    Nice review there mate 👍 so easy to setup very good for a beginner. It’s a clone of the Big Agnes Copper Spur , the reason Naturehike seam tape the inside is because it’s Silicone coated outside PU inside which can be taped , Lanshan Pro is Silicone coated inside and outside so can’t be taped on the inside .
    The rainbow door has been changed so you can open the top part of the door for ventilation, I’ve asked them about changing the CP2 but not happening.
    Glad you can fit in it !!!

      @@NoviceWildCamper The none pro is PU coated on the inside fly which means the seam tape will make a good seal. The pro is silicone coated on the inside fly which makes it impossible for seam tape to stick. That's why you need the specific sealant to seal it . Many people buy the liquid sealant that will seal PU coatings and the same thing happens even though it's liquid when it drys it just drops off like seam seal tape would! You need specific silicone seal to do it and for it to work. White spirit and clear bathroom silicone I found the best mixed up to form the correct viscosity to apply and push into the seams. The reason that double sided silicone coating is better as with PU coatings they degrade over time and become mushy and milky and chalky and loose all the waterproofing capabilities and can't be resealed. The silicone can be rejuvenated with some silicone liquid like Fabsil gold and it will take well and seal again easily.
      I'm your height exactly and feel your tent pain! I just bought a outer pitch tent from China and it's ideal in every way apart from the slightly curved in ends makes the usable length a problem for me hitting my head and feet 😔.
      How do you get on with the Lanshans I love them but I have found them to be feet and face touches and the Pro version that's a pain as you are getting wet condensate fabric in your mush all night !

    Great review Ben, I’ve got this tent in the grey, but really wish they did a brown colour to blend in more. You may have already spotted it, but there’s a big triangle pocket in one of the top corners which is very useful to get stuff off the ground if you need to keep it dry. Strangely I have the same issue with one of my zips that is very tough to open. I don’t think they are YKK, but will try some WD40 on it to see if it helps. Great idea with the moving of the guy point to vestibule. ATB, Jason

    Great video… loads of good info, and at a nice pace. Not rushed like a mental outburst of specs… and your opinions are clearly based on your own experience and thoughts (so many people are obviously just reworded what other people have said)…
    I’m 6ft on the dot and have a cloud peak 2 (original doors) which is great but want something a ‘little’ lighter and quicker to pitch. This looks ideal. I’m not convinced the cloud up 2 is long enough. Never seen anybody over 5,8 review it… you don’t happen to own one?

    • @NoviceWildCamper
      @NoviceWildCamper  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Thanks Chris. Much appreciated. The only person I know who's reviews a cloud up 2 is Summit or nothing but I'm not sure how tall he is. It's only 210cm internal length and the end is very angled so it might be a bit tight for you. The other issue is the vestibule. I don't like front entry ones as to cook in it in bad weather you'll get soaked as you can't partially open it plus in my personal experience, when you open it after it's bee raining the door fall inside and you and your gear gets soaked. Just my personal though though as I'm sure some people love them 👍

    There's numerous tents that are this shape and design the deal breaker for me is the inner 1st pitching I've got the kuiu mountain star it's a pitch in 1 with the poles outside and there's 2 cross over poles with a spreader bar so pretty similar I think at the end of the day it comes down to quality of materials and how it's manufactured.i did a few tweaks like you I added extra guys to the vestibules as there very big and the guys really gives them extra support I also had to add extra velcro on the doors as in high winds the gaps between the standard velcro would oscoilate like mad making a lot of noise.its also a 2p and I love the space and it's under 2kg downside it's from America and was expensive.but if you're on a budget the naturehike is a good choice.

    • @NoviceWildCamper
      @NoviceWildCamper  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I was quite impressed that thus has 3 velcro points on the doors. First one I've come across like that. Sounds like a good tent you got, you can pitch this outer first using the groundsheet which is the main reason why I wouod entertain it. Good tent for the price. 👍

    Hi. First of all, I would like to apologize for my English, I use Google translator ;)
    I have a question about the bags you use to store the inner bedroom and the outer flysheet. These are 2 liter waterproof bags. If you squeeze bedrooms and a flysheet into them, does it affect the durability of these components? Or does it not matter if you fold it nicely into cubes and roll it up and put it in a large original bag?
    Will the durability of the tent be the same??

    • @NoviceWildCamper
      @NoviceWildCamper  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It won't affect the durability of the material. Folding a tent and storing it the same every time is more likely to cause damage as you would be constantly folding along the same lines. Compression sacks are great for reducing pack size but when I store them i loosen them off so it's not so compressed. 👍

    • @ukaszd1725
      @ukaszd1725 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@NoviceWildCamper Thank you for the quick reply. I think I'll check my tent in the field tomorrow, I received it today and quickly set it up at home. It turned out that it was 205 cm inside. And after stretching it is 212 (looking at you, there seems to be a lot of space behind the head and feet). I am also 192 cm tall and in my tent I have the impression that it is too short (I was only lying on a 195x64x7cm mat, without a sleeping bag and no pillow). Maybe it's a matter of tightening all the fasteners.
      I hope it's not a defect of the tent and it won't be smaller than yours by a few centimeters ;)
      I really like your way of storing it. I'll have to try it out. It's easier to hide two two-liter bags and frames than one large original bag. This original bag is terribly large and not very compressed.

      It's longer for sure. I cannot fit in the taiji without sleeping at an angle but I was straight head to toe in the star river. Its also lighter. I think its down to weather you want an all in one pitch or more space and lighter. Mongar is heavier unless you get the 15d. It's tough as they are all so similar. For me alone, I've bought the Lanshan 1. But when I'm with my girlfriend, I search a tent that can replace my camp minima 2sl (very tight for two people).
      I was first thinking to buy a Lanshan 2 but it's not wide enough. After that, I was think about the decathlon tarp tente mt900 that I similar to a Lanshan expect that is wider but too low.
      Finally, I thought to buy a tent like the star river and many other, with aluminium sticks. What I want is that the tent is wide enough for us, so minimum 130 cm wide. I also want a minimum of 110 cm height to be sat. Finally, I didn't know about the length because what's the constructor says aren't always very true in reality. I'm used to touch a bit but I want a tent where I can fit in properly. So I think minimum 115 cm length. To finish, I want 2 doors on the side and not too heavy (max 2.5kg). For a limited price of possible.
      For the moment, just the star river 2 and maybe the big Agnes blacktrail2 seems to fit my needs. I also thought to buy a 3 people tent but they are heavier and also very large to fit in the bag

      210T represents 210 braided threads per square inch. In general, weight, volume, and water resistance are disadvantages of 210T fabrics compared to 20D nylon, but the price and maintenance costs are lower.
