The confidence with which Lewis grants his character game breaking abilities and items without the DMs knowledge is frankly inspirational
And it seemed Tom was almost TOTALLY on board, he seemed to love it, which is great
@@Grindzy56Because he recognized that his character actually did roll these abilities in the character creation; yet had forgotten over the course of the game. Absolute gold star material as a GM. ❤️
he knows he is the one who wrights Toms paycheck
Write wright right in future
Its called auto correction, also it's write not right or wright. For future reference xD
Lewis plays such a credible antagonist. He was so creative in the ways he screwed over the rest of the crew.
I wonder where he gets his inspiration...
Great play by Lewis. I also had a few sessions with Mothership, most of the time the robot will 'switch side' because it's a tool of corpo but Lewis plays it up.
"If it bleeds... then it's hurt." Just Ben dropping a new legendary quote.
My mouth fell open at 46:40 "Engage armaments". Absolutely wonderful
Same! My surprise was absolutely palpable
I love how Tom just decided to just do things he and the yogs enjoy. Too many channels are afraid of taking risks. Risks are when you create the really good content.
The content rocks but look at the views. I think this channel is only supported by 8 people total if you check the channel page. This is really fun content but it doesn’t seem profitable
@@GreenEyedDazzler TH-cam will only show you 8 members at a time. Refresh the page and it'll show you different ones. At the same time the Patreon is at 389 members, so I'm pretty sure the channel is doing fine.

Tom did a really good job of spinning the bad rolls in this episode. Helps the luck feel less unfair
My favorite was, “You’re drunk so you have advantage.” xD
yeah hes a good DM. his top priority is for everyone to have fun. :)
Love how over the past few episodes and different games you can see Lydia really grow into the role playing.that Sonia Babes was like a line from Eastenders.
Fully agree, Lydia has been an absolute delight in all her games!
Saying that the team "stormed" Dr. Giovanni's lab is certainly a generous interpretation of events
At least he didn't blow himself up with his own grenade this time. That's GOOD for Simon.
If you think about it, a space station with a self-destruct system is just a big grenade.
If he did, he'd just go space-home and have a space-pie and a space-wank
@@QaRajhCreationsnot a hyper-wank?
@@QaRajhCreations a space-rabbit space-pie
One of the best play-throughs Lewis has done in a while. Genius ending for that character
I would love to see a sequel Mothership playthrough.
I would love to see a space operatic series with Ben and Lydia's characters returning, with two new allies, of course
That would be fantastic
I love the look when Lewis said “engage armaments” like he’s been waiting for this
This has been my favourite mystery quest by far, and one of my top role play mini series in general. The system really works for the style and Ben and Lewis taking it more seriously let’s Simon and Lydia make jokes while still staying on theme and target. This has been a real winner, looking forwards to seeing more like it
The Mystery Quest intros are amazing, this channel has been such a weekly highlight for me, can't wait for the next Mystery Quest!
I'd really love to see a semi-regular compilation video of all the intro bits. Maybe like twice a year would be cool?
Lewis killing it with the roleplay, always finds a cold robotic way to say things. And that secret objective stuff was very cool and new for yogs roleplay, do that again!
It'll get boring if it kept getting repeated though it's best to be done once in a while so we don't expect it happening.
The single character interludes with the music are just golden, such a great addition
Kentaro, NOOOOOOOO! Well at least Ann had the balls to do what needed to be done. Glad that it wasn't a party wipe, but sad that it's over! Really loved every second of this rp, thank you Tom! (and Lydia, Simon, Lewis, Ben. Love you all!)
omg, that ending was amazing, Lewis was fantastic haha
Lewis’ villain arc was the greatest twist of all time. Absolutely love the mysterious questing and I can’t wait for more!
The Petunias: "Oh no, not again."
Thank you crew!!
Not enough RPGs pit the player characters against each other like this, but when it happens it's always so cool to see. I love when you include secret objectives like this, and the recording format where you can insert prerecorded footage like that is so awesome, like a real flashback.
Lewis's face palm at the end was so typical Lewis. Everytime that guy thinks he has the upper hand, deck stacked for the house to always win......he gets killed by an invisible monster.
Those plays by Lewis at the end… wow.
I never realised that TCH stands for Tom Clarke Hehehe
I love the idea that the android and doctor had their own secret goals, but nobody tried to get the captain or marine to do something because they'd just fuck it up.
This is the first time I've actually subscribed or whatever to a youtube channel, because I need more of this in my life. Keep up the good work.
