when YS came out, it was the best jet in game. It was shitting onto F-4C's and MiG-21's. Still my most played jet. Strange that I haven't made a comp of it yet
It wasn't the best in the game. The YS came out the same update as the T2 and Mig19S. In terms of pure performance, the 19S was the better plane easily, and even though the T2 was cringe to play, it still had a huge speed and accel advantage which could be leveraged into positioning and carry potential. the YS was perhaps the easiest jet in game, but not the best.
@@dreamtree1510 agree, the YS was a sidegrade to the other top tiers. It felt like a hunter in terms of flight model and speed retention but also didn't have a top end or turn rate to be truly "top tier". Was a very fun and honest plane tho and felt like a sabre buffed to meet the meta of the time
@@gansior4744 Anytime I see someone bring up "circle" terminology regarding air RB I already know they don't know what they're talking about... Having the ability to dictate the terms of the engagement and have control over the flow of the battle is huge in air RB and the T2 had greatly more capability in this area than the YS did. Air RB isn't a 1v1 game-mode which is something many WT players seem to forget.

I think as an alternative to giving those mentioned flare-less planes (F-104A and F-5A) flares outright, allow them to attach a flare pod even if they didn’t historically and move them up in BR. Honestly I wouldn’t even mind the F-104A going up in BR as it is though. You out-run most missiles anyways and can easily make distance between you and anything with missiles like AIM-9Ls.
4:48 Speaking of Sabres we need more. The F-86F-40 for the American tech-tree is the first. It is not as good as the CL-13B Mk.6 in some cases, but would still be a real threat, having the 6-3 wing, the sleek F-fuselage the Aim-9B on pylons, and the leading edge wing slats. The F-86F-30 should almost replace the F-86F-25 since it actually saw combat in Korea. Then the F-86D-20 and F-86D-40, as well as the upgraded F-86G and F-86L, because they are such an overlooked part of the American air force in the early ‘50s. The possibly ultimate would be the F-86H-5 (or H-6), which could really step up the game in the Sabre world. The F-86E should not be forgotten either, with the F-86E-5 and F-86E-10 being more than enough, and I feel a later F-86A model would be nice, like a late F-86A-7 The British would also enter big, with the Canadair Mk. 2, Mk. 3, Mk. 4, Mk. 5 and Mk. 6 variants. Then there are the Australian Sabres, the CAC CA-27 Mk. 30, Mk.31, and Mk. 32 are truly powerful Sabres, maybe even the kings of all Sabres. This might seem like a lot to add, but most of the Sabre models look similar from the outside. This could also only be realistically accomplished with a heavily decompressed BR range, with statistics having less say in balancing. Would also like any recommendations for any other Sabre model not mentioned here.
A video on the JA37C would be pog, I think its a severely underrated hidden gem after the BR changes, absolutely dominates its BR. Slapped a talisman on it and completely researched the grippen in under a day lol

Honestly While there was nearly a dozen better aircraft at its BR/ at BR’s it constantly saw I always got an ace in this thing It’s just a dream to fly
I had a lot of fun playing this thing even when the a-10s and su-25s were out n about, ofc using the rockets as flares and just generally avoiding em if I can. Made for a challenging plane but felt good playing it like a rat. Nice to see it being more meta now though, might give it a revisit and dish some nords out.
5:40 same thing happens in tanks when an 8.3 helicopter with ATGM's kills you from 4km away, you check their stat card and they go negative in almost every tank they play but somehow have 3-4 kd in their helicopter.
Another jet that got a glow up is the Lightning F.6. I think it might have gotten a shadow buff because holy shit that thing suddenly flies like a dream an barely compresses, even at mach 1.
@@naskheera No, I mean that the flight performance feels far better than it did before. Earlier it would compress kinds hard anywhere about 1000km/h or so, now it barely compresses at over mach 1. I don't believe it's even that I just got closer to spading it because I didn't get any new parts for it researched between when it felt worse and when it felt better since I took bit if an break.

For the F-104s even though the retention goes down, on the dev it was also basically limited to only 9G turns (opposed to 11-12G, sometimes more turns now). So it will just retain energy regardless because it can't turn anymore at all. So I imagine the 104s will be even more fun to fight actually (/s) as they will instead have the entire map as turn radius while still doing mach 1 because of it. Hopefully the plane just becomes so boring to play nobody will plays it anymore.
The most crazy think about the f8u is that the aim 9d cannot be out manoeuvred as if you turn your engine away as you would with a magic one the aim 9d still tracks due to its seeker head
I advocate for giving all the planes that are 9.7+ flares, it would make so many great planes worth using, they already gave shit like the F-5C flares, why can't we play half the TT just cuz you don't have flares on shit like the Mirage IIIC or J35D etc

Because of the lack of Israeli players to mention it. It’s one of my favorite planes for the be tho because even without missiles your an excellent dogfighter, engine, and have good aoa allowing easy aces when stock. With missiles it’s easy mode :)
Because it is an A-4. It isn't busted once you get past farming afk/absentminded players. Below average maneuverability at best, very poor MER and nothing special top speed basically means if you run into someone that isn't brain dead you are boned. The Shafrir 2s are slightly worse AIM-9Ds (still respectable missiles) and the DEFAs are DEFAs. Everything you could say good about it comes with a not insignificant catch. It is arguably worse than the G.91Y that you see demonstrated in the video.

