Here's my story: I was working as a server at Real Sports Bar & Grill and had the opportunity to meet a ton of athletes and celebrities. About 7 years ago, I saw Elliotte dining with his family. Instead of making a big scene, I decided to just say hi and introduce myself quietly. To my surprise, he got up from his seat, came over, shook my hand, introduced his family and genuinely gave me the opportunity to say hi. Years later, I still think, "Wow, what a guy." Even after working there for 5 years, I never encountered anyone as nice as Elliotte! Thanks, buddy, for a great memory!

They have eight via trade, twelve via free agency and a whopping three waiver claims, all on D. Who would have thought that a responsible way to build a defensive core is via the waiver wire (LOL).
The conversation about Nurse should have mentioned that, even though criticizing a salary is technically criticizing management, there are a LOT of direct criticisms of Nurse that focus on the idea he should be playing at the level they think his salary dictates, such as in comparison to other players. Those articles and discussions frame it as Nurse failing at every turn because his salary should buy more.

You cant compare the Kadri situation to the Marner situation. They are two totally different players who make different salaries and play two different styles entirely. To be afraid to get rid of Marner bc Kadri went to another organization and had success is short sighted and you wont ever win with that fearful mindset. You have to be courageous in your decisions as a leader of an organization. If the player in question had too many cons against them if you keep them on your team and dont fit you have to move on from them. Even of they may have success somewhere else. They were not going to have that same success here cause the circumstances are totally different here than in the other organization.

Skinner was the winner in yesterday's Game 6, 35 shots on net, and the Stars held the Oilers back with only 10 shots (in the whole game!) on Otter. Unfortunately, game 5 of the series Dallas didn't show up, and simply didn't look hungry. Dallas depth wasn't seen this series, and their PP was also terrible this series, they're a great team, seemed weird really. Good to see Oilers depth did shine. Game could easily gone into OT, and could easily of pushed to game 7. Hope the Oilers bring the cup back to Canada! Go Oilers Go!

That's precisely what the Leafs need to be selling, the likelihood that he will blossom in the right situation. Kessel won two cups and, arguably, should have won a Conn Smythe as well. That's on Shanny. Bozak played a serviceable role for the Blues and got a cup after he couldn't get a deal with the Leafs. That's on Shanny and the GMs du jour. They got nothing for Bozak and JVR, and didn't improve the team in any way that summer and lost in the 1st round again and again and again. Kadri gets his cup after a trade that, no doubt, was pushed by Shanny and above. Now Marner. Do we really want a guy like Shanny having ANYTHING to do with these deals? What has Tre shown he can do in these situations? I'm pretty sure Tkachuk will be getting a cup before any Flame, and Johnny Hockey says hello from Columbus.
