One speaks to the choir because literate people will not listen to you. Your God is of incompetence. Jesus fails to complete the job for 2000 years. The Jews still don't buy your Messiah story. J Atwill has proven Jesus is a complete fabrication by Romans, not Christians or Jews. Moses, the war-criminal, proves only; God & faith makes the worst navigator in the world. And Jesus is the ultimate hypocrite by performing all sorts of signs and saying the only one given is Jonah, who was a believer tossed overboard by other believers to calm a storm. The Christian Faith is ludicrous & has no future because of itself.

@Bob-oe1nv There is a fine line between fishing & standing on the shore, looking like an idiot.
Fail to get the Jews to buy it for 2000 years & they should know who their Messiah is. Jesus is a fake, to immortalize the war against the Jews. Jesus Christ is crucified for all time in literature & the subjects of Rome are illiterate. Freud wrote, "The antidote to Christianity is literacy" & the joke is in the scriptures.

I discovered Christ in 1965 when I was at Ft Jackson Army base preparing to be shipped off to a war. During the entire 16 weeks of very intense training we were only allowed to go into town on one day, and on a Sunday. I don't recall where I was exactly but I think it was like an outdoor market and walked past an open booth with a display of some kind. For some unknown reason I was drawn toward an area with a display of used books and noticed a small pamphlet that was labeled "Have you considered him?" written by Wilbur Smith, I never would have picked up anything like that, let alone read through it countless time, that little publication completely changed my life in every way possible, I'm convinced it saved my life. I have tried to get a copy of that booklet for sentimental purposes but found it to be out of print.

The student reminds me of myself when I was in undergrad. Trying to think of everything at once, asking every question that I could think of, trying to solve every issue my mind would come up with. It was almost debilitating. But at some point you have to put your hyperskepticism aside. No, this does not mean you stop asking questions or following the evidence. It means you’re putting your paranoia and ego aside for a moment to earnestly consider the fact that you may be wrong.

Also, I just tend to prefer looking through comments on videos but sure I will watch through the video since you requested.
I don't really follow through with it though because I wouldn't be making the same arguments as this student, and so I don't really have much to say about the guy's arguments himself since it seems specific to that individual.
But, there were a few arguments he made that I didn't get. For instance, his point about how you need to understand God correctly, using the girl as an example. I disagree, because it isn't as clear. That girl is physically there in person, talking. God, meanwhile (if real, which the assumption of this video is) in reality different religions say God or gods did different things. They are contradictory, because they have supposedly all had supernatural experiences with God. So, the analogy with the girl is if five different versions of her came up to Cliffe at once all saying they had different names and were the correct one.
The guy he's responding to is infuriating me. That comment he made about women of colour made me cringe. Unbelievers of Christianity don't all think the same, so don't assume we all have the same logic or understanding of things.
I do at the same time disagree with Cliffe though. It is likewise an assumption that women of colour believe Christianity to be true because it is actually spiritually profound and that there was no history of colonialism. Many different factors can be involved

