Yes, they are going the wrong way. They are very deceptive. Instead of really improving on their products, they are instead marking just different produxts that all do the same thing. They used to be decent.
Weekend Warrior here. Bought a bunch of Chemical Guys stuff at the beginning, but moving away from them. Their glass cleaner, interior cleaner, glass towels, polish towels and Mr. Pink are good. Otherwise it all Adam’s. Great ceramic coatings, good sales and maintenance kits makes Adam’s a great fit for me.
Adam’s is super solid if you don’t want to deal with dilution ratios and have a product for everything you need but with that with each 16oz costing ~$10 a bottle adds up quickly
I’ll 1 up P&S with superior products from o’rileys all the same stuff more concentrated and cheaper switched over not too long ago and found it performs just as well only thing is that xpress is still the best smelling APC compared to pink perfection or green all
chemical guys is what got me into detailing and taught me a lot when i was first starting out. I will forever be grateful for tht even if some of their products arent tht great.
I built my first arsenal with CG. Yes I agree their product menu is worst than the cheesecake factory. However, there are some staples that I’ve had conversations with professional detailers that they use from CG.
The problem with chemical guys is that they have a lot of redundant products. Too many ceramic coating sprays, interior detailers and wheel cleaners. They do have some good products but their pricing is certainly a bit higher than what most weekend warriors are willing to spend
I'm a DIYer and I've never bought any of their products, I definitely always thought they seemed way overpriced. I've been using Maguire's products for 25 years ever since I saw amazing results with their old 3 step compound/polish/wax system. More recently I've started using more modern products from Turtle Wax.
Meguiar's making great products for reasonable pricing, and I'm not surprised you are with them for 25 year. Sometimes I'm buying detailing kits when I want to test some brand, it's way cheaper than buying each product separately, especially if you buy these kits on some sale 😉
It's a really good video. I do find that from one product line to another there is sometimes a different base on who the target market is. And that also changes the price and value of their products. Now saying that, when people ask for advice, I find many people use their own needs to base their advice, instead of listening to what people want to use it for, or their style. And that is also where I see a lot of hate coming from.
Thanks for the unbiased views about Chemical Guys. I’m a DIY’er in my late 50’s and got interested in detailing my vehicles during COVID lockdowns. I discovered Pan The Organizer YT channel and started to learn and explore products on my own. I mostly have DIY Detail, Adam’s Polishes, Griots, Meguiars as my current line-up. I don’t mind buying concentrated products and diluting them myself. And I’m always on the lookout for products that perform better for the money. Thanks again for the informative video. Oh, and another point is availability…some of the products I use come from suppliers that have very high minimum purchases to get free shipping. More and more products are becoming available at my local auto parts stores so that is really convenient.
It's never too late to start taking are of your car, so welcome to the club 😎 You are right, availability is also important for both professionals and DIY detailers!
A lot of ppl just say they hate them to fit in w wht everyone else is saying so they can pretend to be knowledgeable detailers like the ones they watch on TH-cam. CG is definitely not a great brand as a whole but there are a few hidden gems.
Most probably some people hate CG because they see somebody doing the same, but you are right, CG has some products that are still in favor of many professionals even after trying a huge variety of other brands!
@@miggs80 try out their water spot remover, stupid simple to use and i like vrp for a oem finish on tires pretty much it ive tried from them, i do really like their 32 oz sprayers, always go on sale
@miggs80 All of their wheel cleaning products are horrible, which I can admit bc I tried all of them, yet after a good wash, their Hydro Spin is pretty cool as a final touch on your wheels. The Rinseless Wash isn't bad at all. Their Waterless Wash is decent. The Mat Cleaner is solid and Hyro Sheild is OK too. Honey Dew Foam is good and their No Nonsense APC is just as good as these other ones ppl over-hype. With all of tht being said their most popular product is the VRP, I like it but it doesn't last long.
