Called DS Arms and told them you are great and you are reason that I am buying their product. Had FAL from Century for 25 years but it was like 15 MOA. Lots of fun to shoot. So now I am buying a DS Arms, should I pay for the chrome barrel in the classic design or just go for the Battle rifle?
@@thefalguy9848 thank you for the quick response. What are your thoughts on DSAs current "cold warrior" model at roughly $1500? Range model or a potential do all? FN barrel specs are beyond me.
@@robkilcollins310 it all depends what you are using the rifle for. Obviously they are cheaper models, sacrifices were made in terms of barrels and other parts. If you have the budget, spend a few more dollars on a better model. Will serve you longer and you get a better accuracy and joy out of it.
Have you had any issues with your FAL regarding failure to feed? I have just gotten my FAL back from DS Arms due to it having the wrong extractor and now after going to the range I have to manually cycle the rounds. Of course I had to shoot range approved rounds, Winchester 7.62×51mm 149 gr.
how did that DSA scope work out? they are on sale for $150 now thinking of getting one. is it as good as the primary arms, did it hold zero? did the BDC "dots" work for long distance hits? i called dsa and they couldnt send me any info on this scope...lol
Thanks, I asked dsa and they said it has no BDC. Maybe Robert at Dsa just didn’t know. Have you used any prism scopes from primary arms? How does this compare…as that is my only point of reference.
Just picked up a Range Ready FAL. After watching your earlier videos I’m going to build a Recce FAL as well. Do you run 308win (if so what grain) or just 7.62 NATO?
Interesting concept for sure. The cartridge is pretty sick. But I have not red many reports on the rifle's performance, longevity and such. Maybe it's the good Made-In-China, but usually Gen 1 weapons are not part of that... so time will tell
Nice!!! Looks like a pretty intuitive reticle for what it is. Cheers bru!
Agree. It's very straight forward, not fancy and simple to comprehend. I really enjoy it!
@@thefalguy9848 Right on! I like simple in the field heheh.
Love to see a collab with him and Bloke on the range.
I much prefer the bi-pod cut handguards !
You explained better that the instructions
I use 4x power valdada scope, also factory hensolt 4x German scope
Thank you, great info, looking forward to your long term review.
Thanks. I will keep you updated! Hope to hit 1,000 rds with it on my 21" FAL. And do a lot more long range testing with it

Thank you for your support. If you have the spare change, go for the chrome barrel.
That's what they said. They Have a lot of respect for you. Great channel@@thefalguy9848
Loving this channel. Can you please make a video showing how you did your paint job and what colors you used?
Not planned as of right now. Paint was purchased from Arizona Response System. They have a tutorial on how to paint on their website or YT channel

Great review as always
I appreciate that

At what gas setting are you running your rifle? Did you try closing off your gas system entirely?
I need to zero my older model one

Mine works well. Glass still clear and holds zero without issues! I can highly recommed it for the FAL

I run 7.62x51mm. 150gr. Pretty basic stuff, nothing fancy.
Congrats on your new rifle. 16 or 18in?
@@thefalguy9848 thanks, and I got the 18”. Love your channel and appreciate all the help!
In one of your older videos it looks like you mounted a flashlight to the handguard using the the holes in the topside. How did you do that?
I used a Magpul MOE rail. Screws were long enough to make it through the slots in the handguard.
@@thefalguy9848 Amazing, thank you very much

Optic sets too high for my taste
With the ACOG compatible railed dust cover it can be lowered
