I never realized until now that Kirsten has been part of several stages in my life. As a child, it was Jumanji and Small Soldiers. As a teen it was Bring it on, Maria Antoinette and Spiderman. As an adult, it was Interview with a Vampire, Melancholia and Power of the Dog.
I hadn't realized how impressive her resume is untill it was put down like this, so many iconic movies she was in

Marie Antoinette has always been a weird kind of comfort/guilty pleasure film for me. I just absolutely love it. It's like a slice of cake. It wasn't created for substance but for the taste and the look. It was beautifully created, absolutely delicious and you just always want more.

Loved what she said about Sofia Coppola essentially changing her life by letting her know that's she's a beautiful human being. Goes to show how much kindness and care can impact other people's lives, I think oftentimes without the other person knowing.

She has unique features and I interpreted what she said to mean that Sofia made her feel beautiful BECAUSE of her quirks as opposed to in spite of them. Also, not everyone who is considered 'beautiful' has a huge ego, and giving compliments (as long as they're genuine and not creepy) is, in general, a kindness. You could easily make someone's day with a compliment.

I feel like it really shines through in Sofia's films, she shows women in a way where they are just quietly beautiful without having it be aggressively sexualised or overdone or anything.

I grew up with her, so much nostalgia. She's acted with iconic actors, like Robin Williams, Brad Pit, Tom Cruise, Susan Surandon, Winona, Christian Bale, and the list goes on! Her roles have been so amazing, Meloncholia was amazing and Bring it On was a teen favorite of mine. She's so fortunate. I just wish I saw more of her now!

I can't believe that Kirsten was only 16 when making "Virgin Suicides", she seemed so much more mature to me. I'm glad that Sofia Coppola was so encouraging and reassuring to Kirsten on set while shooting the make out scenes, she's definitely one of my favourite directors.

I'm close in age to Kirsten. I feel like I've grown up with her. She brings so much talent to every role, and yet she's so down to earth in interviews.
Kirsten Dunst is one of my favorite actresses, like in top 10. She's definitely underrated. Marie Antoinette had a HUGE influence on me as a teenager and I see more and more of it today. I loved Melancholia as well, something about it drew me in. Her performances have just been so satisfying to see.

I recently watched her show "On becoming a God in central Florida" and what a gem that was. I am honestly sad that it got cancelled, but understand as it didn't seem to attract the viewership it deserved. I can recommend it to anybody who would want to enjoy Kirsten doing her thing. Absolutely amazing.

LOVE Kirsten Dunst. I feel like very few actresses can pull off pure comedy and high drama like she can. A truly versatile actress, I really hope she is recognized by the Academy one of these days.
I adore Kirsten, and I think that she has great comedic timing. Her earlier roles in teen comedies (All I wanna do, Bring it on, Drop Dead Gorgeous) are PERFECT. And her part in Fargo was great. I love her in dramas too, but I hope she will do some more comedies in the future.
As Kristen Dunst goes through her movies, I see my childhood and youth. I wish I had a time machine to relive it. It sucks to be an adult.

I love these types of vids that give you a chance to connect with artists on a more personal level. Kirsten is just straight up sweet and genuine. She seems like the type of person you could kick back and have an honest and open conversation with. No judgement, no competition, just two people living the moment. Thats rare in society, let alone a cutthroat industry like hollywood. Shes a professional through and through.
Drop dead gorgeous was a genius comedy, wish they would have talked about that.
I still watch Marie Antoinette and still find it intriguing and oddly seductive. There's something unusual about it that makes it like no other film in memory. It has a strange magic. It's a great film and its stature has only grown over time. And Dunst was genuinely beautiful in it. That film is going to be around for a long time and will likely become a classic.
The 1938 version with a Oscar nominated performance by Norma Shearer is a great classic. Shearer perfectly and beautifully captured the title character with grandness, elegance and pathos.

Great synthesis of profoundly disparate periods and styles - which makes you ask: what do they share in common? I've a feeling Sofia Coppola gave a lot of thought to this.
Melancholia is the best representation of depression on film I've ever seen, and Kirsten is absolutely phenomenal in that role.
I randomly went to watch as there was nothing else that interested me and didnt know what to expect, I was blown away it stated with me for months as I was depressed at the time, masterpiece in my view
I agree! That movie is amazing, and Kirsten's acting is the best in the film. Just like she upstaged Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt in Interview with the Vampire, she does the same to Gainsbourg and Sutherland in Melancholia. And I like those other two a lot, especially Gainsbourg, so I am not throwing shade.

