All of you are amazing! I work for a sugar beet coop, and I appreciate the tremendous amount of work AG does to bring in the harvest, under some very challenging conditions!
Excellent video, thank you for taking the time to share it!!! where is this farm what state?? I love John Deere's!! I grew up on a several thousand acre farm in northern Michigan, I'm not part of it anymore but it is still in operation and rockin n rollin
I live in Kansas and worked on the farm when I was a kid. Anyway just wanted to say I've never seen an equipment intensive environment as you've got there!
actually...Tod3k has a point The damage to the field is in the sub soil. If you were to drive passed this field the following year/crop. The damage would be visible.
Actually the question has not been asked before. Generally there are tarps rolled on that side of truck. Often farmers will put extra boards on the passenger side too. The harvester also unloads on the driver side. Pretty much designed around the harvester. Latest trend is bigger trucks and not loading in field. The year this was taken it was too muddy to load on the road so they had to use the headland. They have four carts which run in the field. Trucks usually stay out anymore.
how many acres of beets you do a year? those side dumps are nice in alberta canada never see that in beet harvest, just use trucks, would be nice when it's muddy with those carts
Oh yeah, sugar beet harvest. It seems to almost always be in late fall and it's cool and wet out in the fields. Don't let some of these stupid comments get to you, they have no idea what they are talking about!!! You sure have neat dump carts, I have never seem ones like that. Here in Southern Manitoba the farmers use carts for the grain harvest but they unload with an auger and that clearly would not work in this application. Thanks for the video! Which part of the world was this beet harvest?
How many acres of land you have in total, my grandpa was a farmer in Elkton area but owned land throughout Huron county. Unfortunately he died of cancer at 63 and nobody took the farm. I remember sitting with my cousin driving the truck to Pioneer sugar and lines were crazy. First person in North america to use Class equipment and was number one corn grower in Huron County btw nice vids.
maybe they did that way because a tractor with it low gears can generate more pulling torque then a semi and they didnt want to damage the truck with the tractor pulling it
How many bushels is the high dump ? how many ton ? I make a 1300 cu.ft about 1050 bushel high dump possibly bigger if need be check it out Horstline dump trailers and high dumps
Hard on the truck how? The truck wouldn't have contributed dick to pulling the load anyhow, spinning the tires is just going to get everything else dirty. Let the tractor do the work, they are kind of made for pulling.
your not sopposed to drag the truck its hard on the drive terrain spinnin the wheels would eliminate the drag who cares about getiin it dirty did you not see the 12 inches of mud that they are drivin through lol
He could have set the parking brakes and it would have made not much of a difference, there isn't any traction, that's the point of using the tractor to pull him through it. Dragging a vehicle through that, that has no traction is not imparting any kind of strain on the driveline at all. Conversely, trucks like these typically throw drive lines when they get stuck like this and try to get out by spinning which is exactly the opposite of what you say and what common knowledge is. I don't know what you do for a living but I'm a professional technician and I also tow these vehicles.
i said he could have at least matched the speed of the tractor dont put words in my mouth and make me look like an idiot im a truck driver been doin it for over 6 years i know wat im talkin about u work on em you dont drive em.
"Spinning the wheels" implies turning them faster than the rate of travel, you said it yourself I don't have to put words in your mouth. When a race car driver spins his wheels do we not all assume he's breaking traction? Either way trying to match the speed isn't doing much either, no reason to risk the driveline when the farm tractor is plenty capable of pulling him, not to mention its much more controlled. Look at other beet farm operations, they do it the same way. When they harvest its usually wet and the soil just cant bear the load.
this question has probably been asked and im not gonna go through and look...why dont you load from the passenger side so you all you have to is drive forward instead of backing up...just curious
Why not at least have the truck in gear helping while being pulled instead of letting the 4WD do all the work...not that it really matters but it would be easier for the tractor.
Ref above comment, why reverse at all, no matter what side you are unloading from? I do not see a reason to back up when empty. Trying not to hit the camera?
Truck driver's got pleanty of balast anyway. I'm guessing you guys in America don't have a 'soil protection review' on your land to adhere to? Not saying your wrong, but in England we would get into trouble for making such an utter buggers muddle of the land.
tod3k so arm chair quarterback how many acres do you farm from your couch? They just bought two Ropa harvesters and a maus, and are worried that they won't get done. Ropa don't build a bigger harvester. We have real Roads in Michigan that can handle bigger/wider equipment. WW2 trucks? You lost your credibility there...... You have no clue....
Planting a sugar beet crop is a multi million dollar ordeal. You have to get the crop out any way and any time you can. I read some really bad reviews here. If you never been involved in it or know anything about the trucks or equipment then shut the hell up!
tod3k european trucks might be more technicaly advanced but american trucks look a hell of a lot better. I've seen euopean trucks they uglier than shit.
Any farmer with those tractors is fortunate, I could never afford to even rent one
All of you are amazing! I work for a sugar beet coop, and I appreciate the tremendous amount of work AG does to bring in the harvest, under some very challenging conditions!
Thanks for posting these great videos. Keep the camera rolling.

