      If you use catnip, valerian root and olives you'll get purrfect cat bait. Every cat in vincinity will love person smelling like this (basically friendly cat feromone bomb) XD

    So what ive learned from doing my own research on bells (this is from an Irish/Celtic tradition) are supposed to keep out the banshees and bad spirits so you hang them on your door for protection. Every time you hear the bells ring on the door its supposed to warn the spirits that they may not enter here.
    Also some fun folklore about the banshees is that supposedly if you hear their cry three times its supposed to mean someone in your family is going to die. So the bells also protect your family.

      @leekestner1554 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      It is also very practical just to know when someone comes through the door and you are in the other room. My father was a small grocer and always had bells on the store's door. I took to hanging bells on the door years ago and giving them extra majikcal charge for good measure. This makes me realize that I need to make new bells since I switched out the whole door and never made more.

      @@leekestner1554this. My mom hung bells on all our doors growing up so she could hear me and my brother leaving/coming. I miss bells on my doors but my cats are to scared of them.

      I think witch's bells are also called Devil Drivers because they drive away the devil (so the opposite of what they sound like).

      Yeah definitely. I have bells hanging on my front door doorknob so that every time me and my husband come in they clear off any negative energy. Sometimes my cats will randomly hit the bells once with their paws and that to me means they felt something was off and wanted to clear the energy as well 😊

    The exceptions are memes and pretty pictures.

    Little fun fact: people also often hang bells on their door for their dog to ring when they need to go out. Good double purpose or explanation to non witches if you have a pup

  • @jamielarsen3749
    @jamielarsen3749 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    You could take that same ring and make a little ribbon necklace, that way if the ring has some meaning then you can also wear it and use it as a pendulum. It'll also be weighted a little more evenly that way so it's easier to use.

    "You can put so much salt in something without it being too much salt" - me about my POTS 😂 I am really glad you showed us the diy pendulum. I use one for clarity on tarot readings because ya girl needs straightforward answers, but I use an old necklace that isn't very special. But I have gemstone rings I bought before then dedicated to Freya, or my amber necklace...that's also clearly for Freya 😂. Thank you for helping me find a better alternative!

    Your witches bells reminded me more of a witches ladder that you hang by the door for protection. It's origin from English Folk witch craft. To Tie items for protection on a twine and put by the door. it could be bells, sticks, feathers, stones, horn, bone or any protection or luck item for those who passed.

    • @ChaoticWitchAunt
      @ChaoticWitchAunt  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's also kind of the vibe I got from them! I know of a few folk magic friends who have created witches ladders and I felt as though I subconsciously emulated what I had seen by them!

    Another thing I think for that candle or future work/spells instead of think of raising energy look at it like a booster of a certain quality like confidence, strength, dominance, courage etc…for example ima hoodoo practitioner so I’d use high John root oil, but you could also use a deity/saint that represents an essence or energy you looking for, like sun oil

    • @ChaoticWitchAunt
      @ChaoticWitchAunt  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Love this! I've been leaning into making more oils for Saints recently, and I think this would be super cool to try out. Thank you!

    I love pinterest! I use it for more of an insporation than information, if I am using it for a spell or something then I look for information to corroborate the info that I am finding on pinterest before I use it. This was such a fun video to watch! I was so excited when I saw it.

    i actually love this so much because often when i do witchy things/spells (which isn’t often) i feel like if i can’t do something by the book it won’t work, or i’m not it doing it right. seeing you change things to fit what you have on hand or just because you feel like it is so lovely.

    Also another fun pendulum idea, I make mine using little bottles filled with herbs related to intuition and wisdom. Or whatever I'm going to be using it for.

    What I learned to concentrate a candle for yourself was with a taper candle and carve you name in it and anoint it with oil while concentrating on it. You can write a poem or mantra to aid that. The color of candle and oils used are decided on by what appeals to make you feel good. I am a nervous person so I lean to lavender to bring calmness. I also love marjoram for making me feel loved and content. It has feelings of happiness and wealth of soul.

I made a altar blessing powder recently from dried flowers and spices i had made as offerings and my guides told me to use it for candles so im gonna make a Me candle with them! also had the thought of using a braid of hair with a bead or crystal as a pendulum you could always keep on hand if your hair was long enough.

    I don't actually know what witches' bells are or where the tradition comes from but my instincts screamed NOOO when you put the key. A key unlocks a door and that is the opposite of protection to me. It is an invitation to "let yourself in", symbolically. But you didn't put it on your door. :D
    For me, I have bells on the front and back doors. any time a door is opened (or closed) I can hear them anywhere in the house. It's not that they are very loud, but it's a sound you attune to, if that makes sense. A heads up to go check my space. I also keep a string of bells up as a wind chime, to note changes in weather... Huh, didn't realize how witchy that is. :D
    I love this video. Great idea and lots of fun.

Im gonna start making them for my abuela, abuelo, and other family members, and i was told by my tia not to use any like that, i wouldn't use them on theirs, but is it okay for personal rosaries or no? Im new to the catholic religion as im mixed, so i was just wanting to know the most respectful way to incorporate both in my personal life

    Hi - I'm new to your channel and I really like your vibe! Your content is so genuinely fun to watch =]
    This video taught me your pronouns and I had a question that I hope isn't out of line. I recently learned the word 'nibling' which is a gender neutral word for niece/nephew, so I googled and found the word 'pibling' which is a gender neutral term for a parent's sibling. Do you have an opinion on it? Again, I hope the question is okay and I hope you're having a great day 😊

    • @ChaoticWitchAunt
      @ChaoticWitchAunt  ปีที่แล้ว

      I can’t say I’ve heard of either of those terms before! I think it would depend on the person who it is being referred to - personally, I love just being called a person/human!
