Very interesting and very well made video. Just a 'note': The 'thing' that is a bit 'not taken care of by Black Magic Design' is: if you install DaVinci Resolve on a older computer. It wastes your time in installing, then when you are about to run it, it tells you your graphic is not up to it. Which is actually fine with all other products I have, but they can easily 'check' that before installing - you cannot replace a CPU or GPU on a laptop mostly! I understand what they are probably using to handle graphics - something (cannot remember name) that has changed in computers CPUs and GPUs since I think 2015 onwards and all computers that have CPUs and GPUs older than 2015 cannot handle Graphics in 'some' powerful applications. ADDITION: the fact application needs restarting, that is a sign of that - apart the 'probable' use of networking and sharing, it probably has. Not used it yet - just finished installing version 18, to test it. But thanks again to give us a quick start!!
I’m thinking about trying out DaVinci for some of my future videos. It has so many possibilities, with a clean and simpler interface compared to the other “giants.” Thanks for this, Justin! You explained everything so clearly and to the point. So many huge channels can learn from you!
This is a great tutorial, thanks! I just started editing a couple of month ago and was using iMovie, but now I decided to switch to DaVinci Resolve. I was finding it a bit intimidating until I watched this 🙂

Now we're waiting for DaVinci Resolve *18* Complete Tutorial.
Btw, Shift+Delete (ripple delete) is not working on my PC. So I use Shift+Backspace.
ive been editing my youtube videos on the built in windows editor and have been looking to upgrade! thank you for this!
You're welcome - good luck with your upgrade! 👍
Interesting. On PC I can't seem to use the 'Ripple edit right/left' shortcuts
Thank you for this very to-the-point video, without any extra fluff thrown into it. I feel like I learned a lot here.
You're welcome - so glad you've found value in our content! 👍

Justin, thank you so much for putting this video together. After watching a couple Filmora videos, I sat, staring at my screen, eyes glazed over. This is the perfect video at the perfect length for me to use while I chop up my video. lol. Seriously, thank you. You're the best!
You're welcome - have a great day!
Thank you sooooooooo x 1 Trillion you saved my video editing life
You're welcome - awesome to hear that! 😃
Very interesting and very well made video.
Just a 'note':
The 'thing' that is a bit 'not taken care of by Black Magic Design' is: if you install DaVinci Resolve on a older computer.
Great Tutorial Mate, I've used Sony Vegas for 15 years, but now ill be able to start off with some basic Go Pro editing and learn on the go - cheers
Thanks - all the best with your edits! - Hazel, PV Team

You're welcome - glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks! I was really intimidated when I first opened DaVinci. This helps a lot.
You're welcome, good luck with your edits 👍 - Hazel, PV Team
I’m thinking about trying out DaVinci for some of my future videos. It has so many possibilities, with a clean and simpler interface compared to the other “giants.” Thanks for this, Justin! You explained everything so clearly and to the point. So many huge channels can learn from you!
Thanks Dorian! Hope everything’s going really well for you
@@PrimalVideo Thanks so much and best regards to you as well 😁