@@Daily_Dose_Of_Wisdom We love you Brandon as well as Cliffe and Stuart Knechtle. Jesus The Christ of Nazareth is clearly stated to be God Almighty manifest in flesh in The Gospels especially The Gospel of John . I've been watching Cliffe Knechtle's videos since late 2020 which inspired me to do Christian Apologetics these past 4 years. I was raised Christian but I became an agnostic and atheist at 17-19 years old until I started studying religious beliefs, Christianity and Apologetics Happy Pentecost week brothers, sisters and everyone else He's Alive forevermore AMEN 🙏 ❤️ 👏. This has nothing and everything to do with the video but please listen if you want to otherwise leave it alone and ignore it. Hello my name is Justin and I'm a fellow Christian and Apologist but I'm also a college graduate. I'm not a closed minded Theist as I have nothing against Atheists or unbelievers as I speak to them often to understand their reasons for unbelief but we as Christians are convinced of God's Existence due to many real factors). I'm not trying to convert anyone or convince anyone to become Christians as that's The Holy Spirit's job to help people believe but only explain why I believe in Jesus Christ. There's actually evidence of God's Existence in Christianity. First of all there's proof that Jesus of Nazareth existed in history since the writings of Tacitus, Josephus Flavius, Pliny the younger and other historical documents prove that He was living two thousand years ago that even scholars both religious and Atheists agree with historically speaking but not that He's The Divine Son of God because obviously they don't.
I'm going to give you historical and archeological evidence for God's Existence as The Scriptures have prophecies that predate the events recorded in them by several millennia including Matthew, Hosea and Zechariah which prophesy accurately of the people of Israel becoming a nation again after over 1900 years of being scattered around the nations since the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 A.D. spoken of by Christ in Matthew 23:29-24:3 and returning to their homeland after The Holocaust with Jerusalem as their capital in 1948 exactly as Jesus The Christ said. The prophets including Daniel spoke of the time where several world empires would arise and fall including the Babylonian kingdom, Medes and Persians, Roman Empire, and Saladin and the Muslims which went in consecutive order for the past few millennia. The people of Israel becoming a nation after The Holocaust in 1948 (ironically the melting point of gold as God compares Israel to gold that's tested in fire in Zechariah 13:8 and Jeremiah 16:15) exactly how Jesus The Christ said would happen since God us everything to come in The Scriptures and not just because people were working towards as Atheists claim which are impossible for any regular man to predict.
Just before anyone says Christianity is a white man's religion made to oppress blacks during slavery you obviously aren't aware that the first Christians were Jews in The Middle East and that Christianity just like any religion can be used by evil and corrupt people to oppress others but you forget that the first Abolitionists/Civil Rights activists were Christians who sought to abolish slavery, racism, segregation, injustice and prejudice throughout American history. Jesus The Christ loves you enough not to give you what we all deserve which is God's Wrath by His Own Blood. Charles Darwin didn't originally come up with The Theory of Evolution over 200 years ago as it is mentioned in the writings of Ancient Greeks who believed in Demons that gave knowledge to philosophers.
Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years
ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word.
Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. It’s like ‘how could they think I’M the one that’s brainwashed?? They haven’t thought this through at all and they’re acting like they’re smarter than me! 😤’
But at the end when you summarized “his problem is he doesn’t believe the God of the Bible is good,” I realized my irritation at his pride was only coming from my own sense of pride. It had blinded me to his heart.
This is something I’m hoping the Spirit will work out within me. I love feeling like the smartest person in the room. How can I become the most loving person in the room instead?

Realize the vanity of being the smartest person in the room. Even if we get past the fact that there’s always someone who is going to be smarter than you, by the wisdom of Ecclesiastes, know the limits of knowledge and wisdom. I believe that should help pop the bubble of ego. 😅
Once you get out of the mindset of trying to be the highest, you can then let Jesus raise you when you are low. And the knowledge you know isn’t kept to be smarter than your opponents but to properly teach them. 😊

The way I see it, the reason so many cultures have practices that share similarities with Christiany is because God has been trying to speak to them throughout time as well. I love that a passionate man is doing his best to reach the unbelievers. That boy wants to find Jesus, I can see it. He just needs more inspired guidance. It took me 51 years of constantly seeking the Lord before He found me. It took laying down all of my doubts and saying yes to Him. And I will work out my questions about Jesus by talking to Him now instead of just being lost and confused.

Hi Brandon, I want to say that I absolutely love your channel and it's helped me to be able to defend my faith in God with Muslims and atheists.
One of the questions I had for Cliffe and Stuart was about the Trinity. Sorry in advance for the long question! I want to make sure I cover most of the big points.
One of the most common scriptures used as evidence is John 8:58, "Before Abraham was, I am". However, this was actually a mistranslation.
In John 8:58, since Jesus' existence is not completed past action, but ongoing, we must use some sort of imperfect verbal form to convey that: "I have been (since) before Abraham came to be."
I am taking a quote from the book "Truth in translation" by Jason Debuhn, a professor and theologian at Northern Arizona University. "On the matter of word order, normal English follows the structure we all learned in elementary school: subject + verb + object or predicate phrase. The order of the Greek in John 8:58 is predicate phrase + subject + verb. So, it is the most basic step of translation to move the predicate phrase "before Abraham came to be" (prin Abraam genesthai) from the beginning of the sentence to the end, after the subject and verb. Just as we do not say 'John I am' or 'Hungry I am" or "First in line I am," so it is not proper English to say "Before Abraham came to be I am.' In John 8:58, since Jesus' existence is not completed past action, but ongoing, we must use some sort of imperfect verbal form to convey that: "I have been (since) before Abraham came to be." "
John 8:58, since Jesus' existence is not completed past action, but ongoing, we must use some sort of imperfect verbal form to convey that: "I have been (since) before Abraham came to be." So, the New World Translation and the Living bible are actually the most accurate.
NW (New World): Before Abraham came into existence, I have been.
LB (Living Bible): I was in existence before Abraham was ever born.
I would recommend you read the "Truth in Translation" book but specifically chapter 10 because Jason Debuhn explains this a lot better than I do.
Also for John 1:1, which is another common verse used to prove the Trinity, if you look at the Greek translation of this verse, there is no definite article in front of the second God, and Greek has no indefinite article, so therefore "the Word was a God" is the more accurate way to translate this this verse and it also agrees with the context.
    Thank you!

