As being a former Mattel employee myself. I will never get rid of my prototypes, rejected samples, toy fair cars, Hot Wheels packaging samples, unspun body, resin prototypes, and employee cars. Have to win the lottery to pry them off my hands!
If you met my uncle he'd definitely talk you into letting go of atleast 1 car. He's sold traded and collected hot wheels for atleast 30 years now. In fact being born in the early 90's in the late 2000's I gave him all my hot wheels I played with. I had an entire 30 gallon garbage bag full it was heavy as hell not to mention I gave him all the ones I had collected still in box 😂 kinda mad I did that now. Also sold him all my micro machines 😭😭
I'm 76 yrs old and accumulated almost 400 Hot Wheels and I've only been addicted for a few months. Since I'm home-bound my trips to the store are very rare due to me not being allowed to drive any longer. Just gazing at my collection is like therapy. It helps me relax and transfer me to a different place where I can smile continuously.
my collection has all been opened now by my 2 grandsons i just cant say no to them but seeing them play with the cars fills my heart with pure joy.35 years collecting .now opened up.
I'm 56 years old and I love my hot wheels collection.I've done a big no no and that's the fact that most of my collection I took them out of the bubble wrap but that's because I want to hold them and check them out.I never started collecting as an investment I collect them for the love of cars.
It would’ve been a big no no to not open them. I’m 53 and I still collect, I even have the ones I had from when I was a kid. I used to be adamant about not opening them and now I wished I would’ve opened them sooner. I don’t collect based on value either, what’s funny is that the only ones I keep carded are the mainlines that I get. My RLC Exclusives, convention, or nationals castings all go in my display cabinets I have one the wall. Those or my more rare castings are all in displays that have clear doors on them. My STHs and Premiums all go in my open displays on the walls. I enjoy looking and being able to feel what it takes to make a HW. I’m not a cardboard and plastic collector anymore 😂. One thing that I did learn from opening them is that from them sitting so long in the blisters, it ruins some of them. All the pieces that may had a small rubber band holding a piece down or like a surfboard in place, the rubber band actually meshed into the paint. I had original Real Riders still carded and tires were cracking to where small pieces were falling off. I’ve always keep my collection away from any types of elements like moisture or heat and away from humidity. Some of my more favorite castings were starting to discolor on the side that was against the card itself. Well sorry for the long comment, and happy collecting
that's one of the most amazing collections I have ever seen. The Pink Beach bomb is a sight to witness. You think it's a myth until you actually a collector who owns one. That and many of the other foreign Hot Wheels memorabilia. I would love to see that Red Lines collection up close. I have a couple Red Lines, but since those are way out of my league price point I decided to collect the series Hot Wheels named First Editions that ran from mid 90's to 2005. I don't have them all, but I'm working on it.
I grew up in the neighborhood next to El Segundo, the home town of Mattel, and in the late 1990s my brother in law was one of the vice presidents of Mattel. He gave me a couple of rare cars but my sister has some very rare Barbie dolls that he gave her. But, my favorite thing is I got to work at Mattel in around 2012 or 2013. I'm an electrician and a friend I grew up with is the electrical contractor for all the work at Mattel offices etc... . I got to work inside one of the buildings where there were display cases all over the place with prototypes and drawings of Hot Wheels. But the coolest part was spending two work days working next to the full-size versions of the Twinmill and the Red Baron Hot Wheels. Unfortunately there was no photos allowed to be taken and there was always a security guard with us while we worked, otherwise I would have taken some photos. I'm 58 years old, so born in 1965, I am definetly a Hot Wheels kid. My brother and I owned hundreds of feet of track and probably a hundred cars during our childhood. I still have a few in storage in a box but most had been played with so much they got destroyed one way or another. I wish I still had those cars.
It truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit. We did our best to get both the history and a good general overview of the entire collection. I wish we had time to share in more detail! Thanks for watching.
To think about all the hot wheels stuff my brothers and I had. And it's all long gone. Used to get together with the neighbor kids and make elaborate race tracks, jumps, and loops. Hours of fun. What fun. 62 years old now this was yesteryear. What about the track, and the various boosters that were available??
All of the Redline (and Blackwall) tracks and accessories are very collectible. They are not as valuable as the cars, but still cool! Thanks for watching!
I think i need to stop collecting. This collection is the Ultimate. Never mind the dollars spent, ...the dedication, research and time involved was obviously a life long labor of love.
I was fortunate to find a few posters from 2000, 2005 & 2006 in pretty mint shape for a few dollars. The one from 2000 I get very emotional when I look at it because I was graduating high school. I’ve noticed the era that’s finally getting some attention is the HW 1980s onward.
The best thing about this video is them touring more than just the Beach Bomb. That car has been shown many times, but the rest of the history is never showcased like this.
This has to be the most coolest video of hot wheels i have seen. Its like walking through a hot wheels museum. Thank you for showing these awesome hot wheels. If I was there it would be heaven and awesome
i guess this is how a collection looks if money isent a issue . and making sure everything is kept in perfect condition for atleast his lifetime . mindboggeling collection .
Way cool! My cousin ended up with probably 200-300 of my original hot wheels and threw them in the trash. It still breaks my heart. I wish my parents would have had more sense to save them and put them away.
Because the show is just a scripted show who gets people from all over that have super rare stuff that they know aren't really going to sell it and they make it appear like they're just people off the street trying to sell something and they talk about the history etc and people learn something new. It's all fake for the most part.
I don't really collect but will buy some from the local grocery store from time to time. One time a stock clerk told me there is a collector who who spends $100 a week and has a collection worth $80,000.
The best part of all of my years of being a kid, then father around Hot Wheels was steppin on one in bare feet. Once the pain went away we'd all laugh about it.
A great collection. I’m wondering if you or Bruce have any of the real riders in your collection. I have a collection of all three of these ( although, probably not as vast as you two have). Truly love the collection. Great job on your story. You have a new subscriber.