In classic table top fashion, the mine was heavily teased, and the players never went there. 😆
This has been my favourite Mystery Quest series yet, and they've all been so great. Definitely the best Yogs content this year for me. Can't wait to see what's next!
18:45 Lydia's character is hilarious~
favorite youtube channel, tom is the perfect dm. He is always so good with roleplay scenarios and helping others bring their inner roleplayer out
I love the DM glee of Tom when Lewis asks the ship to engage armaments and the other couple of plot twists
Now I'm picturing a version of Dead Space 2 with Carol and Jake bumbling around the Sprawl.
I went from going "when is Lewis going to play into his motivation" to "whoa that's a lot of motivation", haha.
God I love this show
I love the intros. Please keep them up.
Side note, I would love a slightly longer story. Not a 100 episodes. But maybe 10-20. Even if someone dies, they can play a new character in the next episode or something. That kinda thing. But I. Understand quality matters more than quantity, so prioritise quality. I still love these shorter stories.
Yeah that would be really fun. Unfortunately I think from an audience perspective (people drop off over long series + new people don't want to start something 12 hours in) and from a filming perspective (hard to line up schedules and ask people to 100% commit their days for free over multiple weeks), it is unlikely to happen.
iirc tom specifcally said they're gonna stick to shorter series so people don't have to wait too long for another game if they don't enjoy the current one
I don't think that's the angle they are going for.
@finleyjennings6051 Tom did mention in a members' Q&A that they might do some slightly longer series eventually once the channel is more settled in, stuff is figured out, and they know who would actually show up regularly. But it's just one-shots of about this length for now, so if anyone wants things to reach that point, just keep supporting the channel until things can get there!
Lewis plays the villain with sinister proficiency
First time I tumble with your channel. Man, Lewis performs amazing as the android.
Very good game, very good guests.
38:10 That look Simon gives Lewis 👌
Simon dropping the Zeroth law of robotics
Another classic Brindley betrayal
I like the idea that this is Ben and Lydia's space-pirate backstory, and will lead into further adventures with these two characters and actions against TCH Corp or whatever. Forever, wandering the galaxy, Haunted... by the events on Ypsilon 14.
"Engage Armaments"
o.o WHAT
My favourite line
That was a really fun story, I kinda wish they got more answers but I guess the post-game chat will have that covered.
More Mothership but cycle in other players and scenarios! Any other firmly obscure TTRPG would also be enjoyable too, but I feel like the horror and genre movie vibes were impeccable for everybody
Cmon, no one else get the huge Shadow of Israphel ref in there? Um Bongo's beloved "take me with you!". Anyway fantastic adventure, can't wait for more!
This is my favorite role play on the net right now!
If anyone is curious, here’s some additional info about this module:
The monster always escapes the player’s ship if the players leave without killing it. In order to kill it they likely have to chase it into the mines, where it retreats to its regenerative goo bath after taking damage. Every 10 minutes the monster either attacks a player if they’re alone, or kills one of the npcs on the station. The best way to kill the monster is a pair of thermal goggles in the scientist’s ship. Additionally loud sound can be used to stun it. The cat can also see the monster. The yellow goo slowly kills anyone it touches.
Do you know if you only need to buy the module to have all the info to DM this or is there a document/book for the base rules?
@@moramie84This module is separate from the base rules book. There should be a free pdf online if you want to read the rules. It’s called “mothership warden operations manual,” There’s also a separate player’s handbook which should have a pdf.
Amazing episode, loved everyone's characters in this think they all grew into their roles really well and fun to see the hidden objectives play out. Lydia was amazing, really fun character that she played well! Great DMing (Warden-ing?) from Tom, really enjoyed the moments of genuine tension and spooky atmosphere - though often punctured by the goofs of this crew!
53:00
i probably would have gone along the lines that the self destruct would be core overload, tom could panic Ben and Lydia with a brief countdown, and all that would happen would be a light bulb blew out in the cockpit or something as that was all the extra power the core could generate.
this NEEDS a sequel! PLS Papa Tom!
Been waiting for this all day ❤
Just finished my dinner, but I come across this feast of an upload.. there's always room for a Mystery Quest though!
I love the "We sold the self destruct"
More Mothership content! This actual play series was so fun.
My favourite actual play one-shot I've seen, the pacing and the story were incredible and the actions of all the crew (especially Lewis' antagonism at the end) were so cinematic and great. Can't wait to see what the next quest is!
