The title sounds like a MainManSWE bedtime story.
i guess Im quite off topic but does anyone know a good place to stream new movies online?
@Elian Kaison I watch on FlixZone. You can find it on google :)

A low hitting jab in a 3D fighter that's faster than 10 frames feels illegal.
@@Leadblast unrelated bonus King df1
I actually like how Steve's punches in general were strong...
If you think about it, he's a boxer so it only makes sense that his punches were superior to the others...
He doesn't have kicks, worse bd...
I liked the idea
VF
@@taylorbee4010 Haven't played any VF game before 4, but every low punch in VF4 and 5 has 11 frames of startup. They're some of the fastest attacks in their games, but they're not that extreme, and even then, in VF5 they're only +4 on hit and +7 on CH, which is nothing on Steve's madlad +8 on normal hit low punch.
@@taylorbee4010 you can use a low dikjab in virtua fighter only from backturned stance
TMM: 8 frame broken mid.
Steve: You want to try me Gov?
Nina Williams: "That's my boy!"
😂😂
I really just want a Tekken 4 style Tekken again, sans the flaws and with tonnes of content. The stages were amazing and so expansive, though the uneven ground was broken, the atmosphere was so awesome, the story was excellent, still a little crazy but also very down to earth, and Tekken Force was perfected, Aesthetically it was a bit bland, but it really was so fresh. I miss this so much.
True words man
Imma be totally real that's all cool and all and I entirely agree but really I just want this damn costume for steve back
Competitivity aside, tekken 4 was amazing, i mean if you play it on a high level without the competing factor the game is really funny
Steve: *8 Frame mid*
Kazuya: Am I a joke to you?
I still remember his T4 only win quote with Steve, "What a joke"
An 8-frame dick jab that is +9 on hit...
Steve: "The Mishima Zaibatsu will never make another monster like me!"
This stage theme is freaking awesome!
Yea MainMan,we understood that Steve was awsome, but do you know this move called "Deathfist"?
Tekken 4 is so different, the wall placement and different surface heights that DOA adopted.
LooL, Steve was an absolute prick in this game. The damage was horrendous, especially that death wall combo, so absurd :D.
I have the feeling MainMan has a crush on steve
Ahh how I miss when the characters didn’t eat steroids 3 times a day and replaced their tap water with protein shakes.
They actually look like people.
Word right? Look how hugely jacked Marshall Law is for an unemployed 50 year old in T7. in 4 his ripped physique looked more believable.
Lol... Feng stole Steve's shirt in T7!
I mean, boxers can jab ultra fast irl too lel
They do jab quite fast, but don't extend their arms fully during quick ones, so range would be their weakness. But Steve arms are magnetic
@@ultralowspekken they do extend their arms fully.
@@bunzen0knatzen well, the more you extend your arm, the more time it will take to retract and do the next jab.
Yeah, I know we can't talk about 8f startup in real life, but we can make a comparison about the speed of a single punch and the speed of multiples (thinking of Steve's wall ender pkb 1+2~1~2~1etc... in which he keeps his arm bent and quickly moves his body and hips to gather punching speed).
I'm not interested into challenging any real life boxeurs into punching, though
Btw MainManSWE and audience, there is a Tekken 4 Steve secondary costume mod for Tekken 7, just search Mattplara, that dude is brilliant.

"So 'Wildman' was pretty wild, man!" was right there for the taking...
You gotta do Zafina in Tekken 6 mainman, I hear her frames were..... something
I hated her
@@SonofTiamat I also share a disdain for the character
Fuck Zafina hope she’s out of the franchise for good
Zafina was the most unique character. She’s annoying when she crouches though.

*makes tekken 5, where he is even more broken*
Un Tekken 5 Steve is.... Perfect

@Tcb bct yes. That's the joke, congrats.

