    This man deserves so much more credit! Incredible knowledge of these very complex cars, these tutorials are here for years and generations to come. Fancy servicing mine 😂

    I believe the mystery box is the amplifier for the speakers I took it out and it still works just fine

    I really appreciate this video. I just purchased a 1991 dodge stealth with an automatic transmission that is stuck in 3rd gear. I am fairly confident that it is the transmission control unit. I am hopefully going to take it out and replace the capacitors. Hopefully it is just capacitors and none of the chips that are bad.

      @@jimmyhebert0073 yeah new transmission computer fixed it. Some of them you can fix by soldering new capacitors in the computer but mine was unfixable. You can probably find a new computer for cheap on the website 3si

    Another good video! I've worked on a few of these cars, and never seen that mystery box under the seat. I have seen the stock amp under the passenger seat (on LH cars) - but looks very different to this one.
    Is that an RF cable coming out of it?

    • @3000GTGTORestoration
      @3000GTGTORestoration  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct. It is a rf cable. It also has a couple of wires going to the etacs so I think it is for remote door locking or window operation.

      Hey I've got a similar issue did you ever figure it out ?

  • @yeti4al
    @yeti4al 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you want to figure out the mistery box, sent a picture of the white connector or dig deep into the wiring diagrams. My guess it's the radio amp (94 and up models) white 18 pin connector and an antenna cable. Only wiring color of the wires can tell for sure if it is this box.

    • @3000GTGTORestoration
      @3000GTGTORestoration  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      As I said in the video, it has no connection whatsoever with the radio. It is connected to the etacs which controls mirrors, locks etc.

      @@3000GTGTORestoration Sorry I missed the part that it was wired into the ETACS ECU. Well if it doesn't have any refference to a Mitsubishi partnumber (as OEM modules usually have the partnumber clearly visible) my next bet is an Aftermarket Theft Alarm system. Is there any frequency label on the mistery box?

    Recently got my hands on a 3000GT eurospec. I find no option for active exhaust, and I do not find much information on which models had this, except for one post which claims the eurospec versions did not come with active exhaust. Do you know if this is correct? (This is a 1993 VR4 twin turbo)

    Hi. I have a problem where my power windows, turn signals, fuel gauge don’t work, I was wondering if the etacs system controls all of these?

  • @nunoribeiro5245

    I thank you for your great videos, I've just bought a 92 3000gr VR4 Us Fed spec and I've been using your tips to get it running like it should.
    From what I drove I noticed a little play in the steering wheel but I've already checked all external components from the steering and the car doesn't drift or need correction. Other thing is that in the manual it states that allows 30mm of play in the steering wheel?? Isn't that to much play? I'm new with this car so I don't know if it is normal or not.
    Other thing the central locking in this car doesn't work when locking the door with the key in the door. But with the door button it works.
    Thank you and best regards from Portugal.

      I have a 1994 Vr4 and I don't think there is so much play in the steering wheel, but never payed any attention to that.
      As for locking and unlocking with your key... turn your key (2) times in a quick succession to lock or unlock all doors...

    Has anyone experienced the engine start to lose power after a certain rpm ? Mine start to loose power after 4k then if I shift to the next gear seems fine. What should I be looking at anyone. Thanks in advance ! Btw just got her back on the road she’s been sitting in the California sun since 03 but she runs great after all the work done.
