    That is a truly beautiful large etching press. As an experienced etcher, the problem I see with so many elaborately produced prints is that, in the end, most are not really very good works of art. And, so I have to side with someone like an early Picasso, who produced remarkable etchings (like the "Frugal Repast") on previously used scrappy plates. In the end, the art itself always surpasses the production techniques. Having said this, I always love the entire process!

    Can't begin to express how interesting and well done this you tube is. I had no idea how this process was done, and yet after watching it twice now, I'm still amazed by Mark's precision. Thank you for sharing your art Ken.

    Was surprised that newsprint was not placed over the printing paper to protect the blankets. I enjoyed seeing his way of lightly dusting on the wheat paste. It is nice to see a skilled printer in action, instead of the usual youtube amateurs.

    Great job, youse guys! Curious that the plate looks so flexible - thought it was zinc at first, maybe it's solarplate. What gives?

    if you look at minute 1:56 and minute 6:33 you see the two solar plates are very similar. Is it two photos of the same section of forrest???

    • @elliottkce
      @elliottkce  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are two separate plates. The first plate prints the blue and the second, the yellow. You can see at the 5:33 mark the yellow ink on the left and the blue ink on the paper to the right. Thanks Cas for the good eye!

    What is the name of the wheat paste powder that you used. It is difficult to find here in Australia.

      In Australia if you can't acquire wheat glue you can purchase rice glue and have seen people even simply mix up a flour & water paste on videos for chine colle. All the best.

    Those don't look like copper plates. Zinc, magnesium or?
