I watched a video from another channel and fought and fought this process. Then I watched your video and realized he was putting the spring in wrong. After watching your video I was able to do it in one try. Thanks
Thank you for these videos they are very helpful however Kyle didn't get the focus on the very critical parts in all 3 videos. I know it's not easy to film but can you please remake these with those parts focused. Thank you
If you wanted to do that, you would look at how the grip safety is a ledge under the sear and go from there to make it not a ledge that catches under the sear.
YOU ROCK ! but please refilm, ask the camera manufacture what backround is required for the auto focus, if they dont know buy one that does. grip safety- Unloading UN jaming roll pin-problem Springfield XD, video might get a few k viewers
Ugh. You made that look easy!! I've broken 2 grip safety springs so far trying to hammer the pin in. I have NO IDEA how you just "popped" the pin in with your hand.
is there a way to remove the grip safety from the gun? i'm not sure if that's the "auto takedown" feature you mention. if it is not, what is the "auto takedown" feature do?
That spring that you were talking about accidentally taking out happened to me and i cant figure out for the life of me how to get it back in and now i have no grip safety tension. The grip safety spring is on there but the other spring is not and the part in the video where your camera man zoomed in was very blurry so i couldn't see. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@stvebnny4 Practice helps. You can use the shaft of a Q-Tip trimmed to the width of the safety to retain the spring and use it as a slave pin if you need a "third hand."
Hey I have a question for the OP. I accidentally tried to check trigger weight. I didn't engage the grip safety. I pressed pretty hard wonder if I could have bent something
I installed a trigger kit on my Sub Compact XD40 a few years ago and I am just now figuring out the grip safety is not working. The bar just lays flat when I get it all back together but it seems work until the last steps in put the slide back on. Someone told me to file down part of the sear but if so, where on the new sear? Thanks. I really need the help.
There is not a safety that does not operate available for the XDS currently. The easiest way to disable it is to use a tape product. We will be releasing a new grip tape product for the XDS in the XDS within the next two weeks and it will have a piece that will allow you to tape over the safety should use choose to.
This is the only video I can find which shows the dissembler and dissembler spring. Unfortunately that’s the part which is out of focus. I really really need to see this.
If I wanted to remove the grip safety, is there a replacement part I can buy somewhere to cover up the hole? I'm not a glock-fanboy(although I do love them) but I've got an XDS and I've had it fail to depress fully when I pull the trigger and if I'm going to carry it and need it at a moment's notice, I would like to not have to worry about my grip. I would rather not drill any holes in the gun if I don't have to
Mavis Blinnie I was wondering if I could disable my grip safety too, I hate the grip safety I've had the same problem in the Springfield xd9 4" service model.
Can you remove the grip safety without taking apart the rest of the frame internals first? I want to stipple a XD so I want the grip safety out of the way while I prep the frame and do the actual stippling then reinstall it once done. I just don't want to have to take apart the entire frame when all I need is the grip safety temporarily out of the way.
@@SpringerPrecision So you can't just drive the grip safety pin out and pull it out do the stippling and then just put it back in and put the pin back? Thanks again for your help.
For some apparent reason my grip safety will not extend from my grip it's stuck in the grip firearm Cycles. What could have caused it to stay inverted????
Those darn little springs, at about 1:20 on for a few seconds, are what I needed to see for reassembly. It's so out of focus at the most critical points for me the video is unfortunately worthless. Sad.

The XDM-Elite 9mm, when you remove the grip safety there are one part and one spring addiction to the grip safety and grip safety spring.
Hi, nice video, congratulations, can i disnable the grip safety funcion, without remove the spring? Tks
You would need to modify the safety or remove it. We don’t give advice on how to disable safeties though for obvious reasons.
@ArmedCivilian556 I don't have a video since I still have mine but by looking at it, it works by solely blocking the sear from moving.
1:30…lol. Thanks Kyle for the focus. The most critical part for me. Ugggggh
We have much newer videos that are clearer videos.
Yes, the springs will come out and you need to remove the sear to get to the safety.
Ugh. You made that look easy!! I've broken 2 grip safety springs so far trying to hammer the pin in. I have NO IDEA how you just "popped" the pin in with your hand.
Practice. You can use a slave pin our a small diameter punch to hold it in place.
Yep. I used a slice of a Q-tip stem as a slave pin, but hammering the main pin in broke the spring. Twice. :( You make it look easy.
If I wanted to disable the grip safety, so that I did not have to ensure the grip safety was depressed to fire the gun, how would I do this?

I don't see how you could bend something checking the trigger pull weight without being very violent.
