This is dope! I can't wait until VR sets like these are commercially available and cheap to buy like a normal games console. Right now they're kinda too pricey for the average person. This is an example of our complete system (which includes a Pico headset) being used with a third-party headset and a PCVR game, but we'll surely have open-world, fantasy-style games on our own store, with no need for a PC.

how is the platform compared to the old one? i guess it gives way more freedom with on one arm in the back. but what about walking? is it still hard tu push? the other version was like hard to walk, idk which youtuber said it that is not exactly walking is little bit diferent and you have to get used to it, or is like walking a little bit in sand or something, is it more slippery this time or closer to "real" walking?
I find that it's like walking on soft ground. It isn't too slippery, and you shouldn't have to push your feet back - just transfer your weight to each foot as you stride, as in real life. While the feeling of walking isn't quite the same, it is close enough to enhance immersion, compared to using a gamepad. It's a fun way to engage your whole body in VR and burn calories without realizing it.
for only 2500 you can have your very own vr treadmill that you were supposed to have the the first virtuix omni but they decide to sell to commercial only for a much higher price than retail and you even get their own VR headset that you didn't ask for!

Does this actually make you feel like you're walking around or do you feel like you're stuck to something while you're running in place? I ordered the Kat Walk C2 and I wasn't impressed. 4 out of 10 to be completely honest. It was expensive, pretty noisy, took a long ass time to be delivered, a complete pain in the ass to set up, and the shoes were so noisy that I just ran in place on the damn thing which worked better for some reason. I bring the Krap Walk c2 up because that and this look pretty much the same and if I were to buy this, it'd turn out the same.
There are differences in the design. I haven't tried the treadmill you mention, but as an example, Omni One is very easy to put together - aside from the cables, it's just three parts (the step, the arm, and the vest) that need to be connected to the base, no tools needed.

Omni One comes with its own headset - currently, the Pico Neo 3 Pro. It can also be used to play PCVR games with other PCVR headsets, when emulation software is used.

Omni Online is an optional service for online gameplay with the games on our store only, and is not needed for using a PC-based headset and SteamVR, or for playing our games offline.
Omni One is a complete entertainment system with a bundled VR headset and custom software for a console-like user experience - we won't be offering a version without the headset. We will have other games besides shooters, and there will be experiences besides games, so even non-gamers can benefit from the headset.
Keyboard movement tends to set the speed on the high side, and you likely wouldn't want to travel that fast in the game. Also with turning, you tend not to turn as quickly in real life as you do with a mouse.

The player doesn't seem to be able to run, it should be a vest, which would also vibrate when hit and the mechanical arm should be "pineumatic or hydraulic" so that when he jumps, the jump would be higher and he would only touch the ground when the avatar touched it. on the floor too. I had a Kat VR. C2+ To be honest, as cool these looks like, that shit is it. You have to pull your self in the ground forward, it feels not walking at all. Not to mention after 10-15 minutes the strap start to hurt, you start to sweating as hell. Reversing is just terrible, you can't enjoy the game because you have to concentrate on how you walk and cleaning the constant fog and sweat from your screen and face. You can't stop when you want....it sliding a few more steps. For me it was a huge disappointment, hopefully I sold it within a few weeks. This is not a KAT VR but very similar tech. I will waiting for a more developed version of these where you really walk and the treadmill moving below you.

The only thing that could make this better is if the average person could afford it. You alienated a huge part of your audience with the price tag.
We had hoped to offer Omni One at a lower price tag, but production costs are higher now than they were a few years ago. Although we want to make Omni One as accessible as possible, we can’t allow ourselves to compromise on quality in order to do so. Please note that we intend to offer a payment plan option sometime after launch, which will be around $65 a month.
This assumes the average person is even interested in VR at this point, which they aren't. VR is still in the enthusiast category. Enthusiasts are hardly ever alienated by high price tags lol.

We’ve had some influencers try out Omni One recently, including Zelushi and Nathie, so you can see novice users having fun with Omni One. You don’t need a lot of experience with VR treadmills to have a great time, and it doesn’t matter what you look like if you’re enjoying it.

A content creator is not the same as an actor. Not every customer wants to publish gameplay videos on TH-cam - making quality content means investing in a camera and lighting equipment, and then spending time editing videos, time that could be spent playing more games or doing other things, like commenting on people’s TH-cam videos! Once we are shipping in larger volumes, you’ll see more videos from people who are just sharing their gameplay.
