This is my favorite song I've ever played in band. Playing the Timpani part was incredibly fun, and I learned a lot as a player, everything about the part is amazing and the song as a whole. This song will probably always be my favorite, it's just that good.
4:15 up to about 4:40 is just remarkably incredible. Makes me tear up, and that main melody mixing with the beginning latin melody is perfect. Then when they all reach the high note at about 4:28 Mwah! Brilliant.
@@6DADADA its too good, not sure if its tear worthy after now hearing it about 50 times after that day, but the first few times, huuwe! I felt something very special.
I was about to recommend this to my director because I played the real version at an honors band, and don't get me wrong this is a wonderful arrangement for younger bands, but i could not stand to play the odd time signature section in 3/4
I love this piece. Im playing it in my schools wind band. Im not so confident when I have to play the A for french horn on my own in my band. Im the only french horn there (sadly). I can never pitch the right note
Got first horn as a freshman with one month before concert. I have at least one other French horn at all times though. All throughout middle school I was the only one though. My ms band teacher was a clarinet player and didn’t teach me anything so my high school year has been enlightening thus far.
El Camino Real is Spanish for "The Royal Road". It was the first road in California, maybe referring to that. It was a huge breakthrough in infrastructure at the time. Similarly, there's a road in Texas which connected Mexico to America (economically/politically) called El Camino Real de los Tejas.
I used to like listening to this song but now that I’m playing the original version by Reed
I’m so happy to be a horn player

Made respect for anyone playing snare drum in this piece
im auditioning with this peice for snare during concerts its tough to keep the tempo for the full time
This was my favorite concert piece for the snare! The offbeats are so fun to play, definitely a challenge though
Thanks its very hard
Honestly, once you get used to it, it's really not bad. By that I mean it doesn't take too long to absorb it

We played this arrangement. If you bump up the tempo and keep the brass in charge it sounds pretty good
6 years from now have you tried the og piece?

you know what is hard? is the original piece, one of the hardest songs i’ve played as a sophomore

I love this piece!
I’m glad this isn’t the harder version that people in an orchestra play.
SAME people are here complaining in the comments that it's not the actual version but I'm like- this one is still lovely! And it's hard enOUGH
The original wasn’t even for orchestra though....
@@zmhmusic yeah it was for winds

At the slow part, it's supposed to be in 7/8 with an absolutely insane mallet part. I'd know, I'm playing it haha.
Where's the slow part? (0:00)?
+IIIIIIIIII111 nah this version is a modified version. The original one is much harder and cooler.
@@berxopy h-hArdEr? Vshabanwmwms this seems hard enough 😂 I'm glad my teacher sent us this link and not one to a more complicated song

It gives Kirby desert music

Bruh the real version is so good now that I’m listening back to this and realizing how watered down and terrible sounding this shortened version is.
When will composers start making epic tenor sax parts 😞
