I kinda have my personal theory that between Alien 1 and Aliens Weyland-Yutani developed the M41a Pulse Rifle for the secret purpose of killing Xenomorph faster since current weapons don't do much damage, later USCM see it's very reliable and adopted it as standard issue.When Xenomorph encounter this rifle too many time they have to developed new breeding as a hive system with queen so that they could outnumber USCM.
In my opinion the only thing the game's authors got wrong is the fact that you can't pick up the weapons of killed enemies... I mean, come on: you just took out a bad guy with a gun and you can't even take it from him (or her)? It seems rather unrealistic to me.
@@thedon1570 The alien is invulnerable to bullets (at least to small caliber ones, for example those for pistols), this is also shown in the films: it seems that the xenomorph is covered by an exoskeleton with the consistency of kevlar which makes it resistant to lighter weapons.

@@thedon1570 Dude, it's one thing to have an assault rifle with armor-piercing bullets, another to have a small pistol with depowered bullets (so as not to cause holes towards the outside of the station). Obviously aliens can be killed, but only with the right weapons.

Did the animators not know what the extractor rod on a revolver is for? Spent cartridges do not simply fall out of the cylinder; the extractor rod is used to force them out. Additionally, say you have only fired three rounds, the extractor rod makes it easy to pluck the spent cartridges and swap them out, rather than empty the cylinder and reload every time. Couple that with the fact that you have to hold X and take your thumb off the right stick, and you get a very inefficient weapon. This is just a nitpick of mine as it doesn't have a significant impact on gameplay. The game is still fantastic.
I think the main reason why Amanda doesn't use the extractor rod is because shes inexperienced with weapons. The game goes out of it's way multiple times to state that she is not a fighter.
too bad there's no speedloader option for the revolver. putting bullet one by one adds to the survival effect, but i wish we could find a speedloader in the station after a certain time. I also don't like how the shotgun has two barrel while it only has four cartridges . it would have been logical if it has eight.
Hello all Alien Isolation players! I need urgent help please! I am playing on tablet with touch screen and cannot find way how to reload revolver :( Can anyone please help me? I´ve been looking everywhere but cannot find way how to do so.
If they added that it could work like the flamethrower, or maybe they didn't put it because there would have been too many weapons. And remember also that ripley is a simple engineer, not a soldier
The firing animations seem like something out of a game from the early 2000s. Would it have killed them to put a few more frames in there to smooth it out a little bit?
Nothing special like all fps game if you reload even if the all the bullets are not fired somehow magically all bullets become shells and fall off but the no of bullets remain the same anyway this game is good bcz it takes inspiration from outlast and implements it but I never got scared lol like why would I be scared of a alien its a alien not a ghost

You do know that non spent revolver rounds still fall out when you use the ejector rod right?