T4 Jin: OP then nerfed hard on T5
T6 Lars: OP then nerfed hard on T7
DVJ and Steve on all appearances: OP never left S-tier
Weird Steve isn't doing well/played much in tournaments anymore though
Viktor Falk watch Nobi, Knee, Falsegod, and Dougfromparis. They use Steve
@@ajye8935 Note: When I say great/good tournament results I mean making it to top 8.
Nobi has started playing less Steve and more Dragonov in tournaments recently. Knee plays most character at a very high level, he doesn't play Steve often at all (at least not anymore) and have gotten better results with other characters. I had not heard of Falsegod or dougfromparis before you mentioned them, but when I search on YT Falsegod's most recent appearance is 6 months ago with Howarang and videos of him using Steve were roughly a year old, not great tournament results either and dougfromparis is basically the same, only active with Steve about a year ago and not great tournament results.
*Disclaimer:* My "research" on Falsegod and Dougfromparis was only a search on Google and TH-cam, not very extensive.
My main point is that Steve hasn't been performing as well as a S tier character should, at least in tournaments. You would expect to see more Steve players make it to top 8 if he was S tier. Why aren't people playing him?
Viktor Falk Nice try. Nobi used it against knee on a recent twt and won twt tournaments or reach the finals with Steve , Knee won this year’s Combo breaker with Steve in his arsenal. Just improve your research Falsegod and Dougfromparis are European players you don’t know them because they’re from Europe, when most of the twt tournaments are held at Asia.
Here are top 8 and above clips most of them are finals matches
Ps: improve your research

@@ajye8935 I did make the point that Knee plays a lot of chapters at a high level, he has won tournaments with Djin, Paul, Steve and maybe even Bryan, I can't remember if he actually won with Bryan, but he did play him towards the end.
I'd say my point still stands with him not having as good results as a S tier character should have. Take some other supposed S tiers for example, Dragonov pre-nerf won and and had a lot of representation in tournaments, same with Djin and Jack, Steve just isn't doing as well as the other top tiers with little representation and therefore I don't see him as an S tier.
Although if winning a tournament is all it took then I guess Kuma/Panda would be S tier as well, which they clearly aren't, so maybe I'm wrong, but I prefer basing a characters tier/how good they are on tournament performance and representation. You might base it of something else, I don't know. We might have different opinions on what an S tier is, where you should draw the line and that's fine
TLDR: Steve still isn't performing well enough to be considered S tier
Ps: thanks for sharing those great matches, most of them were very entertaining to watch and I will try to do more research to make better arguments next time I make a point like this, just feels like overkill on a TH-cam comment like this lol
MAIN MAN! Thank you so much for playing Steve, Steve! :D HOLY SHIT Thank you.
In tekken 4 Steven was the only character broken enough to compete with jin's broke ass, maybe lee
Also Nina
@ThePumaoX true nina was top tier back then
@Tcb bct again i dont remember bryan being good in t4, maybe i missed something.
@Tcb bct again true but I think snake edge was still a seeable low and its not like there was online play. Also a lot of chars had 8 frame jabs in that game, i cant remeber all of them but i know paul was another, it was pretty common
Tekken 4 was ahead of its time. ^_^
If you ever revisit this series, maybe do a video on the differences between Xiaoyu and Miharu. Apparently Miharu had some hitbox oddities that made her a better pick.
Could we get a review on Tekken 4 Marduk some time in the future, maybe? He was pretty different from his current incarnation.
No surprise.
Steve it's always a God... In every Tekken.
Yeah lol. Steve has always been a really good character. Very consistent.
@@viewtifulgold4223 Hes the only boxer. I feel like he needs a boxing rival. If Street fighter did Mike Tyson then Tekken should do Deante Wilder. It would be amazing
@@Timquan. Deontay Wilder lol

