It was a legend and the thing of the era. I was in college and EVERY GIRL was having a same cut and curl... 😅 and I'm glad now Meg found her face back..
That is my all time favorite too! I’m sad she didn’t talk about more of her outfits….the absolute best is the white men’s shirt with the tinted blue round sunglasses *chef’s kiss*
She is the rom com queen , even more than Julia Roberts in my humble opinion of the 80s and 90s.I love her short hair . She looks really pretty long hair but her short hair looks so amazing. Wish I could pull off that hair. She just looks so cool
She was the queen of the rom-com in the 90’s. She was also great in The Doors, IQ, When a Man Loves a Woman, City of Angels and Hanging Up. She has an incredible screen presence.
When a Man Loves a Women was such a tough one for me (heart-wrenching) but I sure didn’t mind getting an eye-full of Andy Garcia ;-) ;-). One of my all time faves is Sleepless, so how could I not think of it each time I’ve gone up to the top of the Empire State Building? Also loved French Kiss…which had some hilarious scenes.
Kate and Leopold should be mentioned here, because her wardrobe was integral to the character's archetype. Her masculine-inspired style looked amazing and was actually referenced in the film by another character who "complimented" her by saying "I like you. You're not like other women." She then asks, intrigued "I'm not?"... "No, you don't do pretty." Her reaction to the bizarre compliment "I don't?" is so amusing xD
Her hair is iconic next to Rachel Green and Julia Roberts but Meg Ryan is such a smart, self-aware and humble person which makes me just love her all these decades (yes, I'm old). Will watch the film ASAP and wish to see more of her films. Thanks for this Glamor!
I love Meg Ryan! When Harry Met Sally…, Sleepless in Seattle, and You’ve Got Mail are all such comforting films/rom-coms. I also remember watching the animated Anastasia movie with her. I cant wait to watch What Happens Later! I’m so glad she’s back. I hear she’s working on a Netflix movie!
I LOVED her outfits in You've Got Mail. Definitely timeless. I'm surprised they didn't include "The Women." She's a fashion designer in it and most of her outfits are highly stylized.
Sat next to her and John Mellencamp at a Broadway show in NY back in 2019. At one point something dramatic happened in the Show and she grabbed my arm. She was so sweet. During intermission she apologized. I said “no worries” have at it.
When Harry Met Sally and French Kiss are two of my favorite movies. I was friends with this boy I met at university. He came in town and my sister told me to take him to When Harry Met Sally. We celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary this past June. French Kiss as always been a favorite…and we now live in SW France! Her dress in that movie is gorgeous
I had her short haircut in the late '90, I simply adored her, the way she walked, and talked, how she was totally non-vulgar but incredibly appealing. Great era for movie characters looks. Before the plastic hit the fan.
There was a time when one couldn't imagine a romcom without her. I have never watched an interview with Meg in my life although I must have watched almost all of her movies including the non romcom ones. She is such an incredible actress. I decided to google her out of the blue this morning and voila, thank you Glamour.
I remember growing up and watching all of her movies and thinking, " wow this is the most beautiful woman i have ever seen" she just always had this very relaxed, classy and natural aura about her and still does. Her and Jennifer Connelly, mesmerised by them growing up.
I love watching Meg Ryan give a description of her movies as if we all haven't watched all of them multiple times and know some by heart! Lol! Still America's sweetheart! ♥️
I love that Addict to love was mentioned such a great sweet underrated romantic comedy. After When Harry met Sally it is my favourite Meg Ryan's movie.
I love that her voice is the same❤️ and even though we age on the outside, our souls stay youthful and so very very alive, growing with depth and intelligence as we age. I think Meg embodies that.
So silent woman...but a phenomenal might to quake our hearts & feeling a strongest ressonance ...this is Meg Ryan in our lives when We choose one day to get in love abt her
You've got mail my absolute favorite! I love Meg so much in 80s Rom- coms. Her reactions are everything in that movie. Her clothes contributed to characters but her annimated face and reactions to the goofy male costars are perfection and so endearing.
Meg Ryan should have had an Oscar nomination for Harry Met Sally. Imagine ANYONE else in that role- they would have been hateful and I will die on that hill...😤
Meg Ryan's roles /performances were a bigger influence/ impact on the civility of our past civilization. Pray we can obtain this again. Bring back our grace of humanity.
