  • 3 Reasons Why Sacramento Will Run The West Next Season
    The First Reason why the Kings could be a top 5 team in the west next season is because of the fit of DeMar DeRozan
    With the ongoing arms race in the western conference the Kings were slipping behind the curve. From making the post season in 2023 and if it wasn’t for a 50-point masterclass from Stephen Curry they probably win that series to now missing the playoffs completely along with the improvement that other west contenders have made the Kings had to make a move to stay relevant.

    DeMar's best team he has ever played on while still being healthy and putting up 20+ pts last year and being an overall better rebounder and playmaker than HB...yeah Kings gonna be good. They lost 10 games by 5 or less points last year, DeMar changes that and its hilarious that people are hating on this trade for "fit." They just don't see the vision yet because they actually haven't watched Kings basketball since the 1st round playoffs two years ago lol

    I think the bit at 6:25 is glossed over too much by people who weren't paying attention to the kings. The kings were trying to focus on defense more all season, it just wasn't going great until Ellis joined the starting lineup. But now they know that's the best lineup for improved defense. I'm pretty sure the plan for the entire season was to try to maintain what they could with the offense they established and switch to catching up on defense, and it just took most of the season for us to figure it out. I don't think many kings fans expect Monk to start over Ellis, he's too good of a six man and not very good on defense, and they should probably offload Heurter for a wing tbh but he would be nice off the bench.
    So Fox, Ellis, Derozan, Murray, Sabonis would just be an offensively improved version of that good defensive rating lineup, holding opponents to lower scores while now being able to consistently outscore them, especially with Monk and Heurter back to healthy as firepower off the bench. At least I think that's the plan.

      Impossible. The west is too stacked. Adding Derozan won’t make a play in team a legit contender.

  • @eQNoxious
    @eQNoxious หลายเดือนก่อน +17

    When Fox was injured and Keegan Murray tried to be the point scorer it showed the Kings lacked a true go to scorer or at the very least someone who can create their own shot. Murray can go back to 3 and D and lighting it up when he catches fire but playing comfortably within his pace.
    Fox needs to focus on defense as well as offence due to the sheer number of talented guards in the West. Bringing a bonafide scorer will ease the offensive load and create easier buckets for the rest of the team. Sabonis is great at scrapping rebounds so getting a scorer like Derozan who goes 1on1 against his defender and forces help to rotate should see Sabonis have another great rebounding season and easy 2nd chance points. Midrange rebounds are also easier to scrap than long 3s.
    This trade is a huge upgrade and if the Kings stay healthy and go back to playing their fast tempo offence they are top 4 in the West.

  • @thatstheway2429
    @thatstheway2429 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    #1: Because he improves an offense that ... isn't really the team's problem.
    #2: Because their defense that was barely average last year is going to ... stay that way or get better by replacing a good defender with a bad one. And without replacing the dude (Sabonis) who very nakedly places a low ceiling on this.
    #3: Because Fox is going to be better ... in a year where he'll be spending a heckuva lot more time deferring ... to a 35-year old who doesn't space the floor.

    • @chillen9109
      @chillen9109 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      #1: kings offense would often stagnate when monk/fox aren’t playmaking well or hitting their shots. derozan is a bucket getter and playmaker so he’s a release valve for when fox/monk aren’t cooking
      #2: kings defense got much better once they took off kevin huerter for keon ellis in the second half of the season. bc of that keon ellis will probably start the next season w monk still being 6th man. harrison barnes was invisible on both sides of the floor so derozan replacing him isn’t that much of a difference on the defensive
      #3: fox isn’t gonna defer to derozan all the time when it’s his team lol. and it’s not like derozan is left wide open from 3, defenders still gotta stay within range of him or else he’s a threat to pull up from 2/attack the basket

      They had winning records against a TON of great teams last year even though they were injury plagued. Fox is actually that good, same with Sabonis, the issue is they didn't have ANY help once Monk went down. Keegan can't create on his own, along with everyone else on the roster.
      This season with Fox, Derozan, monk, they're gonna have so many ways to attack on offense. Then lets not forget about Sabonis, he's still a tank that can bully his way to nearly 20 PPG. All while averagin the most rebounds in the league and a bunch of assists. The best part about this is how many options Sabonis will have to pass to.
      Also going to create a ton of open looks for Keegan to shred from the 3 pt line. Ppl really sleeping on this team. Good luck defending this lineup.

      Wrong, Fox shot 37% last year, you have Keegan, you have Trey lyles, Monk, even Keon Ellis shot 42% last season from 3. They have shooters. What they lacked before was a much needed extra shot creator that can get the ball and get a bucket if the three's arent dropping.