No, but they were a manufacturer for Mattel. The Tara toy company began in 1977 with licensed action figure and doll cases for Mattel. www.anbmedia.com/features/2010/11/tara-toy-keeps-moving-forward/
Looking to sell all my Hot Wheels that i collected from 1976 to 2001 first edition and other H.W. cars with Richard Petty on them. All are still in the original package. Any idea the best place to sell them? I'm looking to sell all without separating them.
I want to visit your collection and bring my 11 year old son. We have a pretty big collection. I started his collection for him when he was 2 years old.😊😊😊😊😊
One minor correction. The box that is described as a "printer's proof" is likely not. It's still special, just not unusual. Every sheet off of the press run would have had the CMYK swatches and various targets that the pressman used to ensure fit/registration, color match, etc. Most proofing would have been completed and signed off on prior to the press run and the pressman would color match to that proof. Unless there are signatures or other official approval on the sheet it is likely just one sheet pulled from the overall run.
When I went to college, some neighborhood kids stole my collection. The thieves are named Clark Glave and Parks Duffey. It took me a while to find out who did it. I wish I had reported them to the police. It still hurts today.
I'm not down with slandering matchbox vehicles at all. They came before Hotwheels so you've gotta show some respect. I think Matchbox (historically) is based more in reality and Hotwheels, based more in the fantasy world; so ofcourse that fantasy world of elaborate Hot rods etc is going to be more appealing to kids. But you had Dinky toys, and then came Matchbox and then, came Hotwheels, and you've gotta show some love for what came before, because without Dinky, there would be no Matchbox, and then then there would be no Hotwheels. Crazy collection this guys got however, I'd love to visit that place some day...😃

