      There's one thing you didn't cover. What if the audio file is not part of the video file, but something you add separately to it and need to make adjustments/edits at various sections of it.

      You just add the audio file from your computer and put it in the video and edit from there

    Kevin, when I first opened Resolve I found it to be totally incomprehensible. After watching this video, I have progressed to where I am now merely baffled. I'll watch this a few more times to progress to the point of just being confused. Thank you!

    I've got to say I've tried DaVinci Resolve several times with no luck. It's so overwhelming. But after watching your video I feel I could give it a new and fresh try. Please don't give up on doing more videos like this one. It would be nice to see how your workflow is when you're working on your tutorials, from shooting to editing and rendering.

      Please tell me, I can't find the function, the shift of clips when transferring, taking it with the mouse, so that it doesn't cut off the clips when you want to insert a clip between clips on the timeline?

    Here's a quick reminder so that you don't make the same mistake I did, to import videos into DaVinci make sure they're in the .mp4 format. So if you're using OBS make sure to set the recording format to .mp4. I spent a full 2 hours trying to figure out why my videos wouldn't import

    This tutorial is impressive. So much concise info in a 32 minute video and so easy to understand. Udemy just had their annual sale so I bought 2 series for DaVinci Resolve but they're wasting so much of my time. If you have a full course I'd love to take it!

      Just make sure that you have a PC that can run it, I have an i7 3.7Ghz and 16GB Ram and there is still some waiting, but once it's loaded it's more stable than Premier Pro IMO, happy editing.

I was intimidated by this software at first, but your video has shown me that Resolve is actually really streamlined and intuitive.     Amazing video and special thanks for the footages! Another tip for beginners: the first shortcut I wanted to change was the ripple set in/out (ctrl + shift + [/]). In the keyboard menu (ctrl + alt + k) it is located in Trim/Ripple. Hope this helps!

    I have a new video camera Sony Z280, but on my Power Director Editing wont work with MXF files without converting them to MPEG 4!! can you tell me if DaVinci Resolve 17 will work with MXF Files ? thanks

      Only works with MP4, so either convert it or somehow make your camera record in mp4.

      its the problem with the file type
      dont use mkv.................same thing happened to me.......but my video is not playing

    Thanks! I’ve done much of my filming and all of my editing on my iPhone since I started my channel. One thing I will mention for anyone using apple products, you CANNOT just drag videos from your photos folder. The best way to be able to edit iPhone video in Davinci on a Mac is to airdrop the videos to the Mac, keep them in a folder outside of your photos folders, and then you can drag them in like normal. It took me over an hour to figure that one out lol.
