of leagues, I'm tempted to join one of the official races they do from time to time.
Are you locked to cocpit view or is there hood cam too ?

popular or not, it's a great sim racer. It's only con is the super strict track limits and the penalty for going outside of them
8:59 That was the most generous slowdown in receroom. You are meant just to lift a little😂
lmao true
That title belongs to Automobilista (1). I still play it for hotlapping and the experience.
Ok well, gonna have to agree there lol. Let’s just say Raceroom is the most underrated sim of those still in development to save my ass.
@@ARIE.23 Mooi dat we het daarover eens zijn ;) Mocht je eens willen racen, let me know!

Not enough online in ranked for me. Tried it today, still the same 30 people playing.
How about realism, graphics etc?

cool i pick the same livery for f4
Y'all forgetting about the best thing about RaceRoom....the menu music is the best out there!!!