AHAHAHA GOOD TIMES!!!
This steves outfit should make it comeback in t 7, I mean unbuttoned blue Hawaii shirt, bandage wraps on his fists, brown dress shoes, I miss this outfit soooo much.
Did they really have to give Paul a plumbers crack.
plumbers crack is very american
Steve in tekken 4 has a standing mid jab if you hold forward and press 1, it connects as a mid. Oppenent has to stand and block it.
I found pressing circle and triangle was the most op thing in the game using Steve
One more broken thing, propably the most, but only in NTSC version, that was his jab [1] while doing with forward direction was mid, it was 9 frames then, but stil if enemy had wall on his back and 10frame punch, u could just do the infinitive blockstun f+1,f+1,f+1,,,,,,,,
Steve was my Dad's main
And now I have the technical reasoning.
Jabjabjabjab
Had to spam back with Law
this mid poke looks like something directly out of a recent mk game.
Steve is the best character... Strong, fast, dog-steps... All around player
system cp3 I couldn’t agree more. He is so tricky because his pokes have almost infinite creative potential. He can do a lot of weird stuff succesfully
review steve in ttt2 next! hehe
Please talk about overpowered characters in Tekken 3
*Ogre would like to know your location.*
True Ogre is the only S+ tier in that game, followed with Jin, Law, Xiao & Hei being S tier
@@MegaO2Jammer -you got that wrong.- (edit) In my personal, humble opinion, True Ogre in t3 has an orrible hitbox which makes him weak to running 3s while on the ground (even if he stood up and blocked, some characters have dash moves that connect from a wr3 stun) Top tier are Jin, regular Ogre and Xiao and work much like Rock, Paper, Scissors due to their very specific, character related weaknesses
Edit edit:
Jin has a safe ws2, wr3 blocked into ff2, launching tracking laser string (b,f2...) if not escaped
Ogre has quick unblockables, waning moon throw (df,df2+4?) into guaranteed followups and insane damage
Xiaoyu's stances are broken the most in her Tekken 3 form, she crushes everything
I wanted that outfit back since t5. Harada! 🤔 or Michael... please?
steve was a good save player kinda was broken too(not much as jin), if they ever release tekken collection, i hope they fix their games
Nah I'd rather keep them broken itd be more fun that way
Paul mains still crying for his T4 hair style to return. Pray for season 3.
Yeah but only the faqs are asking for that.good luck boi
Idk why it can't happen. Legacy skins are a thing now.
You know if you hold forward and push LP and i remember it connects as a mid. Crazy Steve Fox
Good pressure and good punishment? Thats an op combination but Steve it's cool
Back one was my shit with steve back in the days
if you have an 8 frame move that is +9 on hit doesnt that mean you can get an infinite? or is there too much pushback? maybe you could do it with the wall if so?
Seems fair
can you make a video on how frames work for us noobs
Nobody:
Mainman: x was insanely broken
jin kazama “insaaanuhly”
Steve beating his dad's arse (Cough! Headcanon! Cough, cough! God Knows, Paul needs a more enthralling backstory (haven't really checked out Tekken 8 yet)).
You pumping these vids out. You realllllllyyyyyyyy love tekken dont you?
...no fucking shit Sherlock.
What do you think, fool?
Is dickjab into dickjab an infinite combo in this? It's +9 on hit but only has 8 start up frames.
No because of pushback after hit
Dick jab 8 frames start-up +9 on hit, does it mean that at the wall you can dick jab endlessly?
I think they’ll eventually start drifting to the left or right
@@nixuniverse5240 yeah it's possible, walls in T4 are very whacky
Corner them and molest +9f
But real Steve players do B+1,b Into flicker then f+3~4,2 for full big launch combo keep it on the down low though save it for the tourney. Steve didnt have tricks to get out of iJF laser scrape so I wouldn't say he's the best vs jin imo
I swear Stevev fox was a cut street fighter character
i already thought kuma, law and yoshi high 8-frame jab in tekken 3 were strong. But a mid its braindead
Lord this song is crack
Steve d/f 1,2 also jails in tekken 5
Man I wish this steve is the Tekken 7 steve just balance the frames. Tekken 4 steve has good sets of move like df+1,2,1. In Tekken 7 would not ever do it because your opponent just stand and block it or duck and punish you, unlike in Tekken 4 if they block it it gives you guard stun punishing turtle players. Now a days if you play steve basically you just back dash, fish for b+1 or df+2, punish whiffs, punish block.
I noticed that in most games the new characters are always either braindead, broken, or both.
That's because new characters in new games often need LOTS of playtesting. The devs can't do it themselves and they also don't have any info from previous games for the balancing issues.
So more often than not, new characters will be nerfed in later patches but they will start out strong
@@solidsnake7023 also, newer characters appeal more to the newer audiences.
it's also because as a developer, its way easier and WAY more achievable to make a character too strong to begin with, then nerf them down into balanced territory, than to release a character too weak and buff them up appropriately. If a character is far too strong on release, people will play them, their issues will be highlighted, and you can get a lot more information and data to work with as a designer as to what strengths you need to cull, whereas with the inverse, people tend not to play characters they find weak and underwhelming, meaning you get a lot less information as to what isn't working with said character and to what degree. As a result, your direction on what to change, how, and how much, becomes drastically muddier, and inevitably, lacking enough outside information, has to be balanced from the perspective of the developer, which may or may not even be remotely accurate in comparison with what the character truly needs, as developer intentions and player realities can often be horrendously misaligned.
Plus as a tiny, yet I suppose relevant side-note, OP characters that get nerfed generally tend to still see play afterwards, as people still recognise them as strong, whereas weak characters, even after receiving adequate buffs, can still sometimes maintain that 'weak' perception in the minds of players, thus resulting in far less play, even if said character is actually no longer weak by any means, as few people played them beforehand enough to care.
TL;DR, as annoying as it can be, it's far easier and better as a developer to design characters 'too strong', then nerf them into balance, than it is to create weak characters that are then buffed into relevance.
Craig Marduk was apparently pretty trash in this (his first) game.
A house in the middle of stage its very very fun!!! Why we dont have this in tekken 7 i want a house in the middle of stage!!!!
I hope Tekken 8 would have random ass walls like this, would make a great addition
Id like uneven terrains to come back along objects standing in the way.
Also breakable pillars.
Funny you used Paul as the training dummy considering Steve canonically lost to Paul in 4
Wait...tekken 4 didn't have sidestep or backdash?
am i the only one noticing? tekken 1-7
harada likes young guys with blonde hair(steve) , he also like chains(devil jin) and he also hates pandas
Didn't Harada only come through after Tekken 4
How did he get tekken 4 to run
Just so you know:
112
1212

