So, which slide do I need to mount the Holosun AEMS?
Legion M17
Will this work with factory 23 round magazines?
I think it would require beveling of the plastic on the spacer to seat inside the magwell.
Do your compensators work for the model xdm elite 3.8 45acp ?
Yes
@SpringerPrecision - Thanks, I look forward to doing business with the company
I got this kit for the M17 and 407k and the screws provided aren't the correct thread pitch for the slide. They bind on the first turn with my fingers. I emailed about it but haven't heard back yet
@@MrKells503 you should get a customer service response on Tuesday or Wednesday with the holiday. Typically, there are two sets of screws, on for the plate to the slide and the other the optic to the plate. They should be labeled so you make sure they fit before attempting to mount the plate.
@@SpringerPrecision the plate and slide holes share the same screws for the 407k and only the 2 screws in the kit
@@MrKells503 so you have a spacer plate and not a mounting plate? They will be able to assist you. Sometimes the holes in the slide are a bit rough and gently using the wrench can fix that. We’ve seen them that need to be chased with a tap also.
Given that the screw is used to lock the plug in place, how do you get it out?
@@spencertidd it is a low grade vibration thread locker. You can just screw it right out.
@@SpringerPrecision I mean the plug - how do you turn the plug to get it out?
@@spencertiddthe video describes this. Just use the screw that holds the magwell on and screw it in without the magwell on. When it reaches the bottom of the hole, it will turn the plug and then you just pull it out,
@@SpringerPrecision Thanks - that makes sense, but FYI the video does not show or talk about removal, or maybe I am going completely mad! :)
@@spencertidd 1:00 in it shows you how to turn the insert. I guess we didn't think that we would need to explain that taking it out is the reverse of putting it in :)
Under which circumstances would you want to install your power spring? Im asking since I just installed your magwell, installed your mag extension with a power spring, and I cant get any more than 15 rounds in the magazine (with your extension and power spring) This is on a PX4. Thank you
Please make sure the bottom retainer plate isn’t on the bottom of the spring. The spring is used when the factory spring needs replacement. Orders@springerprecision.com can assist with more detailed assistance.
@@SpringerPrecision Thanks for the reply
Any reason you make this from 6061 and not something like higher grade aluminum 7075 or titanium alloys or a tool steel?
Steel is heavier and adds no value in the 9mm rounds, it also decreases reliability with the common rounds used off the shelf. We’ve made and tested 7075 and they perform the same as the 6061, so we do not want to increase the cost with no significant added value.
@@SpringerPrecision thank you. I have a 10mm. I’m thinking I may get the extended bar-sto barrel and a brake.
is this color silver or dark gray? Black is out of stock and trying to see if this is a dark gray.
Please contact orders@springerprecision.com and they can help you with your question. Typically, it is a darker gray when anodized, not silver.
Great vid. To the point, and thanks for not having annoying background music!
im very disappointed that you need to replace the rod and the spring… i made the effort to order it via a friend to europe and now im sitting here watching the installation video and i basically only have 1/3 of the whole set…
You only need to replace the spring weight if your ammunition doesn’t cycle the slide.
@@SpringerPrecision Aah ok now i think i got it - thanks for replying
Will this plate fit the Athlon Midas flash optic?
@@anthonysullivan9805 please contact orders@springerprecision.com for customer support. Thank you.
Thank you video was so helpful
To clarify the open end goes towards the front (muzzle) of the pistol?
Yes, open end toward the muzzle, closed coil toward the base of the rod.
@@SpringerPrecisionI got the 24lb recoil spring and neither side was closed is that ok?
@@arlovskifan if there isn’t a closed end, it doesn’t matter.
Does this work for XDM elite compact?
Yes, they are the same.
Will a tyrant CNC Mag extension work with this?
@@aaronwilson4747 I’ve never seen those extensions. Customer service might know orders@springerprecision.com
@@SpringerPrecision Thanks, I will do just that.
That’s the set up for my Sig P320 X10 comp!!!
If you shoot it till it gets real hot say 200 rounds in couple minutes, will that cause the loctite to release?
The thread locker is rated to 450 degrees. It should not release under any non abuse use.
Does this work for the XD subcompact
Yes.
Will these work on 10rd magazines?
Please contact orders@springerprecision.com for customer support questions. Thank you.
I got 15 rd magazines and I can’t fit your competition basepads does it only work on the 17 rd magazine? I live in a restricted state so I can’t have a 17 or 20 rd magazine
Please contact customer support orders@springerprecision.com and they can assist you. Thank you.
So I have a 15 round magazine and having a difficult time trying to install the competition base plate pads ( not the magazine extension) on the magazines. Can you please upload a video how too install on the Illinois complaint magazines
They work only with the full sized 17 round magazines as the reduced capacity magazines have a spacer to make up for the short magazine tube.
With this magwell installed on a Compact, will factory 17 round magazines seat successfully? If yes, is the "gap" between the top of the basepad and bottom of the grip basically filled in by this magwell? Also, can you use the smallest backstrap or do you need to use a medium/large backstrap?
@@otherhanwei our basepads or extensions must be used as the tube bodies are to short to be used with the factory pads. The smaller backstrap will work, but there will be a gap.