I used to do professional mobile detailing (first job, worked for a guy). I got that job because of how clean my 91 civic hatchback was. Guy asked who cleans it, me, I said. A young 18 year old straight out of high school. He offered me a job and I accepted. I did that for a couple years and loved it. Learned a lot and made good money. Fast forward. I am no longer in that trade, but am a weekend warrior. And believe in having a clean ride, and products that deliver. I jumped on the CG train years ago and overall I have not been dissatisfied. I am aware of all the greater brands that have products that are better, but sometimes I don’t need a gallon size of X product. My detailing closet contains everything from sonax, p&s, chemical guys, mquires, motion auto, and turtle wax just to name a few. I have different brands because they all have different products I love. No need to stick to 1 brand. Find something you like by trial and error and roll with it. I have never tried the hex foam polishing pads and V04 they have. But will soon try it. As I just last night ran out of a product Ardex compound I was using.
@@HMBdetailing funny, only because every joke is anchored in reality, tested by experience, oh the Shakespearean, more so LA tragedy, def tru when it comes to the Chemical Bros or whatever Guys they might call themselves. Bucket is the best. Would not trade their bucket for anything else, minus $40 some $50 dollars. Kidding’ their Diablo Wheel Cleaner is a real doozy! So is VRP! And everything else in their product lineup, including them buckets!
My issue besides the cost was that a lot of their products were mediocre or too "safe". When I ditched Turtle Wax, Meguiars and Mothers for Chemical Guys long ago in order to step up to a more professional level of product arsenal, I ended up disappointed that I wasn't getting better results. I branched out and used various products from different manufacturers and ended up finding my favorites. (still an unending cycle)
yeah, that's what I meant, as CG aren't more professional than the brands you called. The most important is that you found what you enjoyed, and trust me, this cycle is never ending considering how many new brands we have 😄
Chemical guys got me into detailing, I dont use any of their stuff anymore. They do have some decent products, I don't think they have any great products, but man do they have some terrible products. Now I would never recommend them to anyone, but they do a great job of getting people into detailing.
You missed the biggest problem with CG. It’s the toothpaste-style confusion marketing. 50 different types of products for each task. Many brands are guilty of this, but I think it’s gotten better over the years.
Like everyone says, they just have way too many products that do the same thing. That being said, they do have some good products - I use their interior cleaner if I’m washing a friends or family members car and not want to use my p&s express. I also use their ‘barebones’ product for dressing under my wheel arches
They might be more expensive than other products but you get what you pay for. I used to buy the cheap stuff because I didn't understand the difference. Yes, there are other professional brands out there but those products are not as readily available as Chemical Guy products are.
Car Pro, too. Many professional detailers buy whatever is the cheapest and whatever they can dilute. I am a DIYer, retired now, left the corporate world and can afford whatever I need. I've learned alot from Chemical Guys at first and then AMMO. Alot of hype these days over detailing chemicals. But I watch OG for entertainment. And he too is satisfied using "Griot's Garage" for most of his "best" products. That tells me something. 😅
Im a DIYer out here in the Philippines, yes theyre priced premium most definitely, i only use what i really want out of them and get gallon cause you are right Sir they are 3-5 times cheaper. Yes they have a lot of product most of them do the same thing. I say get what you want and works for you, get products from other brand. Its a matter of personal preferrences. No need to hate
I have some CG products and they’re mostly ok with me, but I have many other products from many other brands. I just experiment and when I find a product I like, I just stick with it to keep it simple. VRP is one of their products that I like enough to keep buying.
I’ve tried several CG’s products that I mostly purchased during a sale so prices were good. I was happy with the results but they have the worst trigger sprayers in the business.
For each product they have they have 10 other products that do the same thing but with a different name and different color bottle. Instead of constantly pushing out new named products in colorful bottles because they sell they should invest in making their products more effective and cut down to one product only for each individual purpose.
I'm guilty of having used their products, but after finding products that work much better for for a little better price. I bought better products for better over all performance and cost effectiveness
There is nothing to be guilty of, as it was your way, and now you know which products suit you best, based on your own experience, not just from hearing it from others
CG is made by Warner Chemical. Nothing special and too expensive. Too much of the same. Koch Chemie, Kenotek, Nerta, Menzerna, TW, .. . The CG culture might work in California, but there it stops.