That's why I bought it on eBay for $6.00! In fact, I've been replenishing all of my favorite movies on DVD because I got so tired of looking up movies on Prime and constantly reading, "This video is currently unavailable"... 🤨
So many memories wrapped up along side these films! In the 90’s Meg Ryan was an inspiration. I loved the transition into her representing the aging woman. All things I was able to relate to. She is one of the greats!!
What a fun wander through movie nostalgia with back story details. I always loved her fun, touching films and still own many of them. She still looks great. Thank you!
I love this series. Of all the episodes that have been produced, this one might be my favorite. Her movies are so nostalgic for me personally. I really enjoyed hearing her talk about all the creatives involved in making her characters come to life. And hearing her explain why certain storytelling choices were made was really lovely. Also, French Kiss is a highly underrated movie.
Addicted to Love was so underrated! French Kiss is cute, of course we all love Sleepless in Seattle. Forgetting IQ which was amazing. She should have had Oscar nods for When a Man Loves a Woman and Courage Under Fire too
I so used to love her hair in Sleepless in Seattle. Even though she says they had trouble figuring out what to do with it, they did a fantastic job. The colour, the shine and healthiness of it and the movement was just so pretty and romantic. She looked great in all the hairstyles, but I remember being sad when she chopped it all off.
That was so much fun! I definitely need to revisit some of those older movies. I know i saw Joe vs. The Volcano but I have no memory or it. And excited to see the new one!
She has a new film out that I think she directed. But yeah I want to see her so much more. She wants to act on her own terms though. Values her real life over being onscreen. Love her!
She had many different hairstyles in various movies. Whatever she wore the clothes, she looked good as well as she felt comfortable in. I know that she enjoyed being an actress and being a good Mom to her children. Hope she can continue to act in the next film. Thank you for sharing your timeline.
She WAS 90s romantic comedy. She was so believable as a romantic lead because I couldn't help falling in love with her in every one of those movies!
Same🤍 I love her so much. If I want to feel cozy and calm and happy I play anything she’s in
@@Rebeka1589Yes. They had a lot of those movies back then. They were just nice movies. Do they have those now?
Meg's short hair is ICONIC. Period.
Absolutely! I never cared for the long Sleepless hair- she is just adorbs with the short.❤
It was a legend and the thing of the era. I was in college and EVERY GIRL was having a same cut and curl... 😅 and I'm glad now Meg found her face back..
I remember being a little girl in the 90s, wanting that exact same hair 😍
me too! @@minervarose7664
you sound like you write clickbait youtube video titles for a living
I love how she remembers many of the costume designers of her movies by name.
Same. I’m always impressed when celebrities do that in these segments. I can barely remember the name of my high school English teacher
It's not a surprise!! She knew beforehand what is going to be shown so she can prepare it
And some of her lines ❤
I doubt she did, she was probably told who did what
She doesn’t. 😂 She was prepped
Her fashion in French Kiss is so timeless and classy. The movie is shot beautifully too.
That is my all time favorite too! I’m sad she didn’t talk about more of her outfits….the absolute best is the white men’s shirt with the tinted blue round sunglasses *chef’s kiss*
I love French kiss so much.
That is one of my favorite movies ever!
one of my favorites and a truly underrated romcom gem!
I've never seen it! Going on my list of new movies to watch
She is the rom com queen , even more than Julia Roberts in my humble opinion of the 80s and 90s.I love her short hair . She looks really pretty long hair but her short hair looks so amazing. Wish I could pull off that hair. She just looks so cool
I’m SO HAPPY to see Meg Ryan acting again! Her movies just beautifully punctuated my entire growing up period and Ive always just loved her. ❤
I always forget how much I love her until I see her in something.
I remember asking for a Meg Ryan cut at the hair salon in 1999, loved it.
Same 💕
I was behind the times and asking for it in the 2010's.
I think I want this now.
@@L.Spencer, that’s a great idea. Whatever’s old is new again.
I asked for a Meg Ryan cut at the time When Harry Met Sally came out and I still have a version of that cut today-never looked back. It’s so classic…
She was the queen of the rom-com in the 90’s. She was also great in The Doors, IQ, When a Man Loves a Woman, City of Angels and Hanging Up. She has an incredible screen presence.

