I noticed in most of these older sketches, you barely hear the audience laugh. My guess is they probably didn't have mics in the audience, so all we can hear is what is being picked up by mics focused on the cast. Also, they may have not encouraged laughter with prompts.

The irony is that the Puritans who were judgmental & intolerant whereby their denominational lines were the various Congregational Church, they would eventually morphed into one of the most mainline liberal Protestant denominations called the United Church of Christ whereby they are the most pro-free thinking people around today.

SNL still very selective about the skit they'll put on here. Found this one while trying to find the one where Shannen Doherty gets put on the stand for the crime of "bitchery". All the men complained that she denied all their advances. And Chris Farley stands up and shouts"THE B**** DID THE SAME THING TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂
