when inspecting a board like that, if you see a thermal fuse (the things that look like big green resistors, theres one next to 2 electrolytics) buzz them out with a continuity tester

great job! can anybody give me any suggestion please. my w166 boot keeps locking from time to time and when it opens it makes noise (little blust in the front part of the car, someware near the engine) and produces smelly smoke 😟😦😟

That’s not good. Smoke is very bad. You’ve got wires shorted out where the smoke is coming from. I would get that looked at before your car starts on fire.

Hi Aussie Jack, just watched this video and have come to the exact conclusion but I'am none the wiser to fixing my problem. Is there another video explaining how to fix the problem. Just to confirm, I checked the circuit board and all looks good,I then checked to see if the the motor in the lift arm was working the same way you did and it's working. And lastly I took off the button on the top of the door and all looks good as well. Now just stumped on how to rectify problem. Please help. PS were abouts in Australia do you live??

Hi Paul, my ECU looked good and the motor worked So I was also confused. I took it to an Indy; they could not talk to the old ECU, only the new one. Unfortunately they could not program the new one, so off to the dealer I went.