R.I.P Jerome, he went out with a bang, doing what he loved.😂
This was amazing. Everyone played their tropes brilliantly
Ngl need a another follow up from this it’s ended like a open book so good
Utter perfection. I'm glad Lewis really stuck to his goal, and I adored Simon's attempt at fulfilling his. Can't wait for more from this channel, this was loads of fun to watch.
Damn! That ending was fantastic!!
This is a comment for the algorithm gods
i love that half of these comments are about the first 30s of the video where tom makes up a whacky story
What a great little series. Good story, great storytelling, great audio editing, great character and well-played at that. Good times had, all around.
I loved all their characters!! I would watch a whole cartoon series of Ben and Lydia's characters adventuring though space 😂
Loving Mystery Quest! Not nearly enough subscribers on this channel. Really prefer these shorter-scale role playing game sessions. Can actually finish a story, unlike a critical role or other longer form game.
Commenting for the algorithm since this channel is awesome and I want more people to see it 😊
Best one so far, and I must say, Lewis _really_ committed to the role! Was great!
Loved the haunting in space. Classic stuff. I'd love to see a Colostle or Vaesen episode in the future, but really I'll watch any mystery you decide is worthy of questing in! Peace.
Loved this one. Is it a standalone thing, or could you do another in the same world? Would love to see it!
Yay! More mothership! Loving this so much, ive watched every episode so far with my brothers and they love it too!
I cannot wait to see what game will be up next week and how Simon will die or nearly die almost straight away!
I would love to see another Mothership adventure :3
I think an Adventure 5 years later after the Pilot and Corporal get out of a Government run Facility where the Corporal had to serve time for being awol and the Captain/Pilot had to go back to piloting school ;p. Though anyway they get out and still have the Tempest but it's been maintained and Retrofitted with new tech
This was the best mystery quest yet! (I think that every time, in fairness) Mothership is a game I've really wanted to play for a while, and this was super cool to watch - even moreso with the absolute shitshow that was the luck of everyone's dice throughout. The constant failing-forward throughout this playthrough really made it feel tense. Great job everyone, looking forward to the next game!
I loved all of this! So good! The escalation, the dice rolls, the comedy, Twists! Love it Tom! More yes more I say. :D
I absolutely love that this ended, so open ended. It allows another series of Mothership, while also (somewhat) completing this story. I absolutely adore this channel.
Could be my favourite series so far! Loved the roleplay, loved the setting! The system seems ok! Pretty similar to Call of Cthulu but the mechanic of gaining stress after each failed roll seems more detrimental than fun.
What an amazing series;A; thank you warden Tom and the amazing crew!!! I think this was my favourite series on the channel so far
Man this channel is the best thing to happen to yogs in literal ages
I've always said Tom is my favourite GM on the internet. This finale really cements that opinion.
PLEASE continue playing Mothership, this has been an absolutely blast of a series and I am already craving for more!
Probably my favourite roleplay series of all time, amazing work Tom and co!
Hot coffee machine turns on (c)
The best moment!
definitley need to do more Mothership
Absolutely loved Mothership, the ending was such a good set up for a continuation like the previous Edge of the Empire games, even if one never happens. That post credit scene was incredible and something I can vividly picture in an actual horror movie / game.
An amazing series with such a great ending, I was in hysterics! Can’t wait for the next one!
Ah been waiting for this all week!
I would absolutely love to see you run 10 candles for people like Ben and Lewis. More of that horror angle, but you can make bigger and bigger consequences until the very end. This and Cthulu has fully sold me on d100 games, and your style and the players give & take was very compelling in this story.
Sometimes I play horror or sci-fi games and the table shies away from the tropes so heavily, but an entertaining story can do with a handful! Loved this so much. Thank you Mystery Quest!
This story was so good, the characters really started to take shape.
That was absolutely brilliant! Loved the ending!
This was so amazing, can't wait for next week!
I forever hope this channel keeps going, they are absolutely so much fun. All their characters were phenomenal and Lewis wins best Android award easy.
Loving these Mystery Quests, keep them coming.
Amazing, thanks guys!
This was genuinely one of my favorite RP games I've ever watched, and its inspired me to buy the "death in space" book to run my own spooky space adventures! Thank you Tom and Yogs for making this wonderful short series!
Definitely would love more of this setting
Well done! The ending was incredible.
This might be my favorite series yet!
This has been sooooo good!!! Loving it!!!
this has been my favorite MQ series so far! can't wait for the next one.
this is the highlight of my week, every week
This was a fantastic series. Now to find out the secrets in the post-game...
Thank you for the amazing adventure and Mystery Quest!