Buy when on sale or when on clearance. Bought a few Wooly Mammoth towels that were returned to Amazon and deeply discounted. VRP, WM, Mr Pink and Silk Shine Protectant are very good for my personal use. CG gets the last laugh as they rake in money by selling at large retailers and Amazon. They don't care if professional detailers don't like them, because there is no such thing as bad publicity.
November of last year I purchased a Mazda CX-5 and wanted to take really good care of the detailing from the start. I couldn't get any good answers so I bought a mishmash of different products and have hoped I made the right choices. I use a garden hose and have a bucket with a grit guard along with other accessories. I did buy Griots foam gun for the hose and also the red foam and I have their spray on car wash and spot remover. Both of those I am dubious about. Also though I use SudsLab car wash, Tire and wheel cleaner/rust remover, interior detailing spray and the cleaner. For glass I use that popular spray can cleaner made by Stoners. I feel like I went overboard on my purchases but I wanted to clean and protect my new investment
Is this a new CX-5 or used? If new or new-ish, the interior materials will off-gas and streak onto the windshield. Here's a tip. Use dawn and a sponge (thick, not dripping wet) and apply to the inside of the windshield, with towels covering the dash. Use a small squeegee and remove from bottom to top, wiping the blade off with a towel. Then use the squeegee to go around the edge. You'll be left with no streaks or fibers because you aren't wiping with a towel. It will be clear and save you a ton of time. Also, clean the exterior of the glass first so you can see what you're doing. Did this to my '23 CX-5 and '24 MX-5. They will need doing a few times in the first 10-20k miles. Alternatively you can use the foaming aerosol Invisible Glass because it clings and doesn't drip inside the car.
I'm a DIY guy who loves trying new products ,and have been doing so for the past 20 years. I tried a CG wheel cleaner before they comply rebranded and was really impressed by it. But here the thing. CG does make a couple of really great products such as they're soaps and I really like the leather cleaner. In fact I think we can thank CG for the foam craze. However, they also make some complete duds. All of the polishes are completely awful. Terrible results and hard to take off. The waxes are in the same boat. Jet seal lasts for a couple of weeks , while I think Hydroslick is possibly the worst wax on the market. If you don't believe me I would bet you've never tried to use it. It simply doesn't come off the paint without an absurd amount of effort and time. Not to mention it's ridiculously expensive, especially for the performance, or lack there of. Also the hard water spot remover simply doesn't work. So CG is kind of hard to rate. Soaps are expensive but do a great job. Polishes and waxes are some of the worst on the market. So if you buy a really expensive wax and expect it to be great, you are going to hate CG, and I think that is where most of the hate comes from. Adam's is very similar to CG as far as cost is concerned, but they are not hated. I think that's because Adam's products are actually premium, with a premium price tag. In other words you get what you pay for. Can't say that with CG.