I watched a lot of Cliffe videos on YT and i think it's one of the best content here, especially the old ones where students are siting around him and listening to his answers.
Maybe he already answered this in one of such videos, but if there is a chance - i would love to hear Cliffe thoughts about the following: if someone who is a follower of Christ have a very very important person in his life, but this person is not a follower of Christ and potentially destined to spend eternity separate from God and therefore separate from that someone - then how it can be a Heaven if you miss someone who were very important to you?
Of course i anticipate the famous 4-point short answer from Cliffe: "I. Do. Not. Know." if Scripture if not answering this directly, but hoping for something that Cliffe himself thinks about this.

I live the scenario you laid out. I live out my Christian life every day, and pray for them everyday.
I've struggled mightily with the question you've raised.
What I come to realise is, and that I cant force a single person to love God. I can't force them to seek Him if they don't want to. It would be completely unloving of me to force someone to love and follow God. Truly loving someone is an act of utter free will.
And then it dawned on me that God too, will not force a person to love Him. In his love, He appears passive and silent to the unbeliever who questions why God isn't forcefully making Himself known to them. Is it an act of love if someone forces themselves on you?
God will honor our sovreign request to stay outside of His presence forever if that is our desire. For Him to not do so, would both contradict our sovereign will and cause God to be unjust and unloving by forcing Himself on you.
Edit: To answer your question, heaven is a place for those who have chosen to love God and follow Him. That is one of the things that makes a person 'good'. On the other side of this life, all will see who had chosen to love God, to know Him and follow Him. It is presumptous with no evidence to think that we will feel sadness if earthly loved ones are not with us. Being perfected before entering heaven means perfecting our love and focus on our relationship with God. Our true family is and will be those who truly love our saviour Jesus Christ.

I was very depressed while stressing all day over a loved one who recently passed. That night i had a rapture dream. My rapture dream started with seeing a crowd of lgbtq outside in the street. I looked up over them and saw a light purple glow in the sky, from the top of my view. I looked up and seen jesus on a low flat and dark grey cloud . The sky was foggy and it looked like it was right after the sunsets, when it becomes darker . He was glowing light purple. I threw my hands up and went up over a building with no feeling at all of the ride up. I looked towards jesus when i was floating up and reached the elevation of jesus i noticed he dress like a old king in white and blood red. He looked Iike a living spirit of a human. I then woke up with a racing heart . When i first seen the purple glow in the sky of jesus , i was confused for a second because i thought i was living in a star wars game. It was the most realistic dream ive ever had in my life.

I agree exactly with how you wrap up the video! Everything is viewed through the optics of ethical judgement. As Peterson says, we have no choice but to view reality at the fundamental level of good and bad (evil). There are an infinite number of facts to discern and those facts if based on the natural world are not of God and by definition: not good. Or, conversely, God is everything that is bad because he is not of this world so how can he be good? Ultimately, we perceive reality through this type of lens because, otherwise, we’d be stuck in one position. Even a computer program needs to posit an objective to carry out a function. Nothing can just exist as a pure fact of being. Directionality is an essential aspect of creation itself.
Remember in Genesis? After God created something, he deemed it was good. Because it was of him. Anything of Him is by definition good, yet if you think things are of the world then by definition its bad because its not of god. Its a tricky balancing act to get this right. There’s a pit on both sides.
    Praise the Lord, Jesus Christ

