    The first car I ever bought new was an 82 manual, non-turbo, slick top with leather, two-tone black and silver paint. Man, I loved that car. It was damaged by Hurricane Alicia. I was heartbroken. Years later, I got a new 90 300ZX TT. That was the best car I ever owned.

      I love those 2 tone ones, they just look so good. Brother I'm sorry to hear that, had a car in high school similar thing happened :/ But hey the 300 turbo is AWESOME. Had an 82 280zx turbo 5 speed I sure wish I had still.

      @Feral80sKid I miss them both, and I am always looking for one. Good ones are hard to find and can get pricey for the 300s.

    I just got my first 79' 280zx a couple months ago, i'm 21 now not the most showcar shape, but still in good condition with no rust. Got it for 3700 which i thought wasn't terrible given the price for some shells i've seen. I love it and i'm more of a domestic kind of guy as I got a 73' Mustang for my 17th birthday. Working on cars is almost, almost theraputic sometimes haha. Love your car man hope mine will look as good as yours someday.

      Thanks so much my friend, you did great for that price, for a solid car definitely! Congrats too btw:) More of a domestic car guy myself but the 280zx is just a good looking car, have some cars on this channel you'd probably like, for sure therapeutic working on em lol. Glad your generation is embracing these cars, they're good looking and super fun to drive, take care and thanks for the comment❤️🤝

    Thanks for the video and hope to see more! That's a great looking '83 you have! I love seeing other people enjoying these cars as much as I have over the years. Once you own one it's hard to get them out of your system lol. My first one was a 1979 when I was 16 in 1986. I have a 1983 now that I bought a few years ago. I'm getting to enjoy owning one all over again.

      Glad you have another one, it's surreal being back in something you had long ago. My first Z was also a 79 about 15 years ago. Love these cars a lot, and definitely hard not to have one once you have lol. When I was in high school I had a blue 1978 Firebird Formula, was a 350 with a 4 speed manual, now I have the 78 Trans Am 4 speed you see in my profile picture haha, I can relate my friend, thank you so much for watching, enjoy your ZX ^^

    I always liked the Z cars and the 2+2's, I hear Nissan did a very good job with the build quality and design.

      Definitely, the older ones are great as long as they don't see winter/salt.

    Sweet ride! I had the exact same car except mine was red. It also was a one owner car from Texas and was garage kept. I bought it in 1996 and it had 62K miles when I drive her home for $5500.00. It ended up getting totaled. A kid shot the gap and I was on the receiving end. He was driving a Jeep Cherokee and it was sitting on top of the drivers side hood when said and done. Bent frame, snapped the fuel injection off the head just to name a couple things. Another second and it would’ve been sitting on top of me.

    Great video, it's my favourite car nd here in England they are fetching about 20k plus for good condition one. Back in 1980 we went to school in a 280zx fairlady which over here at that time was the highest spec you could have. I wanted one a few years back but couldn't afford one at the time but did manage to get a 300zx fairlady which I've had about 8 years now in excellent condition with 85k on the clock. My profile picture is my car..

      Thank very much, cheers^^ Beautiful car you have and love the color. They are definitely getting expensive, so hard to find rust free. They greatly improved the rust prevention technology on your 300zx thankfully. Really cool that you all got to go to school in one lol.

    love the video got an 82 turbo as my first car about a year ago definitely needs work i need to put a floor in it but starts on a dime I was wondering if you've ever ran into the gas gauge not displaying how much is in it scaring me from driving it on the street lol.

    • @Feral80sKid
      @Feral80sKid  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much :) I actually did have a white 280zx 82 turbo years ago, a project car, digital dash and the gas guage was....you might say misleading lol. I would start by replacing your sending unit assembly, you can access it under your rear hatch carpet area, while you are in there clean out the inside of your tank best you can, or drop tank and have it professionally cleaned and re-sealed. They are great cars but can be troublesome :/

    I owned my first 280ZX 2 + 2 in high school.
    my father traded it for a Celica, without my consent.
    I owned my second 280ZX Turbo in my 20s.
    my mother forced me to sell it to buy a sedan.
    parents, I tell ya.

      Yeah that'd upset me too if my parents did that, sorry to hear it. Very cool car to have in high school though, and love the turbo too! I have an older video on here with a red 83 280zx turbo you'd like, so should've kept it :/

    How can I seatch a similar steering wheel or the same? I love the look of the logo and the much nicer build

    • @Feral80sKid
      @Feral80sKid  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That wheel was a Villante Super Legerra my friend, found it on Ebay, they have hubs too that'll let you mount it, sorry it took so long to respond, TH-cam doesn't always notify me, and thanks:) I really liked it too, they're hand made here in the US, kind of expensive but worth it IMO.

      Nah, not in my opinion if you aren't tracking her. Definitely get the larger swaybars though with Eibach springs, you'll love it. I just did the braces since it has t-tops, less flex peace of mind I guess.