Thanks for sharing! I've talked about their polishes and compounds in the detailing news #4, and I noticed they have a mess, as they have too many of them with little differences. I've tried only their butter wet wax, which was pretty easy to apply, and if you can get it for like 10 bucks on some sale its a nice wax to try
After many years of going to a car wash where the people wash and dry it for you come across on TH-cam of chemical guys. It really confused the hell out of me a lot of their products seem to do the same thing until I’ve kept really deep diving into their stuff. They have products for every type of car that you you may come across. If you have a Corvette and it’s a showroom shine in your garage that might be something specific for that. That’s not the same as if your daily driver that’s an Acura or when the seasons come after a long winter spray with a three and one it’s not the same as getting three different things to strip everything down I think that’s where they capitalize off a lot of stuff Once I find out what I needed some of their products were impressive their VRP, so far the wheel cleaner is OK for me, I use their Hydro slick and it worked pretty good make my car look good but when it comes to all the ceiling, glaciers and wags and oversteps, I feel like I don’t need that in my life. A good wax great interior products they do have, and I’m happy with it. I’ve been a long time Maguire‘s person when I didn’t know really anything about cars and I just kind of outgrown Maguire’s. I’m truly happy with the products that I figured that I truly need in which helped me weeded out the ones I didn’t
That's a good point, I also remember myself when I first saw CG that I need so many products to maintain a car, but it appears that you don't need to spend all your saving on it 😊 Regarding Meguiar's, take a look at their professional line, you might find some gems for you, as I still love Meguiar's especially considering price/quality
I feel, personally, that they've taken some steps backwards with the quality of their products (ie Diablo Wheel Cleaner, their leather cleaner and conditioner) and they have soooooo many of the same products with different labels on their bottles
My issue with CG is that they have way too much crossover on multiple products that say they do the same thing. Just read the labels at your local Walmart, at least three of them will say things like “cleans, cleans light dust, shines, deep wet look”. It gets to a point where it feels like they are just scamming you. And they are too expensive having low-mid tier products that aren’t dilutable. $10 (minimum) for a small ready to use bottle vs a $20-$30 gallon of dilutable solution which can make you anywhere from 2 gallons or more of product from a better company… Its a no brainer. Especially when the products they sell don’t hold up to their claims. With that said, there are a couple things they have that aren’t bad. In general their soaps are pretty good, nice scents and good foam with good lubricity. And I do like the silk shine protectant dressing. Not much else after that tho.
I recall CG in the earlier times and they had ridiculous dilution ratios back then and always seemed watered down so you to use more. They claimed they (Warner Chemical) made everyones 's products such as Adams but if used both it was clearly not the same formulas. I do not think they had decent sealants. Now they are owned by Meguiars and had brokrn the barrier in getting into Walmart that led to other brands. Mother has been pushed almost out.
Summed up perfectly - explore and experiment. That's half of the fun of the being the weekend car wash warrior without getting sucked in to thinking you're a pro.
I have purchased not once but twice their wheel cleaner, thinking the first time may have been an anomaly, the bottle has two off positions, one stream position and one spray position, the off works but the spray streams and the stream streams making it damn near impossible to adequately coat a wheel therefore needing to use a whole bottle to clean four wheels, shame as I believe the product is good but the bottle is crap.
Yeah, maybe not the best sprayer for wheel cleaner. I used stream position with Diablo cleaner to cover it somehow evenly, but only brushing the rim after spraying solved this issue. thanks for sharing!
Don't know the Dr Beasley, but Koch Chemie is more a professional oriented brand, so most of their product are concentrated which can eventually make them cheaper, but for beginners such products can be too complicated and lead to wasting money on products the don't need
Their product line is redundant. Insanely so, in fact. To be fair, I'm a long time weekend warrior. And I've bought one of their products, on one occasion. I gave the bottle away as I hate tossing something I paid for into the trash. In my experiences, they have you thinking you need 10 or more products to care for your car. This is categorically untrue. I've also found in my experience that their products are largely sub par in performance compared to their competitors.
I tried a bottle of leather conditioner from the Chemical Guys. It had a fake scent that reminded me of cheap leather and bleach. I would have taken it back to the store, but I lost the receipt.
Chemical guys have 10 different versions of the same product with a slightly different twist. They expensive and sometimes don’t do the job well but will get you out from a pinch. And you can buy them anywhere. In contrast I have to order Koch chemie and wait and hope I don’t run out or overstock. Honesty you only need green star from Koch chemie to do 100% of the interior, with carpro pearl to protect 90 percent of the interior. And for the outside just use KC nano magic shampoo and trust me you will get better results than buying 100 chemical guys product. And if you have alcantara seats use KC polstar. And carpro pearl depending on the dilution you can use it for tires and plastics for the outside and plastic floor liners. For cleaning the wheels P&S brake buster. Now I told you everything you need to make your car look amazing. Dilution if needed ask or look them up. Windows I use PS paint prep but I use a squeegee and towel and if needed a soft glass bush for to tinting windows.
