"They ended up blowing it up as well so...." Not really, this game takes place 3000ish years before the movies, this is the wars between the Sith Empire and the Galactic Republic. The movies show the fall of the Galactic Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. The game is still running, it is free to play up to level 50 or 60, to go further you need to subscribe for at least one month, though IMO the subscription is worth it to keep paying as long as you can afford to. It is an MMORPG that can be fully enjoyed as a single player, you can choose between Galactic Republic or Sith Empire, you choose from four classes on each side, in the Republic - Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Smuggler and Trooper, in the Empire - Sith Marauder, Sith Inquisitor, Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent, each class has subclasses as well, and each class has it's own unique storyline that sometimes intersects with other class storylines, it isn't until you get to the Knights of the Eternal Throne expansion that all classes are running the same storyline, fighting the Eternal Empire, but being different classes you do still have some different choices in the story, the game also remembers what you did in the past, so depending on your history with NPCs you'll get different reactions/responses from them.
It's always nice to see a new fan's reaction, I've been a fan of SW for many years and personally as I tell all fans I have my own canon, what disney does is a total mistake SW is more than movies :) if you're curious you should play Kotor 1 2 and Swtor my favorite games Revan and Kreia my favorite power users who are not blind like yoda , and last thing about Disorder trailer , Funny when malgus tells the truth but some star wars fans are so indoctrinated about jedi perfection that they say he is lying and manipulative :D but he just helped her out of the "cage" instead of killing her
I'd recommend star wars kotor instead of the old republic. but man those trailers were lit af it convinced me that it was a new star wars movie as a kid