Yeah, and she was also great in Courage under Fire, a really unexpected genre for her.
She steals every scene.

So happy she is starting to look herself again. I want her to have a gigantic comeback
Ooh I didn’t know she was the voice for Anastasia. I’ll have to watch it.
I LOVED her outfits in You've Got Mail. Definitely timeless. I'm surprised they didn't include "The Women." She's a fashion designer in it and most of her outfits are highly stylized.
every fall i just want to wear everything she wears!
Meg Ryan in late 80s and 90s was the top of the game.
This woman shepherded me through every broken heart, I love her x
It's cool to see how many lives she's helped
I loved a lot of her short, choppy hairstyles. They really suited her. Always liked Meg Ryan.
Sat next to her and John Mellencamp at a Broadway show in NY back in 2019. At one point something dramatic happened in the Show and she grabbed my arm. She was so sweet. During intermission she apologized. I said “no worries” have at it.
She is so eloquent and personable. Super refreshing interview!
Can we please talk about the Meg Ryan strut? It's endearing, filled with self confidence and 100% Meg 💃🏼
i love it too 😂
“It is like a little Girl, but also like a woman”
It is the best!
When Harry Met Sally and French Kiss are two of my favorite movies. I was friends with this boy I met at university. He came in town and my sister told me to take him to When Harry Met Sally. Lovely remembrance! Thanks.
I love her Herve Leger dress!
I love Meg Ryan. "When Harry met Sally" is one of my all time favourite movies. 🥰

I've always loved Meg and I LOVED in the cut, she was amazing in it, very underrated film. So happy she's back. We are all rooting for you Meg ❤
What an Icon. She also looks so fresh and free currently. She really did define an era & genre.
She's done soooo much more!!! I want her to talk about them all.
Right!! I wanna hear about innerspace and the others they didn't talk about....
Her short hair suited her best. That's the look I'll always remember her with. It became her trademark
Lovely to see her again. "French Kiss" and "Addicted to Love" remain faves of mine and I always LOVED her short hair!
I love watching Meg Ryan give a description of her movies as if we all haven't watched all of them multiple times and know some by heart! Lol! Still America's sweetheart! ♥️
I love her in Innerspace with Dennis Quaid and Martin Short! Absolutely adore Meg Ryan ❤
I love that Addict to love was mentioned such a great sweet underrated romantic comedy. After When Harry met Sally it is my favourite Meg Ryan's movie.
She’s a great actress. So authentic, joyful and gorgeous too!!
One of my favorite actors of all times! In her comedic performances no one could top her. Love her style!
Ms Ryan has been missed!
Yay, she's back.
I hope happiness is hers!
I love that her voice is the same❤️ and even though we age on the outside, our souls stay youthful and so very very alive, growing with depth and intelligence as we age. I think Meg embodies that.
She actually doesn’t sound the same
I was thinking the same thing! We all age.
she seems so humble and grateful
It does something to my heart when I see Meg Ryan!!
So silent woman...but a phenomenal might to quake our hearts & feeling a strongest ressonance ...this is Meg Ryan in our lives when We choose one day to get in love abt her

