- Thank you to Paul at Left a Coast Models for the very inspiring idea of the "Model Cars & Coffee"!
We are happy to join in the fun and share more of our older builds along with some current projects!
This episode we talk about Revell's 1965 Chevy step side pickup. one of my all time favorite Pickups!
This one was the first series attempt at weathering!
Hope you all enjoy!
BG
Great build BG, thanking for sharing.
Thank you Donnie!!🙏
Awesome build! I find it hard to believe that was your first attempt at weathering. And the wheels/tires treatment fits right into today's 1 to 1 world concerning patinaed vehicles!
Thank you Johnny!! Yep, this was my first and i feel i learned a lot doing this one!
Great looking shop truck
Thank you!!! 😀🙏
That came out amazing love the rest with the White Walls.
Thank you!!!🙏😀
Very cool my friend!!

Great build Brian... love the mini bike in the bed...
Thank you!!! They really fit the build!😁
Very cool Mr BG!! The oldies are truly goodies! Love the bikes!
Thanks my friend, so true!!! I love the little bikes! Such great diorama pieces! 😁.....you know, one day! Lol
The whole Cars and Coffee (either 1:1, or model) has made our hobbies so much more enjoyable.
Agreed!!!😁

Thank you Alan!! this was the first one i went all out on!
Looks Great for your first time out!!!!! Thanks for sharing Bryan.
Thank you Mike!! it's funny that i look at this truck and can remember every decision I made as i worked on it originally.
I think it's kind of neat to go back and look at some of your old builds and see how far you've come in your modeling 👍👍
I 100% agree Charles!
That is still a very cool build. You did a great job on it, Ya Know...BACK IN THE DAY!
LOL!!!! thanks my friend!
Awesome BG! The older builds are golden. They show so much how we want to do it the best we could at the time! Thanks for sharing!
LLAP 🖖
Exactly!! Well said my friend!! LLAP

Hey BG. For a " first time " weathering job, this truck looks amazing! Keep up the great work, and stay awesome!
Hi Edward! thank you so much!! you as well my friend!!
You do such amazing work Brian. Beautiful build
WOW!! Carl that means the world to me my friend!
That's a great looking weatherd truck, more so as it was your first time ,excellent
Thank you Martin!! Yeah, the first build I went all out on!
You showed me your underside! (Of the truck). 😂 Looks great, regardless of it being an old build and the start of your weathering adventure.
Thank you my friend!! I learned a lot after this build, i feel this was a great bench mark to start with in the world of weathering!
This is cool! Love the little details on here and seeing where it all started
Thank you Cal! Cheers!!
Great build. One of your favourite colour schemes (orange and blue). The sheet of panelling in the bed is inspired, a great, cheap solution to cover the floor of the bed.
Thank you Steve! My wood grain painting wasn't yet up to par so it was my only fall back plan.
Super cool BG. That’s a very neat old truck build. And the weathering still looks great. Really like it.
Thanks Kyle!! =)
@@BGsModelWorkshop you’re welcome!
That's awesome. Looks good to me.
Thanks Ron!!
That's awesome thanks for sharing
Thank you Ron!! =)

I love that truck Brian! I did a similar style on my Ranchero. Happy Sunday ☕😎👍
Hi Mike! thank you sir!! oh sweet! Sometimes a build is just calling for a patina! =)
That Chevy turned out great, BG!
Thank you!! first one i went all out on and messed up the paint job on purpose! =)
It looks great BG 😃
Thanks Jim!! =)
Great update nice truck
Thanks Leon!!
It looks cool. Great first try.
Thank you Harvey! =)
Very cool, I really like revisiting old projects like this! I just built one of those little yellow bikes, AMT included it with a bunch of kits but in my case it was out of the original Bigfoot.
Hi Spencer! Really!! it was the big foot kit also!! That is really cool! I wish i could recall which kit i got min in.
Grea... Umm... Goo.... Nice truck BG!
@@kellydcoons LOL!
Really cool Bryan, ☕👍
Thanks Tom!!! 🙏😀
Chevy looks awesome Bryan.. Have been thinking on jumping in on this myself.. Bikes look sweet..
Thanks Kreg! I really think that would be a great idea to revisit older builds!

Cool build!!
Thank you!! Glad you liked it!
very nice.. thx 4 sharing.. vinny
Thank you Vinny! glad to see you are back home and cranking the videos!
I was at the Good Guys Show in Pleasanton on Sunday. Your truck would have fit right in! I have the AMT 50 Chevy pick upthat I was going to build like a truck I see every once in a while, but there were a few at the show that had very cool patina, so I will probably need another Chevy p/u kit.
Hi John! awesome!! I miss that show!! I think you need to find another pick up kit! =)
Looks very realistic, nice job. Just subscribed.
Hi Terry! thank you so much!!! Just returned the favor!
@@BGsModelWorkshop Thank you
Nice Ole truck did same but with Tamiya red with flat clear
Sweet! i bet that looked great!
WOW Bryan! I'm like everyone else and I'm FLOORED that this was your first attempt at weathering a model. I think that the "patina"is good looking and those wheels & tires look appropriate on the truck. The wood paneling in the truck bed was a clever idea. So this is the original model that set you off on the Weathering Path"? I'm glad that you're doing a Model Cars & Coffee too but if you wanted to make your videos stand out from the rest, how about "B.G.'s Brews & Builds" 🍺or the "PG" version, "Bryan's Bacon 🥓& Builds"🤣 As you're describing your weekly build you could be munching on some delicious bacon.😂 Take care & stay cool Bryan.
Tom S.
Hi Tom! Thank you!! yep, this one was the first one i really went for the patina and weathered look. before i would just weather the chassis or the engine bay. Glad you liked my wood paneling idea LOL. it was the best i could do at the time and now i really like how it looks! LOL, now that's a fun idea! Should i live the dream and sip a beer while filming a video A la Charlie Mac? LOL Nah, I'll stick with the coffee deal for now. And i learned a lesson about eating pizza and work on models!! so the bacon would be a pass for now LOL. thanks the for fun comment !
Nice
Thanks Steve!!
You say there is no "story" to this build, but I will tell you this: art is subjective and often expands beyond the artist's original intent. This is the 2nd build of yours I have seen that has a "dessert vehicle vibe". Makes sense with where you live right? Vehicles that are saved the tinworm of snowy winters and salty roads, but whose finishes are absolutely punished by the UV damage of decades of a dessert sun. As for the bike, I had an MPC Datsun "Dessert Rat" that came with two Husqvarnas back when I was a teenager.
Hi Jason, thank you for the very kind comment. I think you are right about the bikes. I got mine from an AMT parts pack that had just the bikes included. I recall MPC had a long bed Chevy step side pickup that came with two bikes also! 😁
Scale Motorsports makes a Mexican blanket decal sheet.
ah ha! perfect! thankyou Tony!! I'm going to make a note for future builds!!
Beautiful work! How did you score the balsa wood to make it so realistic? Thanks!
Hi Jimmy. I picked it up at hobby lobby. Most stores have a small section of stuff wood for craft purposes
The weathering actually looks great. Story or not. I weathered the same kit. It's the '65.
Looks great
Howdy! THANK YOU!! i could not for the life of me recall which it was! These trucks look amazing either weathered or customized!! =)

LOL.
Very nice BG! I still see them looking like that up here 👍
Hi Joe! I bet!!! I recall some rather hammered look trucks while up there! =)