All jail in Tekken 7.
Really it's named Playa Beach? Beach Beach???
Far Superior art direction and stage design compared to Tekken 7. Love the variable implementation of walls here.
At least the visual aesthetic of Tekken7 is immediately satisfying (in comparison to other fighting games currently, it grabs the audiences attention by effectively highlighting the animations and moves connecting)
main man: i have less than 1000 online matches played, don't have a lot of time to play ps4 but when i do it's all tekken. i've noticed i need a couple matches to download my opponent, do you have any tips or ideas to figure out people faster? i will regularly lose a couple matches, then i will win out, the problem is that people leave after i beat them once or twice, so i'm not really making any headway, idk what my problem is, it's maybe like my base gameplan going in blind isn't good enough somehow, can anyone help me? im on ps4, add me please i have a mic. would appreciate it.
Idk in what rank you are so what i tell you might not work 100%
If you loose a lot and then download people i belive you are playing to fair and safe(Not to say that that isnt a good idea it just depends on your opponent)
I'd recommend trying to play a bit more risky in the early matches with your opponet since you dont have the Download yet, BUT NIETHER DOES HE. You should start of the round backing up and then put him in small "cheap" Situation to see what he will do. After that you more and more figure out what works and doesnt work. The more matches you play the safer you need to get and the more you will get in his brain, wich means you can defend more acordingly and fully punish him for his flowcharts and mistakes.
Try this and if it doesnt work you should look for help from players who recently got out of your range of ranks( even better if they also play the same charakter)
@@justlesym9014 alright i'll give it a try, do you mean throw more moves that are launch punishable and stuff like that? i guess it doesn't make much difference if they're just landing so much shit that i'm getting launched anyway
8 frame dick jab: (exists)
Ultra Hard AI: :)
TMM really shows he wasn't playing this game seriously as 8 frame jabs were standard.
Per usual, he cries about Kazuya even though this has nothing to do with him. Though to be clear, Kazuya was made to be like Tag Jin since he dominated Tag with a high counterhit launching electric and Tekken4 looked to quiet the bitching about tag: no clones, high electrics, no jacks, etc. This meant Kazuya got his inescapable ws2 stun back.
And Jin was made to be EX Kazuya in Tekken3.
Complaining about stun transitions in the game is valid, but it wasn't like it was only Steve. Kazuya relied on them.
But at least the heart of this vid is correct - Dead Earwicker was there to kick all the ass. Missing from the vid is the beta of the game had 1212 ALL MID.
yeah steves 1 jab was slightly worse compared to other 8 frame jabs, as it was 0 on block as opposed +1 like lee, lei, bryan, law, ling or +2 like paul
his f1 was a 9f mid that was 0 on block
steves dick jab is nothing special in that game lol
loads of characters had an i8, -2 on block and +7 to +9 on hit dick jab
eg hwo, kazuya, paul, julier, jim
