There's a definite pattern to the deletion. But when I pointed out on other channels the comments were deleted as well. It is not offensive or vulgar comments. @JAERepair yes youtube is weeding out troll accounts and negative responses it's a censorship that's debatable but I don't hate it I have a extremely great core group of people that make comments and I appreciate good constructive criticism and unfortunately the world is changing so silencing some people is okay and not having to deal with them makes my work much more enjoyable.

    My issue with it, is that snap on used that "test" any time they tried to push those wrenches on somebody, now that they got beat on a plastic nut now its an old irrelavent test lol and then every test they did at the expo against icon you can tell they manipulated the icon wrenches to make them slip almost instantly lol hell i bought the icon wrenches because of the price mainly, that sale they had on the weekend was too good to pass up...but yes as we talk tools its always up to the audience to decide on what fits their budget

      Oh and let me add the excuse that the snappy boys say "made in usa" for price points, support thy neighbor but in these days can you really trust your neighbor, usa made should be affordable yet we get price gouged on our own soil but the reason its not is because in the USA we complain about pay, we want more pay and do less work so then the price of manufacturing goes up

      @@shannondickenson8294 yessss bro, and then we complain when the prices go up, it took me until recently to realise that even at the dealer, we complain about our labor rate being to high yet we want raises to keep up with the economy, which in turn we end up with less customers buying services and repairs 🥴🥴

    • @CPthetooladdict
      @CPthetooladdict  22 วันที่ผ่านมา +7

      @FluffyMexicanik Let us work together towards making the price more affordable. Unfortunately, customers often compare our prices to those of other brands like Snap-on and pro tools, which they use as an excuse for the high cost of repairs. This is a hypocritical situation since we cannot create more jobs or generate self-sustaining economic growth if we continue to outsource our work to other countries. The reality is that Made in the USA is not just an excuse, but a fact that leads to greater wealth and job security, which in turn benefits the nation as a whole. To avoid becoming like other third-world countries that rely on external support, we need to focus on building our own economy and sustaining growth from within.

I don't care how many tools a mechanic has you body will take a beating over time. In this day of high inflation we are all looking for value. As a mater of fact I had this same conversation with a landscaper tonight that does his own repairs ,&
    maintenance on his equipment and vehicles. Yesterday he just purchased a metric set of Icon wrenches & uses them ad a DIY. For his apication it works for him & I must agree with him. Well said CP but I miss your right hand, SUNNY. God Bless, get well, & stay safe. TMP from N.J.

    Well said. This whole Snap-On vs HFT Icon debate is as silly as knocking down someone for buying their first car be it a pinto or a fiesta, instead of congratulating them for making it in the tool world. It’s not like all are or were Snap-On target customers to start with. We all know who the top brands are, but most and especially first buyers, may choose value instead. You know, the old adage of a saying, where quality and price intersect. Anything else is just a piss contest.

    Most people don’t disagree that Snap-On is professional and Icon is DIY grade. Most people are just looking for the closest thing to prograde at an affordable price. Snap On is amazing but you need to make $400,000 a year to afford hand tools, power tools, specialized hand tools, diagnostic tools, tool chests all made by Snap -On. Otherwise you’ll spend your career in debt. How long something lasts is almost irrelevant with lifetime warranties. Sure ICON could disappear but with inflation, so can Snap-on. And don’t tell me people don’t break snap on tools.

      Meanwhile I've had to warranty 2 Snap-On sockets in the last 3 years, Snap-On isn't the quality it used to be and people are insane for paying today's prices for it. They're 3-4x as expensive as they used to be not long ago.

      I completely agree. I’ve been a Heavy Truck Technician for 34 years. In tech school we had the SnapOn stuff blown up our asses. I have worked most of my career with Craftsman. I do have a fair amount of SnapOn and Mac, but have decided that I’m tired of paying huge money for their stuff. Mac has gotten very bad about foreign made stuff at high prices. I’ve been replacing Craftsman with Icon and am very happy with their quality and customer service. Remember, it’s the technician that makes the tools, not the tools that make the technician.