@@SpringerPrecision I understand that the 15 round tubes with factory pads are too short, but even the 17 round tubes with factory pads? Appreciate your time!
@@otherhanwei If they don't have a spacer, otherwise they would need to be modified to seat properly.
@@SpringerPrecision Thank You!
Hi, nice video, congratulations, can i disnable the grip safety funcion, without remove the spring? Tks
You would need to modify the safety or remove it. We don’t give advice on how to disable safeties though for obvious reasons.
For some reason my timing is so off
Soringfiejd does not time their barrels.
@@SpringerPrecision really . I can’t even get the comp half way through,
@@xgaugesxplease contact our customer support orders@springerprecision.com and they can assist you. Thank you.
Wow so easy. Thanks and thank you springfield
What's the best way to go about bending the top end of the spring into a hook in order to properly seat it into the loop on the underside of the follower?
Would have rather seen a more competition style magwell for the large frame, but I guess this is useful.
We do the higher volume parts first. The smaller carry/duty wells sell 10-1 over the larger competition products, especially since they are banned from the USPSA classes this pistol best fits in.
Will the oem mag will work with the magwell?? Without modification to the mag
I have this same question
@@JoshuaE-BiblePatriotno
You need to buy the baseplates as well
Any chance of making the magwell bigger for Limited Optics Division?
We just released a new version of this magwell. We might make a larger version in the future, but we did increase the surface area while keeping it smaller on this version. The video for the new well is uploading right now.
I want this. And your trigger assembly with an aluminum trigger. And the open magwell. And a treaded barrel. However I can't find the trigger assembly on your web page. I don't like the pull on the factory trigger. It feels like it's 7 lbs.
Is the silver magwell available? I see it in the images but not in the color selection. I've been waiting for the silver color to come out for a while.
Loctited compansators suck. It's just annoying. Maybe talk to Springfield about their compansator system that clicks into an alignment notch at the bottom of the threaded barrel. It's super nice on the Hellcat RDP. And i'm sure you could easily license that system for the Echelon. Sure, licensing fees suck, but the improovement in ease of installation would be well worth it.
You overlooked two things 1. The barrels are not cut with a notch like the Hellcat. 2. Thread locker is much better than a screw that can damage the thread and need picture anyway. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
Loving all these echelon aftermarket upgrades coming from yall
Shouldn’t drop the slide on an empty chamber!
It sounds like you need to update your pistol knowledge.
Would these fit in a shadow 2 that have non cut LOK grips
Yes, they fit the factory grips that don’t extend past the bottom of the frame.
@@scottspringer5698 sweet! When will the silver one be restocked?
Any suggestions for a less permanent solution than red loctite? I want to be able to switch to a suppressor on occasion. There is a an upgraded medium loctite called 243, if I am generous with that and it cures well, should it be ok? If I HAVE to use red (271-272), how can I safely remove the comp?
Red Loctite is very simple to use and remove. We use a small pen type torch for removal for maintenance or accessory swap.
@@GranTigerGaming you just heat the comp, let it cool and remove it once the thread locker is deactivated. It is very easy to do.
Guys.. When are the normal extended releases coming back in stock in black? Can only find them in Red anywhere. Not these ones with the detachable pad, but the normal shaped release that has the horizontal lines cut into it.
Nice vid , please indicate the shop to buy these parts and also ref for the comp, Spring and guide rod. Thanks
When can i buy one of these in black from you folks? All i see is Red anywhere....
uh, looks like too much work for me. I'll pass on doing this myself and just send it in to them instead.
I bought a brand new S&W 10mm M&P PC and I have had a metric ton of problems, one of which has been magazines falling out mid firing. As best I can figure, the cause is poor magazine design as depending on the ammo you choose, the bullets seem to be pushing the magazine catch out of position as they feed and the force of the shot then shakes the magazine out of the gun. I am curious if replacing the mag release button might help this issue or is the new mag catch the exact same dimension as the OEM part?
Can I go to the right side in a left handed
Yes
what's the add on options when you select the 140mm to add to the cart. what do they do
Wattttt fucking playe
I have no idea what you are saying.
Thank you, good video. Just trying to decide which optic to get.
Anyone know where i can get a barrel for this??
We sell barrels from Barsto Precision.
I was wondering the same thing. If you are running the XDM elite 9 mm, Springfield has them in stock right now.
@@christopher7310 10mm😕
“For you regular people, make it snug” 😂 Love it
You guys have been sold out of the tan anodizing magwells for awhile now. When will a re-stock happen ?
Please sign up for the notification on the product page and you will get a notification as soon as they are back from coating. We ran another 1,000 wells and they are at coating right now.
Nothing is ever in stock with these people ! Annoying!
We have over 3 million dollars of parts in stock and ready to ship. With new parts, sometimes there is a greater demand than anticipated, and we have a large amount of PX4 parts just waiting on coating to restock and ship. We wish our crystal ball told us also as being out of stock on parts is very frustrating for us also.
Good products from small companies tend to sell fast
You should include the wrench with the purchase of the comp, or at least sell them for a few bucks extra.
They are for sale for a few bucks more.
@@scottspringer5698 Nice!
