      It's all good, we all start somewhere bud. Lots of options for it as far as looks, ground effects, GT hood scoop, spoiler etc.. The Flowmaster dual exhaust sounds pretty good too on the V6, they used to make a Supercharger kit for these as well, wouldn't do that though if your 04 has high miles. Hope that helps

    That's the car, that's the exact car I saw when I was 11 in 1978 at a Pontiac dealership in the center of the showroom. It was the most beautiful car I'd ever seen up to that time, I remember being transfixed by the color, that electric blue, a Blue Bandit I thought. My dad had a 71 Grand Prix, he was a Pontiac man, and he almost pulled the trigger and traded it in, it was oh so close. That would have been the coolest dad car in the entire world, certainly my neighborhood. But alas it was not meant to be, but I never forgot that moment in time, it looks just as cool today. Matter of fact I saw this exact car in 1/18 scale diecast in the same color for like $17 at Sam's Club and had to have it. It's funny how strong some memories can be, that was a long time ago, but the memory is fresh.

    • @Feral80sKid
      @Feral80sKid 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That's as cool a memory as it gets my friend, truly awesome. The way you described it was exactly what I said, an electric blue I said to dad when we went to test drive the 78 Formula I bought 26 years ago, almost to this day actually, what a coincidence we're talking about this now LOL. I fell in love with the color instantly, found that car in the old Auto Trader books we used to get, it had 42k miles, black interior, 350 4 speed, with Cragar SST wheels. ($4,100 I paid then) Sure wish we could get one now for that haha. Great comment, really made me smile🤝

    • @robertkees6048
      @robertkees6048 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@Feral80sKid It's interesting, your video triggered a little bit more of the memory for me. I said that 1/18 model is the same, but it's not, the model has a black interior. That didn't mean much to me till I saw the blue interior in your car and I realized the one I saw that day had the blue interior, I'm sure of it. I hadn't occurred to me until I saw yours and it was like a little missing piece to the memory regained. It was all blue, the blueyist blue car I done ever seen. In the end I can't complain, that 71 Grand Prix was a very nice "personal luxury" car, small block 400. Interestingly that GPrix had a feature I've never seen in another GPrix ever, and that is your steering wheel. It had the Leather tilt Rally Steering wheel same as the Trans Am. That steering wheel made that Grand Prix I'm telling you. It couldn't have been an option or you'd see them, but I've never seen another. My theory is thus; the guy that owned the Pontiac dealership (where I saw your car) was a friend of my dads and my dad bought the car from him. I have to assume as the owner of a dealership he got a new car every year and customized it any way he wanted. An owner would be just the person that could have them install that steering wheel into his car, cause my dad bought it as is. That Trans Am steering wheel is still completely bad ass, they need to bring them back, F a bunch of air bags, screw safety. Wait what, no not that. lol. Damn sorry for the run on trip down memory lane. Cars, I love those damn things. Cheers.

Actually selling this because I found a good deal on a 2024 Camaro, last year for those, bummer :/ Typically the 700R4 seems to last a lot longer before needing a rebuild though. Whichever you choose, find a good transmission shop and have them install you a TransGo shift kit, it'll last a long time, shouldn't be more than $300 for parts/labor, shifts quick but ultra smooth under normal driving, hard and quick under full throttle, you'll love it, a bit more hp to the wheels as well👌

    I feel like this stingray and the grand sport are the best for city driving with the manual. That 450 HP to me is perfect, it's still a powerful car that you can still get some good engagement in a manual on. The manual Z06 and ZR1 have crazy next level power that for city driving the gears have to be very tall, it's got to be harder to enjoy that manual transmission if you rarely need to get beyond 2nd gear in the city (lol).

She actually had a beige Monte Carlo before that. But, the IRock got stolen out of her driveway twice. So, she settled for a 91 2 door Buick Regal. It was actually nice. It had the clear taillights. I'm glad you mentioned the bushings on the sway bar. I noticed in my 02, especially when it's hot (all the time lately), I noticed a lot of creaking, and apparently that's pretty common in those and maybe just needs some lubrication (fingers crossed). The car has hardly been driven, so who knows... but definitely something I'm going to look at. Driver side window goes down but only goes up intermittently. SO not sure if that's a bad switch... wiring... fuse... motor (hope not) lol... I think it's going in next week for a bit of a lookover.

Only has 4k miles after 2years and some other things that is having me get rid of it. It was a fun car but I am excited to get the GR. Hi Brian, love your car and color, mine is similarly equipped, same axle ratio, low miles but Bright Red. I hope you can help me with an issue with coolant temps, if you have the C68 automatic environment controls. Are you familiar with viewing the digital water temp on the air conditioning digital readout? If so can you tell me what temp yours indicates when fully cold, before you start the engine? Mine indicates 40F above ambiant before starting and continues to indicate +40F as it warms and reaches operating temp. The readout is in centigrade(119) but the conversion is 246F, which I know is really around 210F (confirmed with infrared thermometer). Thanks

      Nice, factory kicks them in way too high (about 230ish) for my taste, regardless if some say they are meant to run at that temp., I turn on my defrost or AC at 210, most I like to see. May burn out your fans keeping them running at all times but PCM of North Carolina will make you a custom chip for about $80, you can tell them what idle rpm you want, vats bypass, fan on/off temps etc., it's a good option. But worst case is those fan motors are easy to replace and cheap, beats doing a head gasket or worse.