Those fine gentlemen are a good positive case for Jesus.
You need to also understand the negative cases for other religions. The short answer is that all religions must obey their own internal logic. Incoherence is a sign of falsehood.
Using that tool, you'll see unresolveable flaws in other relgions:
      1) In the Quran, Allah says the Bible is reliable and uncorrupt. In the Bible, Jesus says he is the son of God. Allah says none are his children, and everyone must approach him as a slave. Unresolveable to the honest person. (Sam Shamoun)
      2) Hinduism/Buddhism - say the world is an illusion. Couldn't that view itself be an illusion? This is a self refuting claim.
      3) Scientism - the view that all beliefs must have scientific evidence. So, what is the scientific evidence for why the laws of logic exist, or the Uniformitarian Principle? Scientism itself is a system that involves unscientific faith claims. (Jay Dyer)

It's a supernatural/spiritual resistance, too. I've been a convert to Christianity for years now, but I keep struggling with drifting away and falling back into sin and focus on certain worldly things... and to be honest with you, I don't desire to do this. I desire very much to follow Christ and grow in the Spirit... but there is this invisible force attempting to suffocate that desire. If I was uncertain about my faith that Christ is Lord, I would become completely lost and I would be destroyed by that.
Imagine the uncertainty of disbelief. They don't have that anchor of a reliable faith. They are blown around by this invisible spiritual force of darkness, ignorance, sleep, and death... and therefore the ships they build (metaphorically) to navigate through life are designed with that chaotic sea of confusion as its foundation. Not only is true faith hard to pin down because of that constant chaotic churning of an unredeemed soul, but the prospect of abandoning the ship they are on to walk on the chaotic sea with Christ is deathly frightening to them. It threatens their perceived survival. The devil is putting a gun to your head, so to speak. Either disbelieve, or you're going to die. Christ crucified is not only a symbol of the sufferings of God on the cross, but it can also be seen as a warning of sorts. This is will be you if you choose to believe.
It's a very powerful spiritual ultimatum. More moving than even the death of a loved one. It's very hard to truly come to Faith, especially in this day and age. Even if you really desire it, and even if you're working hard to pursue it... you have to admit it is very hard. It's like the prospect of walking on water. It just doesn't seem possible given the conventional perception of reality.
A perception is a state of mind, and a state of mind is a spiritual thing... and our perception today, at possibly more than any time in history, is so spiritually warped and muddled that if given the option to drink poison or water, poison will win out almost every time. We just don't see water as water anymore. We see water as poison and poison as water. Even as believers, we have to constantly remind ourselves that water is the life sustaining substance, not poison.
It has been a great source of frustration and sorrow for me. I don't know how anybody truly believes. It's a supernatural thing, and it goes against every immediate impulse we have as fallen creatures in a world ruled by darkness.

You’re in great company brother…. Most everyone that Jesus used to write the books of the Bible struggled with the same. You are essentially echoing Paul (almost verbatim).
If I’ve learned anything, it’s that drawing close to Jesus is the only thing that defeats sin. Next time you’re tempted, worship Jesus, instead of attempting to win vs the sin and always ask Jesus for help. None of us can defeat sin on our own.
Just know you are not alone; you’re one of 6+ billion people that have the same struggles. The fact that you acknowledge and repent is awesome. God bless.

That was so beautifully stated. If you aren't a writer, I would encourage you to start. I sympathize with you as I go through the exact same thing. I ran from Jesus for years. I knew Him to be God and my Savior but rejected Him as my Lord because I didn't want to submit to Him. I didn't know Him therefore I didn't trust Him. It honestly took the Holy Spirit softening my heart to Jesus to get me to step out on faith and proclaim Him as my Lord. If I could have one wish it would be for us all to have that supernatural gift of Faith. It's so incredibly powerful and life-saving. May God bless you and keep you my brother!