Loved having you come by!!
It was an absolute treat for both of us! Thanks again for opening your doors to Get Out N Drive Podcast.
Bruce Pascal is an amazing presenter. He makes me want to become a collector of Hot Wheels.
As being a former Mattel employee myself. I will never get rid of my prototypes, rejected samples, toy fair cars, Hot Wheels packaging samples, unspun body, resin prototypes, and employee cars. Have to win the lottery to pry them off my hands!
Everybody croaks, they'll get back onto circulation thanks to one of your uninterested family members..
Saw you on pawn stars
@Roger: Do they give to all employees or just by department or length of time there?
If you met my uncle he'd definitely talk you into letting go of atleast 1 car. He's sold traded and collected hot wheels for atleast 30 years now. What?
Congratulations, you win.
Great jobs, great therapy is true.
This is literally like visiting the best Hot Wheels museum there is. A real piece of diecast history. Thanks for the tour!
You bet!
my collection has all been opened now by my 2 grandsons i just cant say no to them but seeing them play with the cars fills my heart with pure joy.35 years collecting .now opened up.
Worth it.
Oh hell no
The box art and art are all of part of the fun, beautiful cars and great times

The nostalgia and history of this hobby is phenomenal! I am a collector turned racer but....i still collect 😎 absolute cherry collection!!
As always…love watching Bruce’s collection 👍👍❤️
Very interesting! Bruce has an amazing collection!
I think so too!
Good video but, Please do more close ups of the items you talk about.
Outstanding!! Collection!!! Thanks for the ride!!

I wish I still had those cars.
They sent the wrong guy for this. I would been going insane!!
I did my best to keep my cool! Bruce’s collection and his hot wheels knowledge is incredible!
The love passion and knowledge of this curator makes the museum great and complete.
Great piece!!! Love to see more detailed close ups of the stuff you’re highlighting! We need part two and three.
It truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit. We did our best to get both the history and a good general overview of the entire collection. I wish we had time to share in more detail! Thanks for watching.
Awesome video, Bruce is like the Jay Leno of Diecast Collecting. I couldn't help but notice he had some awesome real world cars as well.
This was Just Awesome!!!!! Thank You so Much!!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
What a collection! By the way, in German "Heisse Räder" de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hot_Wheels is prounced "heiss-uh RAY-der".
This guy is genius collector. He is #1.
Beautifully produced video. Thank you for all the great information.
Glad you dig it! Its always a great time hanging with Bruce. I learn something new every time.
very cool
I think that pink beach buggy was found in an antique shop in Montreal of all places.
and to think as kids we played with these cars in the dirt then left them outside in the rain lol
That’s why clean and undamaged cars are so rare!
To think about all the hot wheels stuff my brothers and I had. And it's all long gone. Used to get together with the neighbor kids and make elaborate race tracks, jumps, and loops. Hours of fun. I just found a 67 SS Chevelle!
I have one of every mainline car ever made NIP and 10s of 1000s more RLCs and specials. 😋
Sounds like a great collection!
I think i need to stop collecting. This collection is the Ultimate. Never mind the dollars spent, ...the dedication, research and time involved was obviously a life long labor of love.
Love my Hot Wheels! But I have to say the Matchboxes from the 70s and 80s were more refined, better finished and more realistic.
Amazing!
OMG ! The best 35 minutes of My day! I love seeing and still learning about Hot Wheels that I didn't know about. Great video
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cool video! Well done! :)
Thank you very much!

