Sharon, I really enjoyed your gmail setup video. You have a very friendly and comfortable speaking tone and offer instructions in an informative and easy to understand manner. As a Fortune 500 operations consultant for over 30 yrs, may I offer a suggestion that would help your channel (and brand if you will)? You created your channel around very helpful Gmail setups and tips HOWEVER, Once the user sets up the gmail its a set it & forget it situation. You need to offer information that viewers would come back for like Gmail security issues - Only YOU would know what additional expertise you can offer. Hope my suggestion helps.

When I tried to setup an account on a library's computer gmail wanted, at the end, to give me some verification code through texting. My telephone is a landline and can't text nor be used in a library.
Hi Walter, I don't think you can use a landline number to verify your account when you first create a new one. I know it's not ideal, but could someone go with you when you do it so you can use their mobile number just to get the verification code to get you started? (you can change it to your landline number afterwards, once you're all set up) Or maybe ask the librarian if they can help out? Sorry I can't help but I hope you get it sorted.
@@walterchavez3081 That's such a shame, and it's a problem that Google really should sort out as not everybody has access to a smart phone! I'm going to get in touch with their support and see if they can suggest anything. I'll let you know here if I find out the answer.
@@SharonsTutorials I absolutely agree with you. Not everyone has a smartphone; not everyone has a cellular phone. One way to get around, which is not even consistant with this problem's solution, is set up new google account ON A SMARTPHONE and "skip" giving a mobile number; but the whole point is some people do not have a smartphone.
You don't need to log out of your Google account - you can still be logged into your existing Google account and create a new account. This tutorial shows how to create a new one from scratch (without already having an existing Google account), that's all.
Why would you lose your TH-cam channel? You can create as many Gmail accounts as you like, they don't have to be connected to your channel. I have multiple Google accounts & only this channel.
@@SharonsTutorials The reason is because. The only reason why I wanted to move my channel to a branded one was cuz I recently got scammed on Google chat. I blocked and reported the person. But they had still messaged me under new accounts. But I don't want any contact with this person. But Google doesn't let you change your email address you have to create a whole new account which I don't understand why. So then I found out about moving personal channel to branded channel to change my account. But now idk because I worked hard to get my TH-cam channel they way it is and don't wanna lose it. I just don't think I'm ready to risk it all up The scammer hasn't messaged me anymore but I feel they still can as long as they know my email which is what I'm afraid of
@@ibstayfly I know what you mean about not wanting to lose your channel, it takes time & hard work to get subscribers so I completely understand where you're coming from 🧡 I would get in touch with Google support & explain your situation, see if they can suggest something - they are very good at getting back to people (in my experience) Best of luck with it all xx