I love Meg Ryan and her projects with Tom Hanks. Their movies are so magical and their chemistry is topnotch. I love them so muchhhh. 🤗💗
Meg Ryan should have had an Oscar nomination for Harry Met Sally. Imagine ANYONE else in that role- they would have been hateful and I will die on that hill...😤
Of all the Hollywood beauties, she is the most precious. Timeless
Meg is STILL so lovely - happy to see her!
So happy to see Joe Versus the Volcano on this list! It doesn't get the love it deserves.
so nice to hear her talk deeply and not just be this 2D image portrayed and criticised by the media Xx
When Harry Met Sally is my favorite film and I’ve absolutely always loved her style and everything about her in it.
Meg Ryan was one of the best actresses of her time. She had a unique style, and her comedy was brilliant.
I just love everything she has ever done. She is an icon.
Oh I've missed Meg Ryan. So good to see her in recent content.
Meg Ryan's roles /performances were a bigger influence/ impact on the civility of our past civilization. Pray we can obtain this again. Bring back our grace of humanity.
We definitely missed you so much Meg Ryan
When a Man loves a Woman was also a great film of hers - glad to see Meg back!
She’s so charming and interesting! I’d love her to write a book like this or something

Some people are actually angels in disguise..🤫 😇
That short haircut has become a classic!!❤️
She's as cool and charming as ever. Excited for her new movie!
I love Meg! I’m glad she’s acting again. Also French Kiss is STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO STREAM and it’s CRIMINAL
I dont understand why, that movie is amazing! one of my favorites. I do have the DVD though 😂
That's why I bought it on eBay for $6.00! In fact, I've been replenishing all of my favorite movies on DVD because I got so tired of looking up movies on Prime and constantly reading, "This video is currently unavailable"... 🤨
Glad it's not just me who looks up the movie and can't find it!
I also can't find Onegin with Ralph Finnes.
So many happy memories, staying up late with a Meg Ryan movie ☺
French Kiss! My favorite Meg Ryan film ❤️
I'm so happy she did this look back at her iconic movies!! I didn't know she came back to acting and will watch her newest movie
I adore Meg Ryan and all her films she was my icon as a young girl. Sad Kate and Leopold wasn't included but loved this piece!
Hugh Jackman in that movie 🤩 Swoon 💓
Amazing Meg Ryan!!! Wonderful personality!!!

I wish she spoke about City of Angels. Loved that movie!
I love her. Soooo many lovely memories of a beautiful, less complicated decade in my life - the 90s
Her hair was also phenomenal in Prelude to a Kiss. My favorite actress. ❤
Also in those same epoque 1992/93 FLESH&BONE ❤️
Love Meg Ryan! Her gesture after she’s asked why David Duchovny is so adorable
I loved her hair the most in City of Angels
She is so amazing , I find her so interesting to listen to
I am surprised they didn't talk about The Women (2008) she looked absolutely stunning in that film!
First one of these that the actor discusses the character as JUST a portrayal - this, in and of itself; an amazing revelation to her as an actress!

Not many can wear her shorter cut and look as amazing!
I think I had every hairstyle in When Harry Met Sally at some time. :). I love Meg. She seems like a lovely person to hang out with.
People used to say I looked like Meg Ryan, I loved her movies
Defo a hint of Meg!!!😁
Oh, I love her honesty and vibes!
I watch You ve Got Mail. Every. Year. I love Meg
Get this woman in more movies as soon as possible! We need her.
She has a new film out that I think she directed. But yeah I want to see her so much more. She wants to act on her own terms though. Values her real life over being onscreen. Love her!
She looks absolutely beautiful.
she looks terrific. glad she is back in front of and behind the camera!!!!
She had many different hairstyles in various movies. Whatever she wore the clothes, she looked good as well as she felt comfortable in. I know that she enjoyed being an actress and being a good Mom to her children. Hope she can continue to act in the next film. Thank you for sharing your timeline.
She always was and will be my favorite actor 😍
That was delightful! I really loved the recent movie "What Happens Later" and would like to see it again.
I’ve always loved her and thought I had seen or knew most of her films but she talked about a couple I did not know about and now look forward to.
Love her 🖤 is there a longer one w more of her movies? Her hair is iconic!