@@dahliaherrod4301 Thanks! Yeah I don't really write well unless I'm responding to someone. At least, it's far more inspiring than writing from scratch.
I don't have words at the moment to describe how I came to this point. It's too much. I have seen things I never would have believed in this world. Sometimes, there's so much bad news that it's hard to remember the good news, though.
We have an absolute deluge of evil out in the open now. You cannot throw a stone more than ten feet without it hitting a witch or a Satanist... and that's not even counting people who occasionally check their astrology or go to a fortune teller. That's actively practicing witches and satanists.
Yet people still have their eyes closed. They're drowning in a world flood of satanism and witchcraft and they still say it's not raining. They still think you're crazy or a bigot when you speak about it.
Bit of a tangent... but it's a major major problem. Along with struggling with sin, it's the other bane of my existence.

Great video! I have a question or two...
I was fortunate enough to have Cliff speak at my campus UT Austin and I was a part of the student group that invited him to come!
    1. I'm a believer and I'd be interested in what Cliff would say on Old Earth Creationism vs Young Earth Creationism. I believe GOD could easily accomplish either or and that the truth of the resurrection overcomes any doubt I have in this area. I would just be curious as to which Cliff would say has the strongest evidence. I have heard the translation of "day" has four meanings and one is a general length of time, which could give room for Old Earth idea. Also 2 Peter 3:8.
    2. This also leads into the topic of dinosaurs. Can dinosaurs, modern dating systems, and a young Earth view all agree? Again, the truth of the resurrection overcomes any doubt I have in this area as well.
I bring these topics up so I myself can have a better understanding of how they are reconciled to the truth of the Gospel
    Thank you! 🙏

6:56 He is correct in stating that history cannot be repeated verbatim, but we can scrutinize historical accounts by examining prior occurrences to gauge their plausibility. For instance, consider a story recounted by my great grandfather's father in his diaries, claiming to have witnessed a unicorn and a dragon engaged in combat while running through the forest. Although this specific event can never recur, we can analyze its elements to assess its likelihood.
Firstly, it was a firsthand account documented by him, thus establishing credibility. The forest in question is a tangible place with a known existence, and given his penchant for traversing it, his presence there is plausible. Furthermore, animal encounters, including fights, are not uncommon in forests. However, the extraordinary elements, unicorns and dragons, lack supporting evidence in our understanding of the natural world. While it's conceivable that these creatures were exceptionally rare or uniquely concealed, our prior knowledge makes such an event highly improbable.
Similarly, when examining the story of Jesus, most debates center not on mundane aspects but on the divine claims. Demonstrating the occurrence of divine events would significantly bolster the credibility of the narrative.

You hit on a major point that I think most have trouble accurately sharing with apologists. To accept Jesus Christ is God, one would have to believe that He actually completed the miracles outlined in the Bible. How do you get to that point?
I think one line of reasoning we can discuss is that most of the miracles reported to be done by Jesus in the Bible were done in a crowd of several people. Jesus' name was famous-sometimes infamous depending on the telling- by people who witnessed these miracles and shared the tale with others. Writers like Luke would have had to investigate all of these people to determine if their stories match with one another to confirm if the miracles are credible.
Furthermore, the apostles, recipients of several miracles and witnesses were alive during the early church period and could have debunked any false testimony about Jesus which did happen and is the reason there are a few testimonies which didn't make it into the Bible. None of this stuff happened in a vacuum. For example, American sniper Chris Kyle wrote a book about his time in the military. People who were witnesses of the events came out to debunk his book as inaccurate. If events aren't factual, trust that there will always be people who will speak up to say so.

@@displacegamer1379 My apologies for the long delay. I don't have citations for my thoughts as these are original thoughts I've pondered for a while now based on info I've gathered and just a basic understanding of human psychology.
To clarify, an investigative report would require the investigator to speak with as many eye-witnesses as possible and compare statements to determine if the claim is accurate and legitimate.
Furthermore, it's my understanding that there were several gospels written after Jesus' death but the apostles who personally knew Jesus were able to debunk the ones which weren't accurate. There's nothing supernatural in it. Just SOP for any historical claim though I don't know any other historical figure who's gotten as much investigation into his life as Jesus. I hope that answers your requests.

If you can't cite how you came to this understanding through any meaningful source, then all I can do is take it as you are just making this up. Right now, I have no reason to believe anything you just said is true. The fact that you can't even cite a single source after all this time only goes to support my belief that you are just making it up.
