I am an auto mechanic for a living but every shop I ever worked had the " Air Tool Rule " for Paul Harvey,, when Paul came on no one used air tools because they were loud and the compressor would come and be even louder. During lunch, we would gather around the shop radio at lunch and listen to Paul's longer lunchtime broadcast. Some times customers would sit around too and listen, they pretty much knew if Paul was on nothing was getting worked on. I miss those days greatly. A true American Icon Paul Harvey is.

I remember paul harvey on the radio like we all do .. but i 1st heard his voice on a 1949 dodge pickup radio as my dad was going to work and i was with my father in the early morning in the early 70's i was 10 to 14 may even been 16 years old my father worked at a dump ground pushing dirt over the trash but was thrown in a big deep hole.. but i will always remember those older times going to work with my dad and in this old dodge pickup .. i sure miss my father today and yet thanking him for allowing me to hear what he listen to on the way to his job every morning as paul Harvey's saying Good day.. im saying it to all !!

Did Mr Harvey really have any peers? Especially these days, most people in mainstream media march obediently in step behind a Pied Piper brandishing a squeaky wheel. They see those who are not mesmerized in this way as a threat to their status and a slur on their choice of the busy path on which they travel. Paul Harvey encouraged and admonished, because he cared, through actual news stories and he served a Master not in a rat race but in a higher place. Not everyone can be Billy Graham or Paul Harvey or a true maverick of earnest hard-working character who dares to take on an all-powerful Swamp crawling with deadly beasts and the innumerable spawn of the original serpent. They have chosen wrongly and are jealous of the good ones who strive to do what's right. Sadly, they don't believe so they don't understand repentance is a good thing, and they keep striking out in fear and anger. I always remember the story of the church community wanted this particular piece of property but the owner would not sell. Ian day there was a terrific storm. Then the water rose and rose eventually lifting the church off its foundation. The building. Came to rest on the very spot the congestion wanted. Thank you. Mr Paul Harvey.

He was the GREAT communicator before Ronald Reagan assumed the title, and I can say that as a life long Iowan, from where our president got his start in radio. As a young boy my mother every morning had the radio on while getting ready for work. I could not help but listen and try hard to understand his story's. One story stood out for me and to this day 2021 I still remember it as tho it was then 50 years ago. That story was about John James Audubon. I cannot find it anywhere. An incredible story indeed. Now in my 70's, I've listened to Mr. Harvey for most of life; read many of his books. My life has been better, for his dedication to his craft. Am so happy to have come across him on that fateful day - on my AM car radio.
As a child, I can remember being in the car with my father, he had an Illinois Railroad pocket watch. He would check the time and turn the radio on for Paul Harvey, he listened to Paul Harvey every day. He got such pleasure out of listening, I remember being afraid that Mr. Harvey was old, what would my dad do if Mr. Harvey passed away. Well, a long story shortened, me and my brothers all listened to him. My dad passed away long before Mr. Harvey did but I still have some of the best memories in my life of being with my dad and listening to "The Rest of the Story."
I miss Paul Harvey's voice and I miss Billy Graham's voice as well, these two men commanded the English language like no other has done before. These two made you want to listen to what they had to say and believe what they were saying. That is truly missing in today's world. I listened to Paul Harvey driving to and from work and I loved his story telling and " that's the rest of the story!"

He painted a clear picture of' what you need. Was a fine gentleman from a different time. Guys like Paul are special to find! Thank you! RIP.

I'm glad I found this awesome video. Paul Harvey was such a big part of my life from childhood to my adult years. I had some interactions with Mr. Harvey over the years and was even invited once to sit across the desk from him while doing a live lunchtime broadcast! It was such an honor and a memory I have always cherished. ------- So here's The Rest Of My Story ... I actually asked the doctor in the delivery room during my son's birth if he could change the radio so we could hear Paul Harvey as they delivered my first child. LOL...
