@@Swag-ts8rf it's not a myth, if you don't shrink it with a heat gun then it'll have fingers crawling up, and down from the top of the window, separating the tint and making it look like shit. If you shrink it with a heat gun you can roll it down immediately.
Just don't roll your window down for 24-48 hours if you don't want to be a dumb ass. If you want to be "so different" then go ahead and roll em down immediately and defeat the purpose of getting tint to begin with.

You forgot to shrink also. Once you get your cuts around the window to shape out the tint, you’ll be left with various fingers on the bottom, that need to be heated. You’ll need to angle the heat gun, and go down the finger in a side to side motion, once the finger looks squiggly, give it a nice hit with the Hard card, and continue to do so on each finger until you are left with a solid piece of tint flat on the glass.
The only thing I'll be tinting is my blood pressure trying to get some cheap Walmart crap on my car. Better save the aneurysm and let professionals handle it.
How you think the pros started, with 100$ premium tint? No with some cheap 10$ Walmart film, all because you gave up on this easily doest mean other will 🤦

Legit after watching this video and your shrinking video I praticed tinting my enire station wagon including windshield and back glass till it was perfect. I bought a roll of tint and do cars in my neighborhood now as a side gig and make about an extra $500 per weekend for like a few hours of my time. Also learned ppf and wrapping (hoods, trunks, n roofs mainly)
This is what I am talking about they trying to give you 10 minutes tinting window lesson before they can get to the point thanks man for straight up talk and easy tools usage.

Window tint is like drywall work they make it look so easy then you to do it yourself and it looks like shit or worse it looks great for the moment until the imperfections show 😂
Can I put this over tint from a shop? I did my front windshield at 70 percent to block heat but they said if I want to add the visor tint as well it would void the warranty
I tried to do my rear driver side window and had to toss it!! But I see what I did wrong, forgot to squeegee the inside part. Gonna try again tomorrow, meaning Wednesday. Hopefully I have success

In my experience that Walmart tint on a roll stuff. Always hazes up, goes cloudy, or goes purple. Not to mention if it does cloud up, now you have to pay more for them to remove it

You can use a razor blade to remove any pitting on the window. Use a nice semi flat angle.