Drag the truck in the mud.... load it and drag it out.... Gota LOVE that JD9300
Super great video, big John Deere power!
Wow that is pure mud!!! :-D
@agrichampagne Trucks will haul anywhere from 20 to 40 ton. Depending on the combination.
I live in Kansas and worked on the farm when I was a kid. Anyway just wanted to say I've never seen an equipment intensive environment as you've got there!
Like seeing the beet operation very much
that makes sense...thanks for the answer
In America the farmer owns the land, and his crop. If he has to rut up his land to get his crop out, it's his problem, no one elses.
guy pulling the volvo has the best job at that harvest. lol
actually...Tod3k has a point
The damage to the field is in the sub soil. If you were to drive passed this field the following year/crop. The damage would be visible.
mqan that 9430 has a loud turbo whistle! i love it!
thats amazing
10 years later, same conditions in Minnesota.

Thats some big equipment for one farmer
How many tow ropes do you brake in a year. Cuz they must get worn out after awhile doing this all day. But they look pretty strong.
u guys need some safety pulls its a lot nicer and faster to hook up to the trucks
how many acres of beets you do a year? those side dumps are nice in alberta canada never see that in beet harvest, just use trucks, would be nice when it's muddy with those carts
LookS like a lot of dollars worth of equipment! Where is this at?
How many acres do you have in your farm ?
du beau matos ça fait rever....
Grandi mezzi !!!
where is this harvest at?

maybe they did that way because a tractor with it low gears can generate more pulling torque then a semi and they didnt want to damage the truck with the tractor pulling it
Muy bueno
hey u guys ever heard of the caseih quad track it would drive right through the mud and its not as wide so u could go closer to the semi
John Deere go right on through it
John Deere has tracked tractors as well but you use what you've got. You cannot buy a different tractor for every occasion.
we dont mess around in Michigan!
How many bushels is the high dump ? how many ton ? I make a 1300 cu.ft about 1050 bushel high dump possibly bigger if need be check it out Horstline dump trailers and high dumps
cool !!!
Завораживающее видео!
John Deere power! Great machines! Is this in Canada ?
The Great all over I'm in Southwest Georgia plenty of them over here
neat trickharvesting in mud but no mud on machinery trucks windows.
wow ! :)
How do they keep those carts from tipping over. Thanks
Physics. Lol
Americans arent scared to get down and dirty to get our work done.
The drives on the truck were drag, hard on truck and tractor for no reason.
Hard on the truck how? The truck wouldn't have contributed dick to pulling the load anyhow, spinning the tires is just going to get everything else dirty. Let the tractor do the work, they are kind of made for pulling.

There is going to be some shit flying out of the duel wheels of that Volvo truck when he gets moving.
Kurt you should recognize what state it is in. I've never seen any state that is as axle happy as Michigan
cuz our weight limit is 164,000 lbs and we get shit done lol
Nice video! Nothing like farming and trucking in Michigan. Check out, "Harvest time in the Saginaw Valley".

the reason the trucker didn't put his truck in gear was because that's how stuff gets busted in situations like that

this question has probably been asked and im not gonna go through and look...why dont you load from the passenger side so you all you have to is drive forward instead of backing up...just curious
If you loaded with peanuts trailers do I have a top on the other side
@Tod2k yea right american trucks are way more powerful and have way more torque
their working pretty flat out you cant fill up 3 carts at a time can you!
why does this trailer has 6 axes ??
Why don't the trucks wait on the road ? :-s
that's all pure muk
H
Why not at least have the truck in gear helping while being pulled instead of letting the 4WD do all the work...not that it really matters but it would be easier for the tractor.

I know the 8310 it is not as big what a good tractor
A truck driver that can't steer or meet a gear? God damn...
tod3k so arm chair quarterback how many acres do you farm from your couch? They just bought two Ropa harvesters and a maus, and are worried that they won't get done. Ropa don't build a bigger harvester. We have real Roads in Michigan that can handle bigger/wider equipment. WW2 trucks? You lost your credibility there...... You have no clue....
what the hell don't the driver know when u get pulled like that the truck should be driving as well cos all the 4wd is doing pulling dead wait
