- A compilation of the new/changed endings, recorded without UI.
For those unaware, the game updated recently and they reworked the ending, added a few extra animations and updated the music on Apo and the Shifting Mound tracks, alongside quality of life improvements.
There were very few differences between cold and soft Princess for the ending, the onces that did exist were so small I didn't bother adding them.
There was some overlap, but I didn't edit them out because doing so would make them not work separately.
I apologize for the lack of quality if it is a problem, I don't have a strong PC but I do feel like someone should put these onlines.
I had a version of it with my commentary, but my friend began beatboxing during the most emotional moment.

Honestly like the additional dialogue that puts a bit more depth in the Princess/Stranger as the Heart of the Shifting Mound along with the Hero/Long Quiet and the voices that accompany him.
If you get the harsh princess she calls you hero
I uploaded this compilation because I felt, as Princess Pointless, it is both my duty to Speedrun the game, dump memes, analysis (still working on the Narrator video) and walkthroughs for those who are poor or don’t have the time to go through the game again.
I had a version of this where I played the game with some friends on stream, but Gruk started beatboxing and I felt like these moments at least deserved to be untainted by my dry ass commentary.
Personally I really enjoyed this update myself. I am not a fan of the new GUI, but you can hide it and if it works better for people with controllers I suppose it is a necessary addition.
I really love the new animations and the music is always amazing. But what I loved by far was how they threw more shade into Shifty’s direction and presented good counter arguments and narrative bias against her, whereas the game before heavily favored her and didn’t really present the argument as anything but a slam dunk. Now it added some much liked contrast.
Also, the new Narrator scream is bopping.
Edit: I learned that a lot more variations exist of the single Damsel line, uploading all playthroughs from start to end would cause fa lot of overlap, so I'll probally make a compilation later for those interested.
Okay, now I learned Prisoner had a special line and feel bad for not including it...
That single line with the Princess has added so much replayability

This line is incredibly funny, but also seems very damsel-specific. Is there a unique "The first time we met..." piece of dialogue, based on the first princess taken by Shifty? Might be something to look into.
Witch and Nightmare had no special dialogue and just skipped this line

@@Princess-Pointless-Dump They actually do, the nightmate has a line about scaring you to death and with the witch, the princess talk about how we both harmed each other.
The endings are amazing, she is so timid and gentle. Her voice makes me feel like everything is going to be ok...it is both sad and happy. Man I love this game.
So much about this game reminds me of the relationship between Shiva and Shakti. Think of Shiva as the ocean and Shakti is the current, the churn of waves, the tsunamis and tides and all the life inside. He is the space she exists in yet both are limitless. He is consciousness and she is energy. Their union is regarded as an absolute, they cannot exist without each other; think not two separate entities, but a dichotomy.
My heart is bleeding, I grasp for a blade that isn’t there. But i am the one who plunged it deep into my own chest. Why are we like this?
For some reason, I feel as though leaving with the stranger is fitting
Contrarian calling himself the worst part like opportunist doesn’t exist
The contrarian essentially lives in contradiction to everyone else. If everyone is insisting you to do one thing, he's going to tell you to do another, or even present a completely ludicrous option, like throwing the knife out the window. It isn't enough for him to just leave the knife there. Even when you pick up the knife, he insists you ought to hold the knife differently. His very nature means he'll argue with everyone else just for the sake of it, with no particular motive. This is different from EVERY OTHER VOICE, which have concrete motives. Smitten will always go for options that further his relationship with the Princess, Opportunist will always want to be the winner over everyone else, Cold will always seek for novelty, etc. The Contrarian asks you to do weird things that don't have a pattern at all. He does it 'just because'. To anyone else, he'd be extremely annoying because he'd feel like a persistent fly buzzing around your head that you can't get rid of, and he's AWARE that's what he's like.
Leaving with the level headed princess for me is the best ending.
The Endings are best described in three categories:
The 'True' Endings
The endings that involve some form of conclusion.
- Slaying the Princess at the end.
- Siding with the Princess at the end.
- Leaving with the Princess (or the Stranger) in the Cabin.
An *Ending*
The Ending that doesn't have a definitive conclusion.
- The *'Good'* Ending.
- The *Limbo* Ending (Choosing to Forget).
The Definitive Bad Ending
- The *Unwound* Ending.
It's more personal speculation then anything else. But you can say their is a Good, Neutral, and Bad ending based on views.
'Good' Endings are the one's that simpl6 don't lead to the princess being removed from existence.
Unwound, Siding with Her, or leaving the Cabin are all such examples.
There is technically a Neutral Ending. The 'Happy' Ending, since we are later made aware of their being multiple 'instances' or realities involving the princess.
The *Not-so-good-very-bad-rather-questionable-involving-a-stabbing-failed-the-QTE-princess* is the 'Dawn' Ending, which involves Slaying the Princess.

I can't help but think what the Shifting Mound and Long Quiet have going on is like if Ahura Mazda and Angra Mainyu of Zoroastrianism were in love.

They removed the "but i'm trying not to be sappy about it" line?!

@@knightmare6229 if you bring the knife with you the first time, you will get the "colder" final princess which says that line when you leave with her
You get it if you meet the cold Princess first (by taking blade with you)

the first ending I got of this game was leaving with the stranger ending, it's my favorite ending still, seeing the changes, STRANGER BEST GIRL

I have just played the Game one time, and in the ending, the princess was not this soft. It changes if you go for the first time to rescue she instead of bringing the knife with you? I really liked this version, i liked the other too, but its nice to know how beatiful this changes are.
