We literally need that podcast. I bet they both could make a very successful podcast.. Especially because The Daily Show was in the comedy realm. And there's so much to make fun of nowadays.
Wrong. One came out of a cave, the other from a well.
The ghost of Bert graced us with sponsorships
This was soo good. I could listen to them all day long. More please.
Such a grown up conversation!! 😂😂 loved it! Show this to Bert to see how it’s done!!
Dear John, You've helped me make sense of a dark world and shown me how to use humor to carry through difficult circumstances and for that I will be eternally grateful.
❤
I grew up watching Jon on DTS, he's taught me so much about critical thinking, doing my own research and looking behind the scenes for the ridiculousness without going down the crazy rabbit hole of conspiracy that the extreme left/right go through.
He is very educated formally in critical thinking and analysis, and self learned. Wish more people would self learn vs watch cable news networks and tell them how and what to think think
5:55 that groaning from Jon was out of how much older he thought Tom was. Then Tom’s like “good decade?”
That's exactly how it was with our kid; I was always worried that he was a little shit outside of home, too, but everyone always said he was well behaved. He also grew up to be a wonderful adult and I couldn't be any more proud. 🥰
Tom is great at podcasting when he can coherently finish his thoughts and stories without interruption. Great episode.
"the complexity of our tax code wasn't put there by poor people" is a fucking bar
Nothing was done by poor people. By definition they are unproductive in every dimension.
@BasedGod-ey5ee good point. They weren’t poor while they were doing that, of course.
@@avengemybreath3084 .....the fuck are you talking about?
A. You presume rich people are inherently productive. Explain the Kardashians as productive assets to our society.
B. Big man, your whole statement is both wrong and incorrect. By definition poor people are fiscally under supported. That doesn't mean poor people are "poor" culturally, spiritually, intellectually...sometimes people get dealt a bad hand. Doesn't mean they are less than human/don't work hard. Also POOR PEOPLE ESP IN AMERICA OFTEN WORK MULTIPLE JOBS. But they are somehow unproductive?
Do you like Rock and Roll? Country? Jazz? Barbecue? Velveeta Chee? You like a lobster?
Cuz poor people contributed/created these tings.
But they are unproductive. Bellend.
@@avengemybreath3084you can’t be serious. You do know that even many of we poors down here in the sewer have actual jobs . Well shit, apparently you don’t, i can tell from all of that productivity radiating from you, almost enough to eclipse that inflated self important snobbery that causes you to think that poor and homeless can’t be different things. . Hey man, i don’t doubt that you put your shoulder into it day in and day out, and can appreciate it, but you went sideways with the “ How to View Other Humans -Nancy Pelosi Edition” , that for some reason comes as a box set of cassette tapes at $39.99.
@@avengemybreath3084 Actually the poors sign up for military service in far greater numbers because they have fewer options. So they were most definitely still poor.
It’s so sad to see how sensible and cool Tom can be when he’s around good people, considering who is normally in his circle and how it turns out.
One day Bert will actually have a medical emergancy and no one will know that Tom isn't bullshitting. Lol
Looking at some of the comments, a bunch of smoothbrains already cant tell.
I remember watching that episode with my son. Omgoodness! I was surprised and excited and confused and in denial at the realization. And, my son, having no idea who you were, was pissed I was messing up his show for a visiting character who didn't even play anything! Lol. Thank you for the memory 💜
We really needed John Stewart, now more than ever. Great show guys
Bert with digestive issues, heart issues, liver issues? Im shocked
Did you miss the joke? Sure seems like it.
@@OptimusSatanas A lot of people seem to be knew to Tom's sarcasm and the general troll humor in YMH
Silly goose
there's a point in the big book that says here are the methods we tried to control our...
cant wait for toms kid to hit berts kids age . those stories are guna be insane
i feel that the best part of this podcast was JON STEWART talking about the W.W.E and his son ......... love from hamilton ontario canada
Jon is a national treasure. Great episode!
jon brings such a nice warm side to stuff, love ittt
I wish Jon understood that the respect and love so many people have for him is not in any way reactionary. We don’t say we trust him merely because the rest of the media has failed so badly. We actually know the valuable work he has been doing for 20 years. And people wouldn’t vote for him solely as a middle finger to “The Establishment.”
“reactionary”…..? What is the word you are really looking for here?
@@paulkersey724 Who is your idea of a smart and serious person?
@@asynchronicity definitely not trump. I was a Bernie sanders supporter. They don't have to be a Rhodes schooler or a member of mensa just someone that has the best interests of everyday hard working americans at heart. Katie porter I could see doing a good job. Trump bloviated numerous times of "draining the swamp" then he brings on all the wall street vultures on his team from Goldman Sachs, blackrock etc. those people are literally the swamp. he campaigned as a populist but governed as a bog standard corporate stooge. Making the tax cuts for the wealthy permanent but the middle class tax cuts temporary really cemented what he's all about. If he wins it's gonna be more of the same.
@@asynchronicity I think I replied to the wrong person. I was referring to trump. I love Jon Stewart and I'd vote for him in a heartbeat. Jon is simply a good human being who can put himself in others shoes. i know he doesn't want the job but if one day he'll changes his mind he'll win in a landslide.
Tom could not be less interested listening to John talk about wrestling 😂
I couldn't be more tbh
A TH-camr whose name escapes me at the moment once said of Jon Stewart, "Wanting a comedian to be president is like wanting to have sex with your therapist," and i don't think I've ever heard it put so well.
Actually sounds like a Jon quote.
Yeah, but we’d blast so hard.
But you haven't seen my therapist... she's pretty limber, even with the walker and the broken hip.
Why the hell not, there’s nothing to lose. It’s not going to be worse
With BetterHelp you kind of can have sex with your therapist
Excellent episode!! Love you both!
Can not agree enough with Stewart....literally hitting the nail on the head.
Tom and Christine...keep raising amazing kids
"Ages of people... have completely changed." LOL! Yeah, my face looks good for a late 40s person, but my body is crumbling.
12:31 glad this good conversation was interrupted for Bert to tell us about his happiness journal
Love Jon. Voice of a generation.