More space is spent displaying everything other than the cars themselves.
That made my day to see this fabulous video!
I’m glad you dig it!
Wow
this is an amazing collection wow, thanks for posting
i guess this is how a collection looks if money isent a issue . and making sure everything is kept in perfect condition for atleast his lifetime . mindboggeling collection .
Do we get any close-ups of the cars they're talking about?
Thanks for the input. We tried our best to generalize all aspects of.
Way cool! My cousin ended up with probably 200-300 of my original hot wheels and threw them in the trash. It still breaks my heart. I wish my parents would have had more sense to save them and put them away.
Bruce is a Great guy & Friend
Would have been nice to see the displays instead of watching you guys talk.
Super cool ❤
this was awesome!!
Thanks Jake! I appreciate you coming over and checking it out! Jason
I saw John on Pawn Stars show offering to sell the pink VW surf bus .. I wonder why ? he still has it now
Because the show is just a scripted show who gets people from all over that have super rare stuff that they know aren't really going to sell it and they make it appear like they're just people off the street trying to sell something and they talk about the history etc and people learn something new. @@prophez23just like wrestling.. 😆 all scripted. Still interesting to watch and I've even learned a few things.. From pawn stars.. Not wrestling. 😆
Beautiful!!!

The best part of all of my years of being a kid, then father around Hot Wheels was steppin on one in bare feet. Once the pain went away we'd all laugh about it.
I remember in mid late 70's in KB Toys store in Mall matchbox cars was in small box.
They think we can zoom out and see the 600 cars 😂 😅
Nicely done 🏁
WOW just wow
IKR!

No close ups? Why?
Sorry! We did our best!
These kind people are the cherries on the cake of humanity.
Would have been nice to see the cars in better angles, or closer up he really didn't do a good job of showing the displays
Always a hotwheels fan.
Love the collection, hated all of the questions that we don't know the answers to! Just tell us.
Hot Wheels have never been big here in Denmark, it's only within the last 10-15 years that they have started to appear on the scene

No, but they were a manufacturer for Mattel. The Tara toy company began in 1977 with licensed action figure and doll cases for Mattel. www.anbmedia.com/features/2010/11/tara-toy-keeps-moving-forward/
Nice but whats up with the cameraman?! I'd like to see the that hot wheels objects you're talking about not you guys talking

Looking to sell all my Hot Wheels that i collected from 1976 to 2001 first edition and other H.W. cars with Richard Petty on them. All are still in the original package. Any idea the best place to sell them? I'm looking to sell all without separating them.
Ebay is a great place to reach a broad audience.
Does Bruce own any of the original cases the 1968 Hot Wheels cars were shipped in by any chance?
I think he has some!
I want to visit your collection and bring my 11 year old son. We have a pretty big collection. I started his collection for him when he was 2 years old.😊😊😊😊😊

And Now I am back collecting hotwheels but this time I am no longer collecting the fictional ones. I am collecting the real life based cars.
the Same with me, my mom gave me back the Matchbox cars and some Hot Wheels !
My local Zip code is on the, why Amstelveen ?
When I went to college, some neighborhood kids stole my collection. The thieves are named Clark Glave and Parks Duffey. It took me a while to find out who did it. I wish I had reported them to the police. It still hurts today.
I think I sold you some collectible hot wheels on eBay 😊

Hi , how much is that rare pink vw worth? Do you guys know, or was it evaluated?
Well over $250,000
What does this guy do ??? Saw a real Ferrari in the background.
www.cnn.com/2020/12/24/success/most-valuable-hot-wheels-car/index.html
You saw a real C8 Corvette in the background
i had every treasure hunt;;do they still have 12 every year.
How did dude "invent" them when they were just knock-offs of Matchbox cars??
My friend has a complete collection he was looking to possibly sell.
Prototypes
Birthday cars for employees
Gold collection
No barcode cars
Cars with metal clippings before paint
He has everything
Otto signatures
Delorean signatures
A museum asked him to curate and keep up the collection, possibly explaining the history of hot wheels to people.
FAnatic! I bet he sleeps with them!
Maybe with your mom
That's a separate video
Somebody tell me what that pink VW is worth please. You have to start your learning journey somewhere.....😅
Several hundred thousand dollars!
It would've been great if the camera operator zoomed in or walked closer to the displays so we could actually see what they were discussing...
It truly was a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit. We did our best to get both the history and a good general overview of the entire collection. I wish we had time to share in more detail! Thanks for watching.

Do you have any Custom Camaros or Custom Mustangs in your collection?