Chemical guys has way to many products for each use.making it hard to decide what you need to buy. Personally I think Griot’s gets snubbed more than Chemical Guys since you almost never see them used and touted by the detailers on TH-cam except for their own videos showing how to ychoose and use their products which I think are some of the best and most reasonably priced.
The TH-cam retailers seem to focus on latest. It is a racket. Meg's hyperwash is still a good soap yet do not see it in reviews. Please note people have been getting great results for years and older products still work.
One thing I disapprove of them doing is padding their reviews, no one has 5* ratings on everything knowing the communities feeling about them. Another crappy thing they've done are purposely giving the over stocked items and a bunch of air fresheners in their mystery boxes. Other brands like Adam's will mix it up and make it a real value to gamble on one. They did have OK black friday sales just not as good as other companies.
@@HMBdetailing That's fair, I just want to say that I love the direction you chose for the channel. This is in my opinion a missed opportunity for original content that you filled. I'm truly baffled that with the amount of quality content you provide in each video that the channels received by a larger audience. I truly wish you the best and await future videos.
Thanks for sharing! Well, yeah, they often add some scents, but if I'm not mistaken they have been updating the formulas, but maybe it was to fit new regulations
@@HMBdetailing I personally don't use a lot of the products, but i watch a lot of reviews and it seems that even the new formulas don't make a big difference in the results, that's why I'm saying this. Nevertheless i think they make good products, they just make it difficult to choose when there are 10 to choose from the same category 😅
Chemical guys is a way many of us started out and still has some good products. You get into over marketing, and in my case poor customer service. I had a terrible experience with their company and will never go back. They had detailing garages that have been closing left and right as well. Not a good look for the brand in my opinion. I do not prefer them but would not put them down.
Haters going to hate. They have some great products I like their interior cleaner and no. Nonsence(wife likes it in the house) love black light on our pitch black challenger incredible deep shine! I am not a super fan of their soaps but that’s just me.
They were bought out by a private equity firm in 2021 or 2023. I'm not sure if that has changed anything, but they were very difficult to deal with if an issue with their products arose. Terrible service.
I guess the biggest change was in like 2014, when they got redesigned, and I believe they were sold at that point too. I didn't research about it a lot, so I may be wrong
All hype and marketing but products are low quality with fancy packaging and an expensive price. Tried their interior detailer it performed very poorly, cost $15 vs the amazing $8 Lucas I was using till it was discontinued. They seemed to have wrapped the brand around our local car community, going as far to hire a few car-scene boys. So it makes criticizing their products difficult without being labeled a hater.
well, yeah, if in your city the only car community is going with one brand, criticizing might be hard, but I saw many communities around brands where people were discussing other products from another brands which they prefer more
When you try other brands you can really tell the difference in the quality. Chemical Guys’ sprayer quality is crap, tried 3 different things with sprayers and broke all 3 within the week. Got Koch Chemie, P&S, CarPro in my arsenal now.
@@HMBdetailing I'm getting worried because I have so much detailing products lying around. I think I have a problem lol I wanna try different up and coming brands as well!
@@mattpapa03 😄😄that's called an obsession, but I know how you feel. The biggest issue I have with some trim dressings. They can be so different, with plenty of options, but low waste, so you buy one, barely use it, got another one. I suggest looking for the smallest volume bottles especially if you want only to test it. If they don't have small bottles, and you have a local dealer/reseller, ask them to provide you with some tester, or draft to your small bottle
Greg Masterson did all of the early how to videos for chemical guys ... he is a pro salesman , the type you'd expect with a headset on at trade show . He left chemical guys to start his own Detailing product line called "mastersons wax" which oddly enough has many similarities to chemical guys products .... IMO i think he is in cahoots with Smartwax who started chemical guys ... definitely something fishy going on there .
Gosh, I forgot the channel's name, but I saw a video on TH-cam from a guy who has been working in a car chemical factory. He is saying that many brands are getting stuff from the same place just with different labels, so there is nothing fishy in it, I think it's more like a car manufacturer who has been using the B platform to build various cars during the 60s.
