I sailed on the OCL & Blue Star ships in the 70s & 80s b4 the Colossal container ships took over, we still had British crews and weren’t sold down the River by the NUS, Maggie Thatcher, Lord Vesty and Lord Sterling. Makes me mad still seeing Blue Star Ships sailing without us proud Merchant Seaman on them 😤😤😤😤
hi neil, as a dutch retired marine engineer, i feel the same about the demise of my company, Nedlloyd, which was sold to maersk. i spent 40 years with Nedlloyd and feel let down. but this is the reality and now i am enjoying a very good pension, for which i studied and worked hard. during the latter years of the company, we amalgamated with P&O, so we worked with our uk colleagues, which was very pleasant. have a nice easter, chris fritz
