GrblGru: How to engrave turned parts

- This video shows how to engrave turned parts with a 4-axis CNC machine.
It was already possible to machine round components in the past, but the machining options were very limited. Now, however, it is possible to machine rotationally symmetrical components in a similar way to components on normal 3-axes.
Machining methods such as CUT, POCKET, CHAMFER and even V_CARVE can now also be used on the rotary axis. Engraving in particular now opens up new ways of machining wood, glass and even metal
The video only provides a general overview of a possible process. Basic knowledge of how to use GrblGru is assumed. More detailed descriptions would have driven the length of the video to infinity. For interested newcomers, here is a reference to previous videos and discussions in well-known CNC forums like i.e. CNCzone.
The necessary software GrblGru is free of charge.
You can reproduce all the processes shown in the video in the simulation mode of GrblGru.

Greetings from Rochester New York ! You do amazing work !!!
Absolutely wonderful, thank you for sharing.
Fantastic program. Congratulations and thank you!
Amazing Project !!
I don't know what your business model is, but I'm sure the community would be very appreciative if you could open source this project (even if it's under a restrictive license). As far as I know there aren't very many open source CAM systems that could compete with this. It would be a great addition to the open source (CNC) ecosystem.

Good morning,
it's really a great job
Thank you for these superb videos
Congratulations
I would very much appreciate it if you could upload a 5 axis milling tutorial.
So amazing.
Amazing
Genius. 😊
Hello bro, I wanna work with you, I want to donate an industrial CNC for your research
do you have discord or support forums, cuz when i try controlling my steppers with gru they just start overheating, but work fine in grbl laser, any idea what i did wrong?
Sorry, I'm not a controller expert. It won't be the software. I don't know if your driver has the option of reducing the current during idle time.
I think I will get my router lathe going again and maybe add another axis!
Can I feed probe point into Grblgru from a file for this? (In place of probing). If so, how would the file need to be formatted?
Yes, it's possible. Create a .txt file like this:
#Rotate
0,0
10,10
100,10
and drag&drop it to the graphic window
How to set up rollout in tranformation mode for a ellipse shape - cylinder?
All you need is an elliptical STL
Hi
Is it possible to Raspberry Pi integrate the software?
No, unfortunately this is not possible
@@grblgruIs it possible to make s-curve for grbl?