I don’t stick to one brand, I use many and have some chemical guys products. VRP, Diablo wheel gel and the water spot gel are my go to for those jobs and great products. When starting out their videos were really valuable. I don’t get the hate when it comes to brands!
They are shite , expensive but cheap in reality, jetseal 109 , gone after one wash , used a whole bottle over 2/3yrs , full decon polish etc every time it lasted few weeks most
@@HMBdetailing Decon= decontamination, yes I did , it goes , very little beading , after a few washes , looks nice when applied, it doesn't perform any near what's stated , maybe UK weather
Strange, I haven't tested this exact product, but I don't think that even a bad sealants will be gone in 1 wash. Maybe you've used high-alkaline shampoo? or it's really not suitable for UK weather.
@@HMBdetailing it's not anywhere near what's stated on the bottle, 12months or up to ,lucky if it's 12weeks , and no harsh washing method used after application, not even APC just wash , by second wash pretty worn out lol
well, all the 12-months statements on the bottles, are in reality 6 months in the best case. To keep any wax last 12-months you have to have some unrealistically perfect conditions, and regular maintenance with spray waxes. What was the pH-level of your shampoo?
First tried CG in '06 as I was starting out. Their products were out there way before TH-cam videos. As for the products, themselves? Mediocre. As time went on, couldn't help noticing the same stuff being offered under new names. Seems to hold true today. Like I said, nothing special. Some products are outright poor, like Jetseal. I'd rather use Megs Ultimate line, if we're talking over the counter. A Herculean leap in quality.
@@HMBdetailing Not sure I'd agree, as folks were using their products before I came along 18 years ago. For better or worse, CG had a presence. They're very good at penning desirable product descriptions. Many have tried CG. Don't know anyone who actually uses the stuff today.
@@felixf5211 compared to '06 they have insane competition nowadays, so obviously many moved on to try something new after trying CG, but I there are people who still stick up to some CG products
I have tried a number of their products. But I only recommend their soaps and fragrances to friends. Their waxes, dressings, etc don't hold up. And For that...I will always recommend Meguiar's and Mothers products to friends. And for new detailers. Best bang for the buck, and lasting products. I personally think Chemical Guys products are probably formulated just fine for West coast weather, but can't hold up to East coast weather. Just my opinion.
I don't think it's formulated just for the West, as not all the complaints are coming from the East coast, so maybe you just got better luck with other waxes and coating. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Chemical guys leather cleaner & conditioner didnt clean very well. Got carpro inside and always use white microfiber towels. Im a neat freak when it comes to my car. Carpro was FAR superior than Chemical Guys.
I think a lot of the Chemical Guys hate is just people trying to gain clout by holding the opinions of seasoned professionals. But other than that it’s often said that many products are kind of redundant b/c they are so similar. I would add that I was not impressed with the level of knowledge the staff had when I visited their store. This didn’t make much difference to me, but I could see how a new enthusiast might buy things they didn’t need, or get confused and leave. Personally, I love the Silk Shine dressing, but at $50 a gallon ready to use, I can’t swing it.
I also think that not all the hate comes from people who at least tried their products. While making Detailing News, I also noticed that some products are released just to show some new products, even though they already have similar ones. But Chemical Guys are not the only one who makes it, actually, many companies are doing so. It's nowadays market realities. Silk Shine was nice, I tried it when I bought a detailing kit, and it has a nice finish.

Honey Dew Foam is good and their No Nonsense APC is just as good as these other ones ppl over-hype. With all of tht being said their most popular product is the VRP, I like it but it doesn't last long.
I don't use their products anymore in my business but they makes some good buckets that I keep buying.
So this is another reason why you should take care of your Civic's folks! 😄
@@HMBdetailing amen!
So true hahah Their buckets are def the best part of their kits
yeah, that was a funny comment 😄
Now I would never recommend them to anyone, but they do a great job of getting people into detailing.
thanks for sharing 😊
They have some staples to name a few, ECO smart Wash, VRP, Quick Synthetic Detail Spray, Butter Wet Wax, and Mr. Pink.