I never really realized how pivotal she's been in my childhood watching movies. I love pretty much everything she's been and now I'm really also liking what her husband's been in. I really enjoy Melancholia, I laughed so hard whenever she was talking about the director, she definitely does have a point there. But I love that movie, the soundtrack, the cinematography, everything. I recommend that movie a lot, but it is quite dark, so most of the time my recommendation goes unheard. She's right though, it not only shows depression but the calm of the storm, or shall I say the calm of reality (their reality in the movie, can't spoil it.) I really enjoy the films she's been in, but that is one my favorites overall.
Phenomenal movie. Very heavy but worth the watch. It always intrigued me how it shows the POV of the pessimist, optimist, the realist, and the innocent.

Its a shame really that the 1938 Marie Antoinette with the divine Norma Shearer is overlooked in favor of the 2006 version. Its just brimming with wonderful performances especially by the beautiful Shearer who was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress (not the case for Dunst). Then there are also the lavish costumes and impressive sets. They don't call it Classic Hollywood for nothing.

We were so lucky to grow up in the 90s/2000s gotta say those movies were the best. The remakes have nothing on the originals. Bring it on was everything at that time. Watched it over and over. Love Kirsten.
I really wished they talked about Drop Dead Goregous, she's iconic in that movie.
She's a fantastic actress. I hope she knows that, even though she went through depression for some years. You know an actor is good when you forget who's playing the character. And she's so genuine, it's nice to see that in Hollywood.
She really puts acting in such an interesting way. She's also come so far. We're relatively the same age and I gotta say she's aging beautifully (and what looks natural). Kudos to her on her career thus far.
She is by far my favorite actress. Little Women and Marie Antoinette are incredible to me and I've watched them more times than I can count.

sucks there wasn't really anything about Small Soldiers. It was even listed in the intro, but skipped. Such an underrated film.

She's done so many great things. And she seems so grounded. Cool woman, great actress. People don't tend to give her credit, but with Melancholia and Fargo she hit it out of the park.

Sorry to break it to you but she’s definitely not grounded at all. Worked for a magazine back in 2013-2015 she was on set one day and after she was in the grocery store next door. One of the staff at the magazine saw her in produce and he looked at her and then she made security kick him out. Lol it was very telling.
@@michaelcurtis4627 there are three sides to every story. Do you really think this is enough to get people to think poorly of her? Perhaps she had a good reason for feeling the need to get security to “kick him out.” Perhaps he said or did something to make her feel uncomfortable. I sure don’t know, I wasn’t there, but if you’re going to bring up something like this you should’ve realized it was hardly enough to make her come off in a bad light.
She has had an amazing career! Give her the Oscar!

"Little Women" will always be one of my favorite movies of all time. There's nothing that compares with the warmth and love in that movie. The only thing I don't like about it is when Kirsten Dunst is changed for the older actress. She did a good job as well, but Kirsten brought so much more charm and vivacity to the character.
Did u expect that they don't change her when character gets older??

Kirsten is the kind of female actor where I've know all my life, I first met enjoying the youth and freshness, but then I could not stop enjoying all the years. Melancholia was what it made realize about her, about the fact that I've enjoyed her performances so much over the years.
I love her to bits, movies that she's in are sure to be interesting :)

The MOST underrated actress in my opinion. She’s absolutely incredible.
@Miss Manawaka for the calibre of talent that she has, she is definitely underrated for not being as wildly celebrated as an icon. Certainly no one denies her much-celebrated success otherwise. In fact it is precisely because she has touched the precipice of "almost" being forever celebrated that a lot of us think she is underrated, for how much she has achieved and how she isn't at the same level as a Scarlet Johansson, for example, who has also grown up doing movies, like Kristen.
She's so talented! Her vulnerability in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was incredible! And she was brilliant in Crazy/Beautiful: a very underrated movie.
I agree and wish they had talked about that one...she portrayed the helplessness one feels when being in love brilliantly.

Kirsten Dunst did an AMAZING job as Marie Antoinette. Still one of my favorite movies. She really captured the naïveté and vulnerability of her. Was so well done