This is a completely nonsensical and fantastical bs take. The only missile in this BR range with a high enough PK for you to even come close to saying something like this and it be a remotely reasonable take that isn't an all aspect is the British SRAAM when launched within range to actually hit. Every other missile, if the opposing player is aware and knows what they are doing, has a less than 30% PK. That is a fairly low chance to kill. "The top speed and acceleration allow to you catch up to (enough get your missiles in range) pretty much anything you can meet other than F-104s" Not entirely true. There are a number of subsonics that are faster. The advantage in favor of the Ayet against most subsonics is acceleration, not top speed. Short term it can escape/catch most subsonics but it can't run/catch permanently from a number of them and will be caught/outrun eventually by them. The G.91Y is faster, has better acceleration with similar overall maneuverability and has much, much better MER. The CL-13B hard counters the Ayet almost completely having an actually noticeably higher top speed and much better overall maneuverability while having only moderately worse acceleration. The Hunter F.1 can more than give the Ayet a run for it's money with a very good pilot. The F.6 largely controls the fight against an Ayet, has the aforementioned SRAAMs and should be 9.3 at the highest rather than 9.7. The MiG-17 is faster, by about 40kmh, and has much better turn. Sure, the Ayet has a noticeable acceleration advantage but it can't use that acceleration advantage in an actual fight because of it's horrible MER compared to the MiG-17s great MER. Against the best subsonic jets in the game the Ayet is very much second rate as it is better matched up against the likes of the Hunter F.1 than any of the true best subsonics. Anything better and the Ayet is starting the fight on the back foot and has to find a way to win by forcing an error on the part of the opponent.
The Y and YS have twin afterburning engines. I suspect they have barely any parts in common with the G91 and they just reused the name, like the 2 different F-84s.
You're carrying the AA20s, can you go support the bug report on them? Its been 6 months and they're still busted, you can see the picture I posted in the report of one of my Nords literally flying through someone's wing to detonate behind them and cause minimal damage. TH-cam doesn't like links in comments so the name of the report is "AA-20s detonate behind target and / or do little to no damage." I've got two videos on my channel and one is evidence for the bug. Gaijin "acknowledged" the bug like 3 months ago but haven't done a thing about it.

Most of all, I don't get the "farming afk/absent-minded players" claim, the Ayit mostly fights subsonic flareless planes, none of them can really do much against AIM-9Ds or Shafrir 2s. Even if the enemy is an always-aware dogfight god in a plane that outclasses the Ayit in flight performance they can easily be dealt with using a single missile. The maneuverability is just decent enough to outturn most supersonics you see. The top speed and acceleration allow to you catch up to (enough get your missiles in range) pretty much anything you can meet other than F-104s

They very much can. If you are already turning neither has a hope of connecting if you are carrying speed in the turn, and the AIM-9D can't even be launched, unless you are doing a specific slice through the turn that gives these missiles a mostly straight run on the target. Never mind fly in front of the sun or use something as an improvised flare and both are instantly defeated. Sure, these missiles can pull over 10Gs but that doesn't mean that they can't be defeated via maneuvering, especially if the pilot knows what they are doing and the aircraft in question actually has maneuverability.

This is a completely nonsensical and fantastical bs take. The only missile in this BR range with a high enough PK for you to even come close to saying something like this and it be a remotely reasonable take that isn't an all aspect is the British SRAAM when launched within range to actually hit. Every other missile, if the opposing player is aware and knows what they are doing, has a less than 30% PK. That is a fairly low chance to kill.

Not entirely true. There are a number of subsonics that are faster. The advantage in favor of the Ayet against most subsonics is acceleration, not top speed. Short term it can escape/catch most subsonics but it can't run/catch permanently from a number of them and will be caught/outrun eventually by them.
The G.91Y is faster, has better acceleration with similar overall maneuverability and has much, much better MER. The CL-13B hard counters the Ayet almost completely having an actually noticeably higher top speed and much better overall maneuverability while having only moderately worse acceleration. The Hunter F.1 can more than give the Ayet a run for it's money with a very good pilot. The F.6 largely controls the fight against an Ayet, has the aforementioned SRAAMs and should be 9.3 at the highest rather than 9.7. The MiG-17 is faster, by about 40kmh, and has much better turn. Sure, the Ayet has a noticeable acceleration advantage but it can't use that acceleration advantage in an actual fight because of it's horrible MER compared to the MiG-17s great MER.
Against the best subsonic jets in the game the Ayet is very much second rate as it is better matched up against the likes of the Hunter F.1 than any of the true best subsonics. Anything better and the Ayet is starting the fight on the back foot and has to find a way to win by forcing an error on the part of the opponent.

I suspect they have barely any parts in common with the G91 and they just reused the name, like the 2 different F-84s.

You're carrying the AA20s, can you go support the bug report on them? Its been 6 months and they're still busted, you can see the picture I posted in the report of one of my Nords literally flying through someone's wing to detonate behind them and cause minimal damage. TH-cam doesn't like links in comments so the name of the report is "AA-20s detonate behind target and / or do little to no damage." I've got two videos on my channel and one is evidence for the bug. Gaijin "acknowledged" the bug like 3 months ago but haven't done a thing about it.
