Buckin you are an amazing person. Plus when I heard that you have not written an invoice in 5 years because of the success of your TH-cam channel just made my respect for you go through the roof!
Thanksgiving day on my way to my son's house he called and asked me to get a meat thermometer stopped at the only store open found the thermometer got in line man ahead of me was putting stuff back things he had no money for I told cashier I would pay for it the man told me you don't have to do that I say no I want to must be why son needed the thermometer then it was meant to be 20 bucks made his day the cashier started to cry and said it gave her the chills made my day glad I was able to help be kind pay it forward feels amazing
Life in BC is fantastic gotta luv Doug fir. Had a couple of young guys here at my place on Salt Spring drop a dead Arbutus for me. The younger apprentice was bent over working on sharpening the chain, I walked up behind him and said out loud "did you get the Gullet!!" the look on his face, he is a true fan, said he has learned more from your videos, I'm sure we all have, thanks for being such a great role model for the next generation passing on the strong worth ethic and be kind mindset. Now I'm standing and bucking up that old dead arbutus, no more bending with a small bar for this Saltspringer. Cheers Billy Ray, keep doing what you do.
Dude wrote you half a novel and all you have to say is good man come on Billie Hollywood show some respect to your fans take a couple minutes out of your time ranting on how great of a tree guy you are or cutting off the sleeves to your flannel shirts
I have had a wood stove for over 40 years , to me your cutting kinnelon , the smaller you chop that wood the faster it burns , but seening your stove I kind of understand why you do it , anyway love watching your videos , you are a master woodman's , and know more about cutting tree's down then I ever did !!! keep them coming !!!
If you have one giant piece of wood or 10 small pieces that equals the same volume of the big one both scenarios will produce the same amount of btu’s 👍
@@homersimpson5668 Correct but bigger pieces give a longer burn time. The best wood is round small logs that will fit but that’s rare so we split the wood. To each their own.
Long time watcher I don't comment much but I just want to say thank you for everything you have taught me about saws and life in general. Wanted to let you know I'm now part of the stand up and buck community with a hultz.372xp pulling a 28in chain ran it for about 10min today before work
Greetings from hardwood country Tennessee. I'm not a timberman. Just a builder, use powersaws a lot. Nothing like you. I went to Vancouver Island years ago for a work project . Beautiful country. I'm pushing 68 been burning wood for heat since I was 18. My kids think I'm crazy for hand splitting wood , I love it. I do have to get out a log splitter for that ole crotch wood. God Bless You Man. Be safe.
Buckin, thank you. You are so staunch.I love the sawing and then splitting videos. The more wood I ser in my shed the happier I am. Same applies when I'm watching you my friend. Cheers from HB N Z
Love ya Billy ray. You keep me fired up for cutting wood and being nice. Sometimes I just don’t wanna, then I see a post from you and off I go. 👍🏻 God bless brother

I am jealous 😫! The best and only wood around here is popular. A big tree that's solid is only 14-16 inches. Oh well, work with what you got! Thanks again Buckin.
Fantastic message! thank you for all you do. making a difference in people’s life is in my opinion what life is all about. and you through your work, generosity, videos and video messages are able to help more people than most. thank you! ps my parents are Ken (Kenny) and Inge
Love your firewood videos. Always look for new tricks and good ideas. I saw that you had the old wood hook out picking up your wood. Thanks for the recommendation for getting one. I think that it is a game changer. And thank you again for making these great videos and sharing some of your knowledge
The reason I subscribed to this channel years ago, was because of Buckin's style of splitting wood and how he hang's an axe, it's very entertaining for me.
I totally agree with you about Douglas Fir being a great firewood! I have a Lopi Revere wood stove insert that’s will be 30 years old next year, still going strong. I have almost totally rebuilt the stove except for the fire bricks.
Merry Christmas Buckin! I'm down here in Virginia 24 years old. It's my first year putting up wood to cure for my own wood stove. Grew up with a wood stove but it's a different ball game when it's your own stove! Your advice on everything from saws to axes has been so valuable to me. It's made the process so much easier and I have been loving it. Being out in nature listening to the axe as it bites a round. Running a sharp chain throuth some timber I just wedged over. I love it I just wanted to thank you for your lessons and your messages that you give. As a younger guy your channel has taught me just as much about life as it has running a saw. So Merry Christmas stay safe and once again thank you!
Buckin’ you are the man !! I tell my girlfriend Sandra ( who you also met at Bunyan) that you are the backwoods philosopher. The power in the message of kindness fueled by honesty and hard work is the all mighty trifecta of peace and joy. Throw in some bucked wood rounds an old axe on a thin curvy handle and a woodshed …. Talk about heaven and the firewood gods rejoice !! Love ya buddy , glad you and the fam are happy and healthy
Amen to the given my brother Buckin happy holidays to you and your family hope all is great!!!!!🙏🏻🪓🪓🪓 nice to see you banging with the tools again I can’t wait to bang again 🙏🏻
I tend to work on firewood when it is cool outside. I know that firewood makes you sweat more than once... but I don't like to push it either. 😁 Thank you for all you do Bill. Be safe and be well. Happy holidays!!
Oh man, I'm so jealous. Here I am riding the struggle bus trying to split ash, oak and silver maple. The oak is OK, but I need to use a maul. The only way to get green ash and maple to split is by driving a steel wedge with a sledge. Then I watch Buckin' here basically just tearing apart douglas fir with his bare hands. Send some of those douglas fir trees to us here in Minnesota!
Vartans roof needs some help! Haha wow! That wood bullet is amazing!! I know what I want for Christmas.. if only I had 600 bucks lol you’re such a blessing to me Buckin! My life has changed since I started watching your channel I freakin love my life haha
Lol, it's always firewood season! When a tree presents itself to you (dropping or endangers a client's property) -- It is ready for some more chopping! Hahahaha, love your spirit brother. Trying to bring that with me wherever I go.
Hi Billy, nothing wrong with 2-wheel drive pickups for most of us. They tend to last a lot longer with far less mechanical problems. Plus get more miles per gallon.

Drifting with my friend side by side on are bikes! See you at the drifting party! Love the sound of all the saws and axes! Jump on we’re, out of here for the party!❤😂 git-R-dun, Buckin!
Definitely jealous of the west coast woods. Here on the east coast we don’t have fir. Every Doug fir I’ve seen split, is it’s always straight grain, doesn’t weigh a ton. Nothing better than an easy splitting wood that throws heat like a hardwood.
Enjoy all your videos. A whole lot of knowledge , great that you pass some of it along. Have a question for about the purchase of a new saw. Have in my ole mind, I have earned a new one. First off, am 83 years old, cut between 2 and 3 cords a year. I live on the east slopes of the central Washington Cascades. Would like to purchase the lightest saw, but like a 24 to 28 inch bar. In your opinion, what would be the lightest saw and still do the job. I am not up to splitting with an ax, have a wood splitter for that. Thanks for your opinion. Very best of the Holidays sent your direction.