Mr. Pink and VRP for sure... I also like their Pad Prep Spray, and Pad Wash spray.
You missed the biggest problem with CG. It’s the toothpaste-style confusion marketing. 50 different types of products for each task. Many brands are guilty of this, but I think it’s gotten better over the years.
now many brands are making 10 products for one task, they are trying to reach wide range of clients, like the toothpaste 😄
Like everyone says, they just have way too many products that do the same thing. That being said, they do have some good products - I use their interior cleaner if I’m washing a friends or family members car and not want to use my p&s express. I also use their ‘barebones’ product for dressing under my wheel arches
I got it, you are keeping p&s express for special occasions 😂😂
They might be more expensive than other products but you get what you pay for. I used to buy the cheap stuff because I didn't understand the difference. Yes, there are other professional brands out there but those products are not as readily available as Chemical Guy products are.
That's also true, but hopefully many new brands are becoming available even in the nearest shops and malls.
4:25 - is she washing a car in business casual?! lol That's dedication!
😄😄 that's how strong and independent women make it
Koch Chemie, Gyeon and leather honey is all i need :)
sounds like a solid detailing set 🙂
That's a smart way to save some money! Most importantly is to take a gallon of product that you will eventually use regularly 😊
I have some CG products and they’re mostly ok with me, but I have many other products from many other brands. I just experiment and when I find a product I like, I just stick with it to keep it simple. VRP is one of their products that I like enough to keep buying.
Thanks for sharing, that's a great way to pick suitable products, don't forget to experiment with new brands as industry is developing every year! 😊
I’ve tried several CG’s products that I mostly purchased during a sale so prices were good. I was happy with the results but they have the worst trigger sprayers in the business.
Thanks for sharing! Yeah, it's not the first comment about their trigger sprayers.
For each product they have they have 10 other products that do the same thing but with a different name and different color bottle. Instead of constantly pushing out new named products in colorful bottles because they sell they should invest in making their products more effective and cut down to one product only for each individual purpose.
Well, maybe this way makes them more money, so we have what customers are looking for
I'm guilty of having used their products, but after finding products that work much better for for a little better price.
Well, we already have a CX-5 club over here 😄
I'm a DIY guy who loves trying new products ,and have been doing so for the past 20 years.
Maybe you made a step forward with some new products, and now they doesn't look so impressive. Thanks for sharing!
Just use extra strength dish soap
LOL, that's true, when I saw this labels with 'cleans, shines, and cleans' for the first time I also got confused 😄
Why do you think they are owned my Meguiar's? Meguiar's were recently acquired themselves, so I don't think they could acquire CG.
Summed up perfectly - explore and experiment. That's half of the fun of the being the weekend car wash warrior without getting sucked in to thinking you're a pro.
Thank you 😊 that's what I always do, especially knowing how many new brands are right now
I have purchased not once but twice their wheel cleaner, thinking the first time may have been an anomaly, the bottle has two off positions, one stream position and one spray position, the off works but the spray streams and the stream streams making it damn near impossible to adequately coat a wheel therefore needing to use a whole bottle to clean four wheels, shame as I believe the product is good but the bottle is crap.
Yeah, maybe not the best sprayer for wheel cleaner. I used stream position with Diablo cleaner to cover it somehow evenly, but only brushing the rim after spraying solved this issue. thanks for sharing!
The problem is not the cost. The problem is that their products don’t work as good as other products on the market so why waste your money.
Chemical guys is way cheaper than KochChemie or Dr Beasleys - they’re a solid entry level chemical as you mentioned
Don't know the Dr Beasley, but Koch Chemie is more a professional oriented brand, so most of their product are concentrated which can eventually make them cheaper, but for beginners such products can be too complicated and lead to wasting money on products the don't need
Since their main market is diyers , they could have special pricing for businesses owners .
Hard to say, maybe they have been doing it
Their product line is redundant.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Only SIDVIN MOTO CARE
I tried a bottle of leather conditioner from the Chemical Guys. It had a fake scent that reminded me of cheap leather and bleach. I would have taken it back to the store, but I lost the receipt.
