So it’s understood, I read this in an article some time ago. How true it is I can’t say for sure but I can say she is my all time favorite performer and if I could only listen to one singer the rest of my life it would be Beth Hart.
She was clean and sober over a year when she did this performance. Everyone assumes she’s loaded because she's so emotionally free in her artistry. Beth is the best!

But when on her meds she has to be regulated so she doesn't feel so low and depressed, like she has a hard time writing and doesn't even want to play her Piano at times. The Meds stabilize her, and helps to get back on track. I have a family member that goes through the same thing, and I have seen his highs and his lows. He is an Artist and a very very good one at that, but just like Beth in order to feel like a real human being she has to stay on her meds otherwise it sends her in a tailspin, and it takes about six weeks to feel better again. I love Beth's Music, and the passion she puts into it blows my mind! ❤❤

Parramatta Peter she hasn't done drugs for 15 years. She did say in the past that she occasionally slips up in her sobriety where alcohol is concerned so she might have had something to drink, but no drugs. She's just that intense and into it. 💖

At one point during this show, she says she has been recently sober for a tiny bit; however, us that have partaken in the varieties of high that can be so enjoyable at times, can easily tell that Beth is a bit higher than alcohol gets you here...she told a lil' fib, as all of us who are faced with the scrutiny of others concerning such things, have done. That being said, this concert was many moons ago, and currently, it is just as easily seen that she has honestly done well overcoming her addictions and keeping them at bay for many years since this performance...playing for the president, her concerts with bonassama (sp?), her participation in the blues cruise, and her latest album. Nonetheless, it doesn't really matter; most things don't :) This truth that remains self-evident is that she is a fuckin' musical juggernaut with talent so overwhelming that unintentionally & without malice, 99% of all musicians in the world are left with the stark unspoken truth of their mediocrity because of it. She sits with the rare & blessed few found in all subjects moving towards their rightful places in the history of our species. Congrats, Beth!

Had the experience of a 60 year old cowgirl's lifetime when I saw BETH in So. Lake Tahoe a couple of years ago. She's sober now, so it was different. Not as rock and roll crazy. But sober or not, this "Chicazola" can sing like no one. She truly gives my gal "Janis" a run for her money.

Parramatta Peter she hasn't done drugs for 15 years. She did say in the past that she occasionally slips up in her sobriety where alcohol is concerned so she might have had something to drink, but no drugs. She's just that intense and into it. 💖

+Marisa Newland I've watched this concert in its entirety quite a few times...one of the greatest live performances to be captured on film. At one point during this show, she says she has been recently sober for a tiny bit; however, us that have partaken in the varieties of high that can be so enjoyable at times, can easily tell that Beth is a bit higher than alcohol gets you here...she told a lil' fib, as all of us who are faced with the scrutiny of others concerning such things, have done. That being said, this concert was many moons ago, and currently, it is just as easily seen that she has honestly done well overcoming her addictions and keeping them at bay for many years since this performance...playing for the president, her concerts with bonassama (sp?), her participation in the blues cruise, and her latest album. Nonetheless, it doesn't really matter; most things don't :) This truth that remains self-evident is that she is a fuckin' musical juggernaut with talent so overwhelming that unintentionally & without malice, 99% of all musicians in the world are left with the stark unspoken truth of their mediocrity because of it. She sits with the rare & blessed few found in all subjects moving towards their rightful places in the history of our species. Congrats, Beth!
So, I'm not the only one who thought that she was def high here. If i were to put $ down, my bet would be on a moderate dose of Ecstasy. Sure does nothing to hurt her performance, that's for sure.
Had the experience of a 60 year old cowgirl's lifetime when I saw BETH in So. Lake Tahoe a couple of years ago. She's sober now, so it was different. Not as rock and roll crazy. But sober or not, this "Chicazola" can sing like no one. She truly gives my gal "Janis" a run for her money.

What surprises me is when I find fans of his who don't know who she is, even though they frequently listen to the music he collaborated with her on.
