- Hi All,
Here's a quick video showing a different way to use the Club steering wheel lock to prevent vehicle theft.

@DriventoGo
Three times someone has tried to steal my 69 swb truck FROM MY OWN DRIVEWAY! The driveway is almost besides my bedroom window! These people aren't afraid of getting shot. I got me a club and also turned the keyhole toward the dash. No more issues. I hope.......and pray!
Oh that's awful! I'm glad that they did not succeed with stealing your truck! Here's to the club working for you!
Might just have to take them out to send a message
@@Sabrinajeromej The tweakers who steal sh*t despite the risk won't get this message. There's just gonna be fewer of them, lol.
I just bought one of these today. Thanks for the tip on turning the keyhole away from you.
Awesome! Happy to help!
Most thieves won’t bother and move on to the next car.
I agree.
agree
Fr even this guy said it

Manuel transmission would help against the newer generations.
@@Patriotic327 most people can drive manual so that won't help at all
That was very ingenious. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. It was very useful and informative.
Yes ! Great video thank you. My vehicle is parked outside as well. So I just remove the fuel pump fuse every night. It worked wonders as well.
You're welcome! I'm glad it helped!
Pulling the fuse pump fuse is a great idea as well!
Great tip! Another suggestion is getting one with a combo code instead of a key.
I haven't heard of them having combination locks but I'll definitely look into it! Thank you for the suggestion, Kesha!
@@driventogo7734 you're welcome! Here's the one I am talking about: th-cam.com/video/wl-KOSHuomI/w-d-xo.html; Just ordered one for my mom from Amazon...I'd read a lot of reviews of keys getting jammed or lost on the other ones, in addition to the possibility of the lock being picked, so I figured this one may be more efficient.
Awesome! I'll check it out! Thank you!
@@keshahamilton8426 thank you!
Thanks for this. I never thought of that. It would be a time killer and a deterant to defeat it backward.
Great vid. I was wondering about this idea and it works so much better
Glad it helped!
That is a smart way to go! Before I got a Club I used a length of chain steering column through steering wheel with big lock in middle of wheel. That works too, either one usually has the thieve move on to other prey.
That's a great idea, too!
ABUS sells a massive bike chain and Lock you could do that with. I got one of the ABUS chains and it weighs over 10LBs, with the lock weighing about 1.5LBs.
Backwards is great! Thanks for the tip! 🎉
Great idea !
I hope that it works great for you!
Thank you.
Good video, that’s the only secure way to attach a steering club.
I totally agree!
Hey my club doesn't slide in and out like yours does if you slide it out you have to get the key to unlock it to push it back in. Weird.
Yep! That's what I do now!!
Very cool!
Thanks it helps
Glad to hear!
The Cheapest & best deterent is installing a on /off kill switch it can be mounted anywhere under the dash or any other hidden area in vehicle..it will cost about $6.00 plus tax & small labor fee from your shop
That is a great option as well! The steering wheel lock is primarily a visual deterrent that will hopefully convince the would be thief to move on to an "easier target".
I'm waiting on that next video
Another drawback though is that putting it behind the steering wheel leaves your airbag unprotected. I always put THE CLUB diagonally across the front of the steering wheel. Do not put across only the top OR bottom of the steering wheel. It needs to cover the airbag. Thieves will steel airbags.
That's true! I was concerned about the club putting too much weight on the airbag causing the horn to scream that lovely 90s import sound.
Getting an air bag stolen is better than getting one's whole car stolen.. I've been seeing this get drilled out in less than 3 minutes..
Not sure how the club works in that vehicle. Looks like you can turn the steering wheek alnost 360 degreese
They can cut the steering wheel
Very true. However, this will prevent drilling the lock which takes significantly less time.
That Self Locking factory steering wheel can be defeated by grabbing it and yanking on it very forcefully & it will hreak that Locking pin
That is very true as well!
You’ve got more keys than a custodian friend.
🤣 You're right! I feel out of place when I don't have them and I walk in silence.
Thats what I do now.
That's awesome!
That’s how I put mine on. Can’t be drilled out that way.
Smart wife
She is, indeed!
They are stupid. Buy a hedge trimmer snip 1 side of steering wheel bend it back and its off. Tape the steering wheel after it
Just cut the steering wheel, club defeated
"Where there's a will, there's a way."
@@driventogo7734 I think a stop lock is better because you can put the lock on one of the spokes of the steering wheel so they will need to cut very awkwardly to get the lock off, potential have to cut the spoke off which usually houses some electronics and is much harder to cut
That's a great idea as well!
pick or drill out
You are correct. That is a valid concern if you have it installed with the lock facing outward toward the driver.
@@Knggrrggdryhfgall steering wheels can be cut through pretty quickly with a cordless grinder or even a hacksaw. Not much you can do about that.