    IIRC: That plastic nutblock is Snap-On truck demo prop provided by SO (not free).
    I paid less than that ICON box for my Snap-On box off the truck new 2018 when they code named it IQON KCP series. I believe the SO rep felt bad for me for 60% off MSRP (as that discount only applied to me and other tech discount differed drastically and grateful for the rep) .

      That is interesting information if they were providing them. However to me even that being the case Snap-Ons own test is flawed which Sherwood proved in a follow-up video the other day. The teeth are more aggressive on the Snap-On wrenches and eat through the plastic more than the Icon opposed to gripping it. The opposite is true on metal. The Snap-On bite into the metal better than Icon and grip it better.

    Cp you hit it right on a nose. What we have to learn is not to follow the marketing. Usually I try to buy good quality tools in the mid-range whether it be off the truck online or at harbor freight most of the time. The harbor freight stuff is only good for a little while. As long as it gets the job done then I'm working on and I haven't spent a lot of money on it. I really don't matter to me but that's me. I'm not making my living and supporting a family to where I can think like that so we all have choices. Bottom line when you're going tool shopping, Go to whoever you can afford that has decent quality stuff. Keep you off a tool truck. It can be from harbor freight it could be from a flea market or garage sale as long as this tool works for you. That's all that matters. It don't have to be shiny and new I've had wrenches for over 35 years. I've had harbor freight stuff for over 35 years. Yeah the wrenches didn't last. I have some nut drivers that are still good and I have some screwdrivers that are still good. Go figure. Butt, this was back when quality was still there in this country I remember when harbor freight was selling Milwaukee and and Stanley air nailers back in the day. Harbor freight was once a good company that went corporate.

To only turn around and see a certain tool channel take us inside Tribus and tell us what a great company and product they have. The Texas Twister, every Texas Twister I have seen is like brand new because the tech tried it 2 or 3 times and it failed, and yet again a certain tool channel was on a truck with The Texas Twister on sale giving it the full promo. I actually carry old craftsman ratchet combo wrenches and snap on every day. For the size nuts he uses I try to not use a tool to install them and just go hand tight while I push hard from the other side. I usually use my cobras and go like 1/4 turn past hand tight at most if I can’t make them stop leaking. I was going to grab the hf sets to try but I didn’t want to pay full price for them and do my trick going back to get my money back. They were sold out when I got there on Tuesday. Ive bought tools on the truck, for years.(since 87) but I've bought tools at oreilly as well. And auto zone. Been equally happy with both.

    I don’t care what people buy I have a bit of everything. I actually picked up the HF wrenches this past week outside the video about busting a nut… I’ve used the SO and they seem to be an overall better quality wrench. But the icon are certainly more than enough for the home gamer. I wanted wrightgrips but just couldn’t afford them right now and I needed some more aggressive wrenches now. What I do find funny is the same people who woulda used this test as a “GOTCHA!!” Are now saying it’s invalid and just a nylon nut (not talking about you CP). It’s either a valid test (which it probably wasn’t then or now) or it’s not. Buy tools you enjoy and move on folks. It’s not worth wasting time and energy being like a rabid animal over a tool brand.

      @@CPthetooladdict definitely all gimmicks. But it works. They get the sales. I was once fooled by an as seen on tv product. Never again did I buy something without using some defective reasoning first. I will admit I did buy the icon wrenches but the nylon nut didn’t sway me. I wanted the Carlyle wrenches but wasn’t willing to shell out $180. $70 I could justify. Can never have too many wrench options when it comes to busting a nut in NY salt hell. I have the C-Man Overdrive but 6 point box end is a hassle on tight spaces. And as dumb of a reason as it sounds i loathe the gunmetal chrome. It makes it feel like I’m using the equivalent of a gas station knife. Trying to look badass.
