- MS Dynamica and MS Vera shipping John Deere 6R and 6000 series tractors from the JD factory in Mannheim (Germany) to Antwerp harbor (Belgium). From there the tractors are shipped al around the world. On the trip back to Germany they take on, in the USA produced 7R, 8R and 9R series tractors.

This reminds me of a couple of years ago the BNSF rail line is very close to my house and I counted 100 John Deere Combines going west, I suppose to the Port of Seattle , for export to Asia because there are no wheat fields west of where I live !!!

I understand why you would want to produce in the European market, lower cost of transportation to customers, and I have the utmost faith in European manufacturing, but it still makes me a little sad to see John Deere's not made in America.

Those John Deers made in Germany are actually Lanz Tractors. John Deere purchased Lanz in 1956 and started using the name "John Deere-Lanz" for the Lanz product line and repainted them green and yellow.
Most mid range and utility tractors have been made in Manheim since the late 60s, after production of smaller tractors was moved from Dubuque, IA.