I did not enjoy it at first too, but after application it was ok. maybe I got used, or it became less harsh with time
Chemical guys have 10 different versions of the same product with a slightly different twist.
Thanks for sharing, hope this useful suggestions will help somebody!
Honestly I didn't see a lot of detailers on TH-cam using CG either
Interesting point. Honestly, nowadays I'm not sure about any reviews on brands' websites, so it's hard to blame only them, but anyway it's not good.
Thanks a lot! You cannot imagine how encouraging it is to read such a comment 😊
I think the main issue is that they don't improve products they re-scent products
They have good stuff most of the time, it's just a detailer joke atp
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
Other than chemical guys. 3M is the base for most betailing products.
No they are not.
P&S is the same price as CC but WAY better results. Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions is probably the best for the once a month person.
Thanks for sharing!
Chemical guys is a way many of us started out and still has some good products.
You get into over marketing, and in my case poor customer service.
I had a terrible experience with their company and will never go back.
They had detailing garages that have been closing left and right as well. Not a good look for the brand in my opinion.
I do not prefer them but would not put them down.
thanks for sharing! Yes, their product were the first steps for many
Haters going to hate. They have some great products I like their interior cleaner and no. Nonsence(wife likes it in the house) love black light on our pitch black challenger incredible deep shine! I am not a super fan of their soaps but that’s just me.
If you use it only for once a week maintenance that a great option, but don't forget there are many brands out there, don't forget to experiment
I have tried most of CG products. They all came up short , way overpriced, and didn't do what they claimed.
Thanks for sharing! 🙂
So it makes criticizing their products difficult without being labeled a hater.
well, yeah, if in your city the only car community is going with one brand, criticizing might be hard, but I saw many communities around brands where people were discussing other products from another brands which they prefer more
Some of it is not bad. However, they have many products that are exactly the same with different name , scent, task , and color.
Maybe they think it makes easier for beginner to find something specific, but I think it may confuse even more
When you try other brands you can really tell the difference in the quality. Chemical Guys’ sprayer quality is crap, tried 3 different things with sprayers and broke all 3 within the week. Got Koch Chemie, P&S, CarPro in my arsenal now.
Thank for sharing! This is the reason we always need to try something new, especially with tons of new brands these days
@@HMBdetailing I'm getting worried because I have so much detailing products lying around. I think I have a problem lol
I wanna try different up and coming brands as well!
Hah their prices in the EU are eye-watering xD Never used them and i think ill never will
It's even hard to imagine what prices without any sales you have, especially if to compare it with some Bilt-Hamber
I was a fan but I went back to Meguiars. Chemicall guys just knows how to make things trendy but their stuff ain’t that good.
Thanks for sharing! Don't forget, there are tons of other brands to try 😊
3d makes their own, griots makes their own . Adams uses B&B blending. Warner Chemical made CG but CG was bought by 3M who owns Meguiars too.
I don’t stick to one brand, I use many and have some chemical guys products. VRP, Diablo wheel gel and the water spot gel are my go to for those jobs and great products. When starting out their videos were really valuable. I don’t get the hate when it comes to brands!
thanks for sharing! that's the way you should explore detailing 👍
They are shite , expensive but cheap in reality, jetseal 109 , gone after one wash , used a whole bottle over 2/3yrs , full decon polish etc every time it lasted few weeks most
did you make decontamination before applying the sealant?
Wow, so you are the OG of CG 😄
Chemical guys .. they are mid tier. Or high end Walmart ..
good for DIY . With that being said . Far from professional grade
thanks for sharing! 😊
By any chance are you paid by chemical guys for this video?
No 🥲
Chemical guys leather cleaner & conditioner didnt clean very well. Got carpro inside and always use white microfiber towels. Im a neat freak when it comes to my car. Carpro was FAR superior than Chemical Guys.
great to hear that you found what suits you best, thanks for sharing! 🙂
Chemical Guys is hot garbage, it’s redundant. They’re focused on scents. P&S is headed down the same path. I’d rather buy Meguiars than any of these.
