You absolutely should have used a paint prep before the real coating. The detailer only lasts a couple weeks, so when that comes off, so will the top layer of ceramic coating. No matter what 303’s website says, it will always last longer when applied directly to clear coat.
I trust what the manufacturer and their chemist recommend. That would be like saying a primer polish that can be used as a stand alone product for months of protection or can be used a base and can be directly coated over with a true ceramic coating will only last months because that's all the primer coating will let as a stand alone product. When products are made from the same family of chemicals you have product synergy and work together perfectly fine.
@@autoforge the manufacturer saying it can be applied to “unprepped paint” does not mean you should apply it over wax for instance. That’s common sense. The coating will only last as long as the surface it’s applied to. In this case your base layer is the detailer which only lasts a few weeks. Unprepped just means no clay, or paint correction needed.
@@MistrZIGZAG If the surface had any wax or polishing oils you would be correct, but in this instance it is being applied over a compatible product. The manufacturer does not state that it can be applied to unprepped paint, the amount of prep needed will vary from car to car but in this case a simple light claying is all that was needed. As I said I trust what the manufacturer and their chemist recommend. Here's a video from 303 applying the Graphene Nano Spray Coating over their detailer without any panel prep being used. th-cam.com/video/VSXsIE362jI/w-d-xo.html
@@autoforge This is a question answered on 303's official youtube channel: @PowerV2010 My car has been previously treated with 303 Graphene , Can I use the Graphene Detailer with a clay mitt for a 2 yr maintenance re-apply instead of using the speed detailer featured in your video? After the Clay mitt I will re-apply the 303 Graphene coating spray . @303Products You can do that, it won't hurt anything. But Speed Detailer as a clay lubricant is more cost-effective than the Graphene Detailer. And if you're already going to re-apply Graphene Nano Spray Coating as a base protection, you will want to avoid adding a protective layer (Graphene Detailer) down first for best results. Again, won't hurt anything, but best practice is to lay down the most durable protection first, then top as needed with other products.

Curious why you don't shake the product in the dispenser prior to applying, especially since they contain graphine Oxide particles.
Let you in on a little secret. I always shake and make sure the nozzle is open prior to making the video.
So now, is my 303 ceramic coating obsolete?
No.
I’ve used this stuff and I’m sorry that stuff is not easy to come off. Works good but hard as hell to come off.
